Yeah, I started reading the novel for LYR but I was traumatized by the ending, I also hope they change the ending 😑

I do like that they added more emotions in the drama especially Xie Zheng, the drama does a good job distinguishing the difference in his attitude and behavior towards Changyu vs everyone else

Tbh I don't even consider this a true slow burn, they already had a kiss by ep 9.. in less than 10 episodes they're showing affections like a true married couple. Yes, I get that they have yet to officially confess but to me they're already in a relationship. Whereas most true slow burns take up to 30 ep for their first kiss. But that's just my opinion haha.. the pacing is perfect for me

People who complained this is too slow will then complain there is too much angst, I'll bet on it lol 🙄

There's no one who actually "supported" her in becoming a general, she worked her way up by showing her abilities on the battlefield. The novel emphasized a lot on her capabilities and bravery. She didn't get promotions based on connections
