Rewatching some of the fight scenes, I appreciate how bloody and gruesome this drama is and rightfully so, this is how a show about warfare should be portrayed.

This director knows exactly what he is doing. I have never felt as sad as i did seeing minor/extra characters dying in this drama. Constable Wang was the most tragic for me 😭

The villains in this drama are what I call true villains, I can't stand lame watered down villains in some drama. If you're evil, you gotta convince me you're evil and this drama is serving us with unhinged lunatics.

Thoughts on the gua sha scene:

I was blown away by how well they brought this scene to life, I have to say that the drama version is much better with some notable changes. In the novel he's facing her back, whereas in the drama XZ took off her clothes with her facing him (which kinda makes no sense cause gua sha is on the back but NOT complaining lol) so the fact she is topless and facing him adds to the sensuality of the whole scene. After he's done, he passionately embraces her, compared to the novel he literally runs out the room feeling..hot? Lol

This scene was the most sensual and captivating scene yet without any kissing or dialogue 😍😍😍😍.

I love this song, whenever it comes on during their sweet/heartbreaking moments, I just feel like crying.

He is wearing a different mask and he lowered his voice, on top of that, he is wearing noble clothes.

Oh ok maybe I misinterpreted the 'uncle' part lol

I believe it was one of his uncles that lashes him in the novel but you're right, if they changed to Wei Yan, it'll be more dramatic

I just wanna give a big shout out to the make up team for this drama, the detail to attention is absolutely commendable. When XZ found CY on the mountain side, she legit looked like she had frost bite and is on the brink of death. I love this kind of realism, whereas in some dramas the FL looks top notch perfect even after a death and life situation. This drama is next level in every department
