She was falling for him, but things kicked up a notch at the underwater kiss scene, which I think is when they both fell in love. I only watched the anime and didn’t read the book. You can probably find it on YouTube. The drama is a superior product, they're so different that you can't really compare - literally two different stories.

Just FYI the anime and novel are the same, but the drama is almost completely different product. The screenwriters rewritten the entire story using DFQC and Orchids character names and setting.

Also IMO, she has been falling for him since ep. 4, but they both fell in love in the underwater kiss scene (ep 8), the beautiful dramatic music, their awkwardness after, and him reminiscing and touching his lips. The next scene shows his emotion tree started to melt for the first time and then immediately the next scene, he was able to see the future in the mirror and felt jealousy. In the next ep9, DFQC also gave her his bone orchid bracelet made from his blood (reminds me of an engagement ring). Both actors in an interview also thought their characters fell in love at this scene, but they didn’t realize until the mortal realm that they’re in love.
