Oldie but Goodie

This is a really great show from the late 90's. I'm not even sure how I stumbled upon it but I am so glad I did.

I loved almost everything about this series. Very realistic portrayal of left behind youth who have to fend for themselves when parents and society decide to give up on them. The lead actor Domoto Tsuyoshi was fantastic as Ryuu as was Kamikawa Takaya as Haruna and I can't leave out Megumi Okina as Akane. Even the supporting cast is phenomenal. I was prejudging characters who ended up making me love them( Toshi).

This series had me on an emotional rollercoaster. My heart was breaking for Ryuu and Sawaki. Sawaki was such a tragic, well meaning guy who never fully recovered after having his heart broken by the only person he has ever loved. While I didn't love everything that happened in the story; overall it was a great drama and I highly recommend. I would not rewatch b/c that's not my jam. So even though I won't rewatch' I gave rewatch value an 8. The opening theme song is beautiful and I liked the closing theme song as well. They both fit perfectly with the storyline. The last episode was a bit overly dramatic bit I think that was the only way to get the resolutions the characters needed.

I also really loved they fact the everyone isn't so damn good looking. I mean nowadays you watch a drama and everyone's a f**king model. I did have a huge crush on Ando Masanobu and Yoshizawa Hisashi.
