I started it for the ML and could barely drag myself through it. would've dropped it if it had longer than 10min duration. I skipped some parts here and there and also watched it on 1.5 speed. it felt too slow for me.
for those of you who wants to know the ending:it was very lame!
we got to know the villian lady lead Qiao Ran's mom to her death and then his dad died after that, ATHOUGH HIS MOM HELPED THAT UNGRATEFUL B!TCH FROM DANGER!! so Qiao Ran hurts her a bit since she was also trying to hurt him and Mingqi. because the LingKe people shouldn't hurt poeple of earth, he got sent back for punishment. Mingqi was left alone for a while (going full force reckless bella in Twilight and jump off a building for him to come back and save her but it was that other girl that saved her instead, the one who had a crush on Qiao Ran)...
then why did I call the ending lame?? here it comes!!!
after a year, they meet in the exact same incident of a guy holding a knife running into cafe! and she feels a deja vu and then we see them standing there smiling at each other...

yeah, technically that's her crush from modern world and has nothing to do with ML in past. I agree with everything you said.
what made it somewhat not sad for me was the ML coming to terms with her leave.. I mean it was like cherishing his memory with her and supporting her decision to leave.
with all the nonsensical endings I've seen for this kind of dramas (due to rules like time travel ban), I'm adding stuff along the line (like him remembering his past lives) to make it a happy ending! but in the end it was a lazy ending and the recent ones that I have watched went with something similar to this if not worse.
the leads chemistry was ruined for me with the constant 'ghosting to protect' on both sides.I lost count the amount…
why did FL continue to keep CS and XYW in her house? even after she knew he had left no evidence for them... it even felt like she had moved to QMY's house and left 'her house' to CS in later episodes.
she couldn't really achieve much with 'acting blind' either.. what was the point? it was only used to corner XYW but they didn't really gain anything.. she kept her in even after the birthday.
