so many specuations whom Hong Lim loves more: the King or the Queen. My pers[pective is that HL loves the Queen…
". the Queen and honglim had forceful sex, hd overwhelming lust which developed into love" I fundamentally disagree with this notion as deeply you as you disagree with notion that whatever the King and Hong Lim had was love. Hong Lim was actively and (as far as we see until AFTER sex with the queen) willingly having sex with the king. They shot daggers at each other when they walked past each other in the palace.
The king was crazy. The Queen was an incredibly difficult situation. Hong Lim was also in a difficult situation, but not one that we can say was alleviated by being with the Queen. Being an attendant to the King in every capacity was essentially what the Queen was too. The differences are that Hong Lim was there first and that Hong Lim and the Queen had a deeper relationship that the King and Queen didn't.
"Those who loved BL thougth that this a BL story and so disappointed that it was not true love ( as "inlove") between the King and Honglim." Interpreting characters in a movie is ok, but don't speak for people. BL's are fantasy. Many of them are toxic fantasies that don't have a happy ending. That you would think people who are actually interested in BLs would feel negatively about this movie because it ended badly for the two male leads is really weird.
"This movie reinforces the belief that it is harder to find true love in LBQTA community." The LGB and A are sexual preferences. The Q and T are gender identities. This movie focuses on a romance and the complications thereof between two men and opens a window on what that *may* have looked like in 13th century Korea among royalty/aristocracy. If you're well read at all on this period or those before it in this region, you'd know sometimes it goes much better or much worse. Either way, it's not reinforcing any stereotypes, primarily because it isn't dealing with any modern stereotypes at all.
I’m CONVINCED that people hype up the wrong shows in BL. I am absolutely in love with this drama. Like why am…
To be honest, if this ends up being one of the "underrated" BLs, I'm gonna blame it on Vice Versa. That drama just doesn't showcase Jimmy and Sea's skills the way this one does. It's very possible a lot of people won't even give this one a chance just because they didn't like Jimmy and Sea in Vice Versa...
Maybe it's because not enough time has passed since Only Friends, but every time I see Night look at Day, I simultaneously see both pity for his brother and a longing to meet with Boston.
do yyou thing its a 'strong' bbromance or just a nromal bromance?
Maybe somewhere in between? Song Weilong's character is a little too stiff for the first, so you don't really feel the passion of their relationship until later. However, the relationship between Jing Boran's character and Hong Yao's character is pretty intense and more like typical Chinese bromances like Word of Honor or The Untamed. The show overall isn't as good as either of those (imo), but it's still good and if you liked The Untamed, you'll like this too.
I really enjoyed this one. I was going to give it an 8.5, but I'm pushing it up to 10 because this show conquered two things we rarely see in dramas and those are having a peaceful breakup that allows both parties leave having learned something that can better their future and the peaceful end of a friendship. I can't stress enough how much I appreciated how Nick/Boston and Mew/Boston ended. Relationships can and will end, but they don't always have to go up in flames.
Also, the last 10 seconds of the last episode! 😍 PLEASE let there be a season 2.
This, along with Addicted, was my first BL! After so many years, I’m watching this again; feels like the first…
This along with Addicted were my first BLs too. lol There's lots of red flags in this one, but it still has a lot of nostalgia for me. Though I'm not as bold as you are. I couldn't go back and rewatch it at this point. I think it'd be completely ruined. lmao
I've never seen the original and I think I will keep it that way.I'll give it a shot because I love Mix but if…
The original was hilarious. I’ve been following EarthMix for a while and I’ve never seen them act as silly as the the leads of the Japanese version do, so my guess is that while the Thai version may still be a comedy, it might lean a bit more into the romantic side of it than the Japanese one did. We’ll see.
I’d say watch the Thai one directly if you’re more into Thai BL, but if you’re open to it, the Japanese one is very good.
Actually, the person the king was nicest (least evil) to, when it was all said and done, was the Queen. He literally…
He literally told her in the movie to go back to Yuan because he couldn’t love her. She told him she wouldn’t because she wanted to remain devoted to him. She didn’t take him at his word at all. I highly doubt the King simply telling her to find a boyfriend would have made much a difference. Even if he did, this time period in East Asian nobility and royalty didn’t afford women that right. Even if the king permitted it, it’s not likely the rest of society would allow it. Being gay was taboo too ofc but men held power, so they got away with it. In my opinion, this whole nonsense is the king’s fault by insisting two people he loves (in two completely different ways) have sex with each other for his own personal gain.
just a question, is this gay romance (like guy loves guy ) or just friendship, truth i don't like gay romance…
What nature is (no matter what you or I say) and what "God" is...are inherently different concepts. Rain falls and the sun shines on each of us indiscriminately and is evident to all without convincing. What you yourself *believe* your god says about what nature is requires a suspension of what is natural (pertaining to nature). Jews say a god parted a sea. Christians say man fed hundreds of people with a small basket of fish and bread. Muslims say their holy book was revealed by an 'angel'. If someone, even if your best friend came to you and told you something like this happened and that they saw it, you wouldn't believe it. But because a religion says it, then it's possible. I say this is truly unnatural. Homosexuality is found in multiple species, not just humans. It's in nature, thus natural. Humans didn't twist anything. Also, you can't boil human attraction down to sex. By this logic, heterosexual men don't love women because they're personalities or beauty, they just love them because they want to be with them sexually. But I digress, I'm neither Jew, Christian, nor Muslim and have a pretty bad impression of the last two given my experience with them. Something tells me you're probably one of the last two.

I was with you until you delved into the implication that gay men started acting like women to please men. This just isn’t the case. It also neglects the notion the gay man can in fact have a strong bond with straight or even another gay men and there not be sexual feelings there. As for the comment about the military, if gay relationships happen, they happen. It’s kind of innocuous. It’s also weird to suppose a reality in which an entire military force is gay. And even if they were, gay means attracted to men, not attracted to ALL men, right? Lol
The smile is definitely creepy and I love him for it, but I don't think so. I don't really think that anybody…
Boston's redeeming quality is his honesty with the Nick. Nick always tries to get him to admit that he likes him or to just flat out confirm what they are, but each time Boston sticks to his guns about not wanting to settle down and draws the line. No matter how much time and affection are spent, Boston keeps it clear.
Also, Boston just likes sex. He doesn't even like Top like that, but he likes Top's look/attitude. Plus, because he knows the type of guy Mew is, he doesn't even want Top to be with him because he feels it wouldn't work. In a really snakey way, Boston sleeping with Top was for Mew's good. 🤣 I'm partially joking with that last part.
