This is very true, but some things happen in higher frequencies than others...and the OC was kinda comparing regular gay themed shows (which tend to reflect reality a little more) to BL, so I was just adding to that.

Agreed. I think the biggest BL aspect of it is how Top is pursuing Mew. In regular gay life, most guys wouldn't string a guy they like along the way Mew is and they wouldn't put up with it for as long as Top is.

I could be crazy, but I feel like two main couples or four or more couples (the main + side) are the times when people appreciate the main couple. I swear whenever there are three couples in a show, everyone inevitably ends up rooting for one or both of the side couples more (myself included).

And notice how they keep finding ways for him to have his shirt off or have his arms featured in some really obvious way. They know what they're doing and who they're doing it for. 😂

Boston's being messy because he's horny and doesn't really care. Top looked kind of annoyed and I feel like if Mew hadn't walked in, Top would've stopped Boston like five seconds later, but there's no way we can know that for sure.

I kinda feel you. It is het women doing the writing of quite a bit of those stories, but it's not because they are het women that they're writing them. Het women are also responsible for many of the groundbreaking BLs that still have people gushing to this day like SOTUS.

I think your point is valid. Personally, the first I saw of Force (Top) and Book (Mew) was Enchanté and while I didn't enjoy the show too much overall, I did really enjoy Force's character which was a little goofy and very expressive compared to how he was in A Boss and a Babe. So this is why I think it may be a bit of the direction he's receiving as to why he seems expressionless. I also didn't see The Eclipse, so I don't know what the juxtaposition is between this series and that one, but I do want to see it at some point.

With all the saucy stuff that happened in the first episode, I thought that this may not be that deep, but honestly, the acting wasn’t bad, so I hope the plot can deliver as well. in the meantime, there’s no shortage of good-looking guys to stare at.
