Two other mainland China bromances that's really good: "The Sleuth of Ming Dynasty" and "S.C.I".I like "Handsome…
I have the EXACT same complaint. Addicted's ending was the worst it's ever been. I think they fully intended to make a sequel, but weren't expecting the widespread success and attention that it received in China and the consequences of that, which was the gov't banning it.

It's really, really sad (and ironic) to say, but: if Addicted weren't SO popular, it probably would have gotten a sequel. Look no further than Like Love. That was low budget and showed intimate scenes like Addicted, but the lead actors didn't have the looks of GuHai and Bai Luo Yin, so it was popular enough to get a sequel, but not popular enough to get a decent amount of mainstream and government attention.

i long let go of the bl angle. i just watch it for the pure eye candy.
I'm banking on getting my satisfaction from the side couples. I'm rooting for Man/Type and I need Mil/Phukong to actually happen so it can bring back my My Tee feels. I swear that show wasn't good, but the chemistry sold it for me.

So more Chinese bromances: Men With Sword (2 seasons) are from a while back and they were epic. The second season much more than the first. No females in the entire series, which is weird, but one gets used to it.

Also, Love Is More Than A Word and Till Death Tear Us Apart are also at the top of my list. These last two dramas, at least in my view, push the romantic/sensual aspect a little bit further than the newer Chinese bromances do. Like, even people who went into it not knowing what BL was would be like, "OK, this sh*t's a little gay." lol

try the guardian (mainland chinese series). it's on viki. i'm only on ep5 (of 40) but it is absolutely gorgeous.…
I've been trying to get through Guardian since like January, but I seriously haven't made it even halfway through. Zhao Yun Lan just comes off as so arrogant and annoying and I can't get into Shen Wei as the Black Cloak Envoy. He's way too 'cute' and nerdy-looking. He's also starring in a drama right now in which he plays a super, tough adventure hero and I just don't get it. lol I suppose I like the story, but I'm not feeling the chemistry. :(

I don't even need a kiss or a hot scene, all I ask is for them to be more believable as a couple, and the first…
Good point about He's Coming To Me. I'm watching it now and Ohm/Singto pile more chemistry into five minutes than Bright/Win do into episode imho. That said, I guess Bright/Win are still new to BL, but....I just have so little confidence in Bright's acting skills right now. His looks really will be what carry him, but hopefully along the way, his acting will improve.

They seemed like really close friends before, so they added a year's worth of a relationship, but now they seem like...brothers?...

Why are so many people are complaining about no kissing scenes already when it's only ep 1? Chill lmao. I don't…
For a couple that's been together for over a year, there's a lot of shoulder pats instead of hand-holding and lingering stares with each other. Before they came off as best friends. Now, they come off as an older and younger brother. meh

I think this episode is OK. Even though I'm still not convinced by Bright's acting, there are enough other stories going on to focus on (at least there are for now). I really like the closing song too.

Definitely agree about the lack of acting skills. I guess that's kinda true about the white privilege thing, but…
You keep responding to things I'm not even saying and I'm not going to try to clarify anything else again as it's hopeless at this point. Have a good rest of your life.

The premise of this drama: three effeminate gay guys and their lesbian friend was enough to make me completely open my heart to it. These types of characters don't often get the proper attention and respect they deserve, but this show does just that. Sure, we get the stereo-typical silliness that come along with "tootsies" (the amount of squealing in this series omg lol), but we also get to see other sides of them too. This show also sends out a lot of good messages about friendships and relationships (even if those lessons are about what NOT to do). At times, I really didn't buy Gus' acting (mostly just one sad scene), but otherwise, I really enjoyed this series and appreciated the message.

"its not ignorant when the majority of the thai chinese support military dictatorship and suppression of free speech in Thailand. So to think foreign chinese people aren't the same unless from Taiwan isn't that much of a stretch isn't it? Its rare that a Thai chinese would speak up for the oppressed in Thailand."

It's not a stretch to have that thought in general, but I took issue with the fact that you attacked *me* personally as if those were *my* sentiments. I never insinuated they were or said they were, but you just made the assumption and went of on a rant to me about stuff I complain about with my own friends in my own country. That's the hilarious irony of the many paragraphs you've written about the Chinese government thus far.

"People like you are RARE. Every mainland chinese person i've talked does not see it my way and pretty much think their country is in the right"

Again, not as rare as you think.

"Lol now you're trying to backtrack as if you weren't trying to steal the identity of many Thai people a couple posts back and claim them as chinese? Thats what you were totally saying a while back!"

I'm not backtracking and I don't need to. The comment is still there...and I didn't steal anyone's identity. That's not what I was saying at all.

"That there were "more Chinese than actual thai people" in the media!"

It's interesting you put that in quotes because I literally did not say this...at all, nor do I think this.

"This is what chinese nationalist tend to do, they see a yellow person in Southeast Asian country and will automaticaly mislabel them as chinese!"

Well, I didn't do that.

"And even if your claims were the case. Thai Chinese represents more of the population to JUSTIFY REPRESENTATION. Half white (just like half blacks) are the smallest minority and represent the tiniest percentage of the Thai population yet why are half whites constantly in LEAD ROLES and mixed black are NOT? Because ITS RACISM, white privilege and eurocentrism. Thai mixed Chinese are visible full asians and can be seen as comparable to represent a normal Thai person at least. You can not say the same for other mixes. And if you're gonna hire Mixed Whites in LEAD ROLES all the time, then DO THE SAME FOR HALF BLACK BECAUSE THATS CALLED EQUALITY."

Yeah, they do represent more of the physical population. Around 10-11% if I'm not mistaken, but they have a greater representation than that percentage in the media. I don't feel that's justified which is why I originally said they were overrepresented.

I hope this clears everything up.

I loved this show. However, they gave us like 2.5 couples, but then only five episodes? Lame! I also really enjoyed NewYear. I've been following him and his bf IG for two years and I finally got around to watching this show now. Does anyone know why he hasn't appeared in many other BLs (other than the plane crash [pun] that was What the Duck 2) or ...anything else for that matter? I mean, he has the looks, he's a decent actor and he's in a seemingly healthy relationship with another guy. This is the kind of high gay that Thai BLs need. We can't survive on just Fluke, Gun, and Earth. jk but seriously, I wish he were in more shows.

Sorry, I didn't to say Thai-Chinese have a wider scope than ethnically Thai people, just that that scope is a little broader (that is to say: a little more common) than half white people. I didn't take any issue with anyone's skin color or beauty though(?) I think you may have been responding to the other person with that. Thank you for your civil response, though. :)

Title Love by Chance Spoiler
It took me a while to put my finger on it, but I finally realize why, while I enjoyed the overwhelming majority of this series, I felt disappointed by the last episode. It's not just Kengkla raping Techno. That really is just the tip of the iceberg. It's that it was pre-meditated, that Techno's brother basically sold him, and Kengkla waited to get to Techno while he was drunk BECAUSE he was drunk. It's the fact that they play it off as funny the next morning. Playing it off as a joke/acceptable isn't anything new to BL, so I probably would have shrugged it off as another problematic BL trope, but in this SAME series another rape occurs and we see the full negative effects of it. How and WHY are we supposed to feel bad for Tar, but giggle at Techno?? Is it because Kengkla "likes" Techno, so he gets a pass? It's like a sick joke.

Is it worth watching these kiss me, kiss me again and then dark blue kiss series??? Please guys let me know
If you're not interested in the straight couples, then there's no real reason to watch Kiss. You can find the Pete/Kao cut of Kiss Me Again on YouTube which completely sets you up for DBK. Don't forget to watch their episode of Our Skyy too. Technically, it's between KMA and DBK, but it doesn't really matter that much when you watch it as long as don't watch it before KMA. lol
