Episode 20, and this is the second time that they are planning for use her using marriage, and this time with the crown prince. Fortunately, the first time, they only mentioned it once, and she even said that she wouldn't agree, but this time is the crown prince, so I hope they don't complicate things for a romance background and story that has been perfect so far for the main leads.

I am only on episode 8, but Kudos to the writers that somehow found a way to slip in romance at any time regardless of whatever might be happening!

I check this list daily for my next stops on my way through Dramaland and the last two entries as of now (288 and 289) have me drooling. I am currently rewatching the Story of Ming Lan, but after finding these two in the list, I know very well what I am watching next! Thank you guys! You are the best!

The first part half of the show is mostly about developing both main leads and their own lives, but if you pay close attention you will find that their interactions are not only interesting but authentic. The main leads interactions in the first half are refreshing because those are the moments where they can be themselves entirely. Bonus: Pay closer attention, and it will foreshadow their future together, and when they finally get together it will be all worth it, and you will get a ton of them together afterwards.

The only thing Yuan Ruo ever achieved for Ming Lan was making her life a lot more difficult...

Episode 18 is a great episode with a lot of foreshadowing!

My second rewatch, and while I am excited to watch since episode 37, I feel no rush because the show is very good.

I am rewatching this on iQIYI, but Viki is definitely better for the love comments alone.

This is a romance story, but beyond that, it is a story about Ming Lan, which will take you from her childhood to her adult life. Ming Lan first love is a young person that had feelings for her, but was not strong enough to fight for her in the end. This part is vital to the story because it helps developing the female lead into the strong person she is by the end of the story, and makes her actual relationship and marriage shines when she finds her true love. I wouldn't be discouraged because nothing really happens between FL and this other guy beyond some flirting. I hate love triangles, but I did not mind this one because even though it took a long for the main leads to finally be together, they were one from the moment they got married until the very very end.
