It completely changes the dynamic of their relationship because it's the first time they ever get physical, starting with their first kiss. It also marks the beginning of their cnc relationship, which is a major plot point in the novel. That's why Taeseon asks him if he's sure, and why Chaeha lingers on the doorstep. Going into the house means agreeing to a dom/sub relationship, which he doesn't really want but that's all Taeseon is willing to offer so he takes it.
