Who says mai mai doesn't look good in historical. She looks so beautiful in the reuters for a journey to glow.…
Finally, some gorgeous new pics in her photo section. It's a crime she has under 50. By comparison HMH has over 600. Even my other favourite young actress has over 200, and she's only just starting her career as a lead. Jinmai's PS should be filled to the brim. I'm going to have to go on a "Submit Tag" spree π.
Haocun. ZJM and LHC fans fight all the time on C-net. It's a shame because both are really talented. I binged "The Lead" not long ago. It was brilliant. I think it was mostly in relation to who hit 10k likes on a super-topic first. Stupid stuff.
Project Updates:Netflix released their viewing numbers for the first half of 2026 and here's how WXY's dramas…
~ "π Chang Ning Di Jun (Changning Imperial Army) - Youku 12 episode historical drama with the director of Sword Snow Stride. too early to tell if true but the production company has worked with YZ before so contact is possible" ~
I heard that this one is a male centric drama. Which would be great for him.
I think Neo has so far the best chemistry with Ai Mi in his dramas. They literally have no skinship and yet can…
I love this comment. What an incredible compliment considering the FLs he's had prior. She seized her opportunity and made an absolute statement with this performance. πππ
The director's comments are open to interpretation and international audiences have chosen the worst possible…
~ "all the guy said is that their acting is so authentic one would think they were really in love" ~
That's how I saw it. And, tbf, it's their own fault for having such great chemistry both on-screen and off. They should tone it down next time, and act more wooden.
Hmmm π€, I've been thinking about what it is that I love about KTTPH so much (other than the π₯ chemistry). I feel like I'm watching an extended movie rather than a long-form drama. Tightly wrapped story, well crafted scenes, superb acting across the board, fantastic pacing, and a ton of memorable moments. No expendable characters, no detours into cheap fan-service, no wasted scenes, no "tune in to the next episode" hooks, and no getting lost in pointless side stories. Typically, if I feel like I'm watching a film, it's a top-tier drama.
I think the director did that for commercial purpose, to convince people that the chemistry was real but it was…
Agreed. However, I have seen people vouch for the director's sincerity. Instead, putting the remark down to carelessness and not thinking of the wider implications. It was unfortunate.
On a positive note. He's done a damn fine job with KTTPH.
What did the director say? I didnβt watch the livestream.I never watch two dramas at the same time because I…
Link below with subtitles. He said it as a humourous way of complementing their acting. The timing was poor because people online were causing trouble for HMH. Best to avoid trouble if possible... https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSX99JV4v/
I'm in awe of what these two created on-screen. The director's remarks at the live event no doubt shocked, but after watching, he's not wrong. The two of them couldn't have acted that scene in 19 more sincerely. It was heartfelt and deeply moving. Their ability to convey the deepest love and connection is one of the most beautiful portrayals of romance I've seen in quite some time.
I actually paused the modern drama I'm watching with two perfectly matched co-stars of the same age. I couldn't stop myself from comparing the on-screen connection. Initially, I was enjoying the chemistry in the other drama, but after each new interaction between Xiao Wuyi and Xie Jiayu, it became clear the feeling just wasn't the same. Xiao Wuyi and Xie Jiayu took all my emotional investment, leaving none for the other pair. So, pausing was the best decision. That's how good HMH and Ai Mi have been. The way they play off each other to create these beautiful scenes, the raw emotion they pour into every on-screen moment.
Hou Minghao pulls at the heartstrings every time he's in her presence. That deep affection, longing, and silent pain at the thought of losing her. My heart can only take so much. His transitions between exuding the power, ferocity, and the authoritative aura of a general, to revealing the tenderness and gentle heart he hides underneath his armour. Neo's giving a performance for the ages.
And, little Ai Mi, what can I say? Take a bow young lady. I always believed in her, she's full to the brim with potential, and already a terrific young actress. I just didn't quite expect her to be this good. As brilliant as Hou Minghao is at delivering deep emotion, he needed a FL to step up and mirror that feeling back. She did it so perfectly, completing the scenes with Neo. Making these on-screen moments so unforgettable.
