Love it. But I wish they'd just put him in the driver's seat, and cast the FL as a compliment. They had the opportunity with an OS, but didn't have the courage. There really should be three types of stories. Male-led productions with a female compliment. Female-led productions with a male compliment. 50/50 carry ML & FL productions. They should've let him loose here, and built this story around him.
I'm loving this so far. They may have done our Xingyue dirty. But, he's still strong and powerful of mind. I just love seeing him on-screen. Such a commanding presence. I'd watch a drama with just him and his faithful horse π.
Before i was against this pair you all know the reason they call him old he'll turn 27 August 3 imagine they are…
I wouldn't worry. We've all been following along. The atmosphere on-set looks fun and relaxed. Not awkward at all. Others will come along late, and perhaps be shocked. But, we've provided them with plenty of info, photos, and reuters video content, so they can make up their own minds.
I am curious as to how elaborate the sets will get, when it comes to mechanisms and warfare. Don't suppose there's…
Yes, Ai Mi and her team have put together an impressive and diverse body of work. Her early development as an actor is commendable. In many ways, being a child actor can give them a leg up over the competition, but only if they want it, and they keep the enthusiasm for performing. Currently, Ai Mi ticks both these boxes. She has also come through the often awkward growth phase relatively unscathed. This is another thing that can derail a career on-screen.
Ai Mi, along with two other young actors, sit atop of my favourite actors list with regard to C-ent. The list is essentially a group of three actors I've singled out as emerging talents with a high ceiling. I don't have a decade's (or over) worth of experience with C-ent. I'm currently a bit over three, heading towards year four. So, for me, I decided to follow the next generation of hopefuls. It seemed the more rewarding choice. I can watch careers blossom or wither in real-time. C-ent for me, is a return to the modern. I prefer not to delve too much into the archives. Although I will research the older dramas you have linked. The driver behind this decision is that, in the Western realm, I've completely given up on the modern. Only on rare occasions do I seek out something new from the Western catalogue. The first, Dune (2021), was the last modern Western production I watched. I have no interest in the sequel. When it comes to Western cinema, I spend my life in the archives. Silent era - pre 2000s. My favourite actors are mostly long dead. It's refreshing to find some new ones to follow.
I also have a wider following-list. I'm not as harsh regarding this list. It has talented performers such as LYN, and CY. But, also actors I simply enjoy even if it's clear they don't particularly seek to be great at their craft; Li Hongyi, for example (who you mentioned). When cast correctly, he can do well.
Agreed, TT (2008) is an outstanding example of a modern comedic gem. My main issue with the current state of the modern Western industry is that the system in many ways seems broken, and no longer optimised for both the production of high-quality content and the development of elite talent. It's just a bloated entity that hinders more than it helps. Occasionally, someone with performing talent or a brilliant concept belligerently fights their way through to succeed. But, holistically, the old systems were much better amplifiers of talent across the board.
Appreciate your insights and knowledge here regarding the casting choices. The skill of casting a production is another lost art in the West. I really like that you highlighted it here. Ultimately, what emerges at the end will be a product of all these factors / components working together. Of course, I followed the little actor here. But, you've done an excellent job explaining the true significance of this project. It has made me both more nervous and excited for her. Opportunities to develop are crucial for her, but she must also live up to the expectations of the role. This project is real world on-the-job training and responsibility all rolled into one. I hope with guidance she rises to the occasion.
I really appreciate all the links and the sharing of your thought process. You have an interesting background, and ideas related to acting and film. I'll send you a message detailing more of my thoughts as they pertain to film in general.
I know when you read the book that you didn't imagine the leopard skin layer looking like some cheap leopard print from a thrift store. I'd imagine you pictured it as an authentic leopard hide taken from a wild animal. I love this show, btw π.
Please consider adding this 15-second clip of the carrying scene to your compilation (got slo-mo and some editing…

Thanks... π Durr! I literally added that drama to my WL the other day. I was missing RM, so I went searching for her new project. I read the synopsis, scanned her ML, and clicked add. I should have scrolled down a bit further.
