"Xie Jia Yu, the money-obsessed and crafty."Is she playing a villainous character? ಥ_ಥ
FOF proved she can smash that type of role. I was enjoying it so much, I almost wish she didn't change back. I have a feeling this will be a bit of both, too.
This one is going to be soooooo good. The main cast is epic (so happy to see Riley Wang get another ML role, he's…
Agreed. I commented earlier in this thread that she already possesses some of the most expressive eyes in C-ent at just 17. She has subtleties to her acting well beyond her age. Add to that the fact she has an impressive resume that includes works in both film and dramatic series. There are literally leads in Cdrama who are 20+ who have never done a film, and mostly do costume dramas. AiMi, by contrast, is not even 20 and already has an impressive range.
I really love your first comment. C-ent has a good track record of bringing these extremely talented child actors through.
Let's just follow along, and we'll see if they do something wrong. There's going to be a lot of eyes on the filming of this drama, so I don't expect anything scandalous to take place. If anything, what she did in MJTY and FOF will be the template, likely with a few adjustments here and there. She got a lot of celebrity support the other day on her birthday. She's well-known and well-liked in the industry, so I really do believe she'll be cared for and looked after. This isn't like some teenage runaway lost and alone in Hollywood.

Yes, I can't believe how hyped I am for this. It's the most day one energy I've ever felt for a drama. I was supposed to be watching Coroner's Diary and catching up to everyone else because I started late. But, it ended up just being background noise as I have been locked into Weibo, Douyin, and MDL following everything related to this drama. I want this to go so well for her, she really deserves it.
It's totally understandable. We feel the same way about AiMi and the backlash she will face. We don't just love…
I think after the initial controversy dies down everything will be fine. They are both professionals. AiMi has been in the industry for a long time, she isn't just some newbie kid. At just 17, she's racked up many credits in both film and drama series. Many leads doing serial dramas have never acted in a single movie, and never will. I know Neo is a gentleman. I'm actually glad someone like him is her leading man. He'll be professional and take good care of her. She will learn a lot from him. AiMi in return, is a lovely girl who can hold her own in the acting arena. She won't get in his way or hold him back. I look forward to seeing what they create together ✨️ ❤ ✨️.
I wanted to clear that we neo s fan don't hate or dislike her definitely liked her in fof and tboty she's cute…
It's totally understandable. We feel the same way about AiMi and the backlash she will face. We don't just love her because she's cute, or we think she's a pretty face. If there is such a thing as an acting prodigy, then a child actor of AiMi's ability is one of them. Like Wu Lei and Jinmai before, she really is a standout. She already possesses some of the most expressive eyes in Cdrama. We just want opportunities for her to continue to grow and refine her craft. We are actually really appreciative of Neo for being part of this process. We want great things for both actors.
It's also kind of hilarious that they NEVER get the age right lmfaoThere are dozens of youth dramas made every…
100%. I agree with this so much. Stop casting actors pushing 30 as high schoolers. Leave those roles for young actors like AiMi and Tian Tian to hone their skills. Then, we likely wouldn't see them taking these roles in costume dramas.
OK. It happened. It has been confirmed, and I've added it to my watchlist. First, congratulations to AiMi on her first lead role in a costume drama. I will be supporting her all the way. I know this casting decision is going to generate a lot of criticism, backlash, and concerned discussion. Rightfully so. But, for me, I want to remain positive and supportive of AiMi's big and well-deserved opportunity. My hopes are that extra care is taken with AiMi. I hope she is carefully guided, protected, respected, and given an opportunity to shine throughout the duration of the filming process.
I, too, share concerns, and I wish there was a greater variety of productions for young standout actors like AiMi to hone their craft. More sci-fi, mystery, adventure, youth fantasy, or really high-quality youth life drama, like Ray of Light (not the comic book comedy type). However, it seems the pathway to success increasingly goes through costume dramas. First Ancy (05), followed by Tian Tian (07), and now it's AiMi's (08) turn.
I have high hopes that this can be tastefully executed without the need for her to be put in uncomfortable or compromising positions. She has already demonstrated how it might be achieved with implied romantic performances opposite Zuo Ye in MJTY and FOF. Zhao Jinmai also gave a blueprint in The Blessed Girl. There really is no need for kissing or intimate adult-style touching to sell romantic feelings. Good acting can do the job. The way they look at each other and interact is often much more important. This is a position many hold when discussing the controversy surrounding Liu Haocun's supposed no-kissing clause. You can create a romantic atmosphere without the physical aspect.
I really don't want to dwell on the negativity of what might go wrong or call for an unnecessary boycott. I'd rather support and trust the creative team to do the right thing by their actors (especially AiMi) and deliver something tasteful, appropriate, and beautiful. Of course, we should follow the process closely, and speak up if we see something out of line. But, we shouldn't project or cast aspersions on the people involved and their families, or jump to conclusions of wrongdoing.
This is the first time I've ever felt nervous about the filming of a drama. I just really hope it all goes well for everyone involved. It feels so high-stakes. I will be giving it all my support, wishing for success, and following the events of this drama intensely. Good luck to all the cast and crew.
Looking forward to lots of great bts content, and a great atmosphere between Neo & AiMi.
Let's go! Let's get excited. This is AiMi's launch party 🥳.
PS... For those that don't know, this is AiMi's second lead role in Cdrama. Her first is a soon-to-be-released Youku crime drama called ABOVE THE WALL. If you're a fan of AiMi and her acting ability, go add it to your watchlist.
Ai Mi has been CONFIRMED as FL opposite Hou Minghao in the upcoming drama Que Gu (雀骨) ~ (AKA: Bird Bone / Sparrow Bone). Set for filming from July - X...

😁🤭 Yes, he may have had a little instruction from a certain little dance teacher🕺. His performance was flawless 👏🫶. For all the criticisms of C-ent. The community and care amongst actors is something truly special and unique 😊. She had an amazing BD with so many co-stars from various dramas coming out in support. It really warms the heart ❤️.
