Thanks for the very well written explanation. I’ve watched too many Korean dramas for very many years and totally understand the honorifics and all of that. However, it’s not done like that in all the dramas (calling each other Mr and Ms even after dating) so it leads me to believe it doesn’t happen often in real life Amongst people that are dating. You are right about the idols not dating, I read that somewhere but I thought it only pertained to kpop artists. I totally understood why she called her manager oppa but couldn’t understand why she kept calling the man she slept with Mr.

It’s boring until the end. It does have interesting parts at times but the couple remains boring.

I really wanted to love this drama ( I love the main leads) but I ended up finding it boring at times. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good and entertaining and sweet. It had the potential to be great and it just wasn’t. The side love stories were better than the main one. The main leads relationship was boring and underwhelming. They spent all 16 episodes calling each other Mr Kwon and Ms. Oh (I hate when they do this in dramas, is not cute, is dumb and doesn’t make the couple feel close to each other) while she kept calling her manager “Oppa”. I seriously couldn’t buy the idea that 2 grown people (specially in her career) had never dated before and were so cute and innocent. I felt that took away from the drama and I never believed in their love for each other. Even after they (obviously) slept together, she was all blushing and shy when he gave her a peck on the cheek the next Day (annoying to say the least). This drama felt more like a high school drama than a grownup one. They tried to portray the ML as a cold man but I found him to be a workaholic who was introverted and boring. I did enjoy the drama and it made me laugh a few times.

The mess with the BFF was too much. They should’ve chosen another character to do that and not him. They were like brothers, he helped the company be built and when some random person sends a letter and audio accusing his “brother” his first reaction is to ruin the company he helped built? Instead of talking to him and confronting him? Really? I hated that the ML invited him back to the company again. After all the stuff he didn’t (no matter the reason) he showed him what he was capable of. Also the ex girlfriend was a really nice person and then they turned her into this crazy woman who wants revenge? For what? Also, the 12 years she supposedly was in love with him, I didn’t believe that. If it was 5 maybe, but 12 years? And she expected him to still be in love with her? Insanity

This show was an entertaining hot mess. It would’ve been great if it only remained a romcom but it also tried to be a melodrama for a few episodes and it couldn’t handle it. If you want to watch this show I highly recommend you do not take it seriously because the drama does not take itself seriously. It had many flaws but one thing the show did excellently is the love story. Their relationship was matured and beautifully done. Noh Go Jin was a very broken person. He had a lot of trauma and because of it became an awful adult, he was really bad but there was good growth. Another thing I liked is the fact that the FL knew how to cook. One of my biggest pet peeves in kdramas it’s when a grown woman who lives by herself (or with a roomate) doesn’t know how to cook. One thing I didn’t like is the fact that the ML’s BFF and ex girlfriend were genuinely good people and they did things completely out of character for them. One of my favorite characters (who didn’t have much screen time) was the private investigator. He was hilarious.

I agree with you. This was a great drama if people watch it for more than the love story but human behavior, childhood trauma, struggles and growth.

The stupid 2 year long distance relationship where one of them has to go live somewhere else and it always has to be 1 to 2 years. It’s overdone and dumb. Does any one know who can I send a letter to so this people stop doing this in every drama? Hahahaha I totally would. Do not keep reading if u haven’t watch Dali and the cocky prince……The only drama that did it right in my opinion was Dali and the Cocky prince. They make u believe at the end that they had separate it for a couple of years but they didn’t and I loved that.

I loved this series. It was heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time, without been sad. It’s a story of broken people that have their own way with coping with brokenness and trauma. We see how everyone’s decision in life was different and took them on a path. There was a lot of character growth on everyone and we even see it in the main couples relationship, how they grew as people. Slowly but steadily. How everyone in their own way, realized why they were the way they were and what had caused it. I liked every character, even Ung’s best friend, even though he was boring and depressive, but I understood why he was like that. He really did love Ung and his parents. I wished they wouldn’t have added the fact that he had a crush on the FL for that many years. I found it unnecessary and dumb (they could have done without that. From the beginning u can tell that she was never going to see him any other way, not in a million years). I liked the fact that the actress was not annoying. I wished they showed more of the back story of Ji Ungs mom and Ung’s parents. I wished also, that the ending would’ve been longer (even though it was a good ending). I also would’ve like for the FL to honestly explained to Ung why she did what she did in the past. All in all I loved this drama, it’s deeper than meets the eye. One thing I hated just because I hate it in Korean dramas and it’s done in 90% of them (and it’s my biggest pet peeve) is………

I really liked what u said at the end. I guess our experiences have been very different. I made the decision to cut emotions and be done with feelings, very abruptly so I couldn’t understand her. I wouldn’t start a relationship if I still have feelings for someone else. That’s why we saw that scene differently :)

I don’t think he ever had any feelings for her other than friends. I don’t think it was because of memories that he let go of the restaurant, it was just bad writing. A successful chef who owns a restaurant and has doors open to him, has work hard for that and it’s obviously a dream come true. Nobody in real life would drop all of that to go on a random trip. What didn’t sit well with me is the fact that she said that she still had feelings for him (not as a friend but as a man) when she’s already in a relationship with the ML.

Hahhahahahha I thought I was the only one who couldn’t concentrate on the scene because I kept thinking about the luggage.

The first thing I didn’t care for is the fact that she told her friend the chef that they could go back to been close friends when she didn’t have feelings for him anymore. What????? That didn’t sit well with me (and I found so unrealistic that he would shut down he’s very well established restaurant to travel). The second thing I didn’t like but it happens in 90% of Korean dramas, it’s the been apart for 1 to 2 years. Writers truly need to stop with that. It’s dumb and doesn’t add anything to the story. I find it freaking annoying.

I really enjoyed this drama. It was short, lighthearted and funny. It’s the type of show to watch after watching a sad one. However, I found the last episode to be underwhelming. I expected more and it was just blah. There were 2 specific things I didn’t care for on the last episode.

You are so right but I did love Boss & me (gave it an 8/10). I don’t mind if the romance is slow but it most have a good story overall. There’s no story in this drama, none. I find it extremely boring. I have dropped it for now. Same thing with Love scenery. Even though it has a better plot than YMG I found it boring and dropped it. I’ll get back to them later maybe.

I’m on episode 4 and had to stop to write this. I seriously want to know what goes through some writers minds when they write scripts for dramas. Like seriously, that earring scene is so ridiculous. He went to give her the earring. She takes 3 hours to turn around, when she does he turns to look at her friend because he said “that’s my friends earring” and instead of giving it to her, he gives it to the man and walks away. The ML and the FL don’t look at each other (even though she’s his crush he doesn’t even attempt it and even though she thought his voice was familiar). It doesn’t happen in real life, they need to stop writing ridiculous stuff just to make a plot “more interesting “ is not interesting, it makes it dumb.
