Oh my God, breaks my heart, but yeah perspectives differ. But most of the people liked The Double. But most of the people loved it, and was a huge successful both in China and outside. I loved the chemistry honestly, and it was said even though there was a huge age gap between them, people still loved it. But yeah, not everyone can or should agree, I get it.
wow 7.9. is it that bad? or is it like the double that rose later?
Its not a bad watch though. You can give it a try, its not the best, but it intrigues you. So you try for yourself. For me personally, The Double was too good, excellent. I don't compare any drama with that.
To add another comment, It's already good that the sister in laws were allowed to leave the family after their…
True that. But hopefully they could choose to live with their in laws, just like some of them did, but again not every household was Wei Household. Not everyone, would choose to remain single forever, especially because they got widowed in such an early age.

I read the novel before, even there I was flabbergasted to read that the women who left did not take their children. I did not know the reason. But now as you say, it was not allowed, it makes so much sense. Otherwise why would women leave their small children to fend for themselves. Pathetic scenario.
I do not understand why the makers showed FL getting married to a dead corpse. Like she could be wife of Wei Jun, for sure not in love with him, but his wife, then widow, who fell in love with her brother-in law. Rebirth is censored in China, is this not allowed too? Or the makers actually thought that they did not want to showcase a actual forbidden love affair, because what I am seeing is Wei Yun doesn't even consider her as his sister-in law, so amongst them, its not forbidden, only for the people who don't know the truth, might think so.
I don't think Tae Poong should have defended FL to the level you are saying. Ma-jin clearly has more networking…
Honestly I don't like the trope of being protected, saved by a man trope. FL is able to stand against ML, during the eye ball scenario, and even other times. She shouts at him, explains him stuff, even though he is the CEO. I think this is because they are of same age. She doesn't do that to Ma-Jin. In Korea, they really freak about the age a lot, and respecting elders even if they are wrong, 30 years back, this issue was even bigger. Every girl needs to fight against sexism herself. Yes no one needs to prove anything to misogynistic men, but juniors need to prove to their seniors their ability to do stuff. So FL needs to prove her ability to Ma-Jin as his junior. ML did prove himself during the entire Pusan incident. That was his character growth. I think the entire Thailand issue is for FL's growth. Also ML is a ceo only in name. He has no idea about this stuff. He is learning, and he is even less experienced than both of them. Also did not like the fact that while he wanted to speak, both Ma Jin and FL told him that it was due to him that the other one was doing that stuff. So I really think two employees should solve their own problems. It should be FL that show Majin his position, that he is the one creating problems, he is the one worthless not her. Women should stand up for herself. I am actually glad they are not showing ML trying to guard her against each and everything. At the end of the day, they have to fight their own battles. ML did comfort her always, at every step. That's a boyfriend thing. A boyfriend can take a stand. I don't think its okay for a ceo to come between two employees until its too huge, like hitting etc. We need to understand the circumstances, Misogyny is a huge issue today, it was not back then in 90s, especially in Korea. So to compare ML's standards by today's men is not a valid point. People are expecting him to do those stuff, which would be relevant today, not in 1998. As per me. But yes, the entire door scene, was very childish honestly. Like I felt some parts they over did, which was not required.
They have not cleared the backstory. There was no mention of the twin, only his name on a badge was shown in a…
What I learnt was the FL grew up with one twin brother, and the other one visited for 21 days, only in summer who is the ML. The FL had a crush on ML, who just spent 21 days with her. 2 years back there was some kind of incident, which lead to the death of the brother who grew up with her. It was something like, she called her friend, and then he got into an accident. So that she wouldn't feel guilty about it, the ML took the identity of his brother for a while, so the FL couldn't mourn for her friend, and hence got upset at him. She also dated the ML in the past. This was posted in many places, but engaged, and not being known that her friend had a twin brother, I did not read that. So we need to wait, to understand, what is true and what is not amongst all of this, because till now, nothing is cleared.
This episode was weird. If Tae Poong told Mi Seon he was support her dream, then he should keep his word.He made…
Eye balls I agree to so much! That was the most reckless decision in history. Very wrong on his part. But when they fought about that in the port, I could see his intention behind it, but FL was right for sure.

I don't think Tae Poong should have defended FL to the level you are saying. Ma-jin clearly has more networking skills, and Tae Poong needs him to be in the company more than anything. Not to forget, that he is senior to him. Also sexism cannot be fought through words. While Tae-Poong did tell him to address FL correctly, did try to take stand for her during their dinner together, him constantly standing up for her, would make Ma-jin do all that sexist stuff behind his back. Even FL told ML that she is uncomfortable, and Ma-jin does these things to her, because Tae-Poong is kind to her. But she is herself insecure, which ML brought out correctly. ML himself served food, coffee, in order to make it gender neutral and not one gender's job. In sales department, if FL wants to work, she has to take her own stand, if she goes out and someone discriminates against her, ML cannot come and defend her, nor he should. Also this is actually in 90s, and considered normal. So even if people like Tae-poong are not sexist themselves, they are not the ones who call it out, because its considered normal. I think its way better when FL solves the problem in Thailand as a trader, brings him out of jail, through her photos, that's when Ma-jin would realize her worth, and that would stop his casual sexism against her, not through some scolding by the CEO. Also I believe, instead of getting protected by TP, FL standing up for herself is way better as a plot. Just my perception, but I get yours too.
im not sure if i should keep watching this drama. what got me interested was the old synopsis we got here on mdl…
They have not cleared the backstory. There was no mention of the twin, only his name on a badge was shown in a box. FL is angry on ML for something kind of a fraud he did 2 years back. Also a funeral scene, where FL is angry on ML. So its presumed the other twin died in some accident. Other than this, nothing is made clear in the two episodes shown. We have to wait for the upcoming episodes. My guess is, the old synopsis is a plot twist, which they mistakenly wrote here and hence now changed. But lets see.
Or viewers have to have patience for the story to unfold, it's obvious that something happened two years ago that…
Yes this is what it is. You explained in way better terms, than I could. But I like the FL, I also know about the backstory. But what the makers would do is show a redemption arc that it was some kind of misunderstanding, which eventually she moves forward with and realizes her mistake. I don't like this trope at all. But I also get that the drama is about healing, because both of them are suffering from something terrible that happened. So yeah let's see how does they do it.
I know I felt bad for them both while reading the novel and seeing the drama. But no its not a budget issue. Its…
Yeah I get you. But no, the original plotline, was for the widowed sister in law and brother in law to fall in love, thus engaging in a forbidden affair. Actually in the drama, they did not have a marriage ceremony, it was just a declaration, Wei Jun never intended to get married to FL, but in the novel, they were married in a ceremony. So yeah, the ML is supposed to get matured. What you hoped, sounded interesting too though.
Ep 3. Did they just kill his whole family? They run out of budget to pay them? WTF?? There are other ways to grow…
I know I felt bad for them both while reading the novel and seeing the drama. But no its not a budget issue. Its basically the whole plot. The death of the Wei Family, and their fall, and how the youngest son, with the help from his so called sister-in law earns his title, and makes the Wei Family great again.
Exactly. Honestly she couldn't reason herself properly. She threatened to leave Wei household. And when ML apologized…
Exactly. There are few problems with her character since ep 1, that I felt. But I also think I feel that more, because I read the novel, and there her character was kind of perfect. I am just glad all this ends in ep 11. Like now they both are aware, and looking forward to work together. So hopefully for 29 episodes, we are not getting these weird stuff anymore, and only focus on politics and love affair.
Yeah I’ve been thinking about it, too. I get why she would be angry - she’s been trying to prove herself to…
Yes for sure, she is not a bad person at the end of the day. But I still don't think she would have done those stuff, only because of a little care. But yes I think her lack of trust on the ML ditching her later, can also be due to the fact, that her ex boyfriend did leave her. But then how did she trust Wei Jun so easily. So I think the makers, did not write these things clearly. But lets hope it gets better soon.
