I know some are not a fan of Zhao Kai, however I saw this video clip of the actor who plays him, singing the cover…
What a sad song...Zhao Kai could have gone either way: good or bad. He just got bad guidance from Eunuch Han who fueled his belief that he was robbed of a kingdom due to his birth status. Han was his father figure and mentor from childhood so it was ingrained in him so early to achieve greatness but through evil channels. I really had hopes for ZK to redeem himself at the end but his brainwashing was just too strong.
I just finished this drama and I loved it. I know the whole plot of the robot was far-fetched but you have to suspend reality when watching dramas like this. I loved loved loved the main couple of Kim Min Kyu and Jo Ji An. These 2 actors were simply great together. Yoo Seung Ho looks like Lee Min Ho in certain angles. He was amazing as the lonely, isolated Kim Min Kyu. Chae Soo Bin looks amazing in her long wig when playing the robot - she did such a great job being both the robot and human. The supporting cast was terrific too. I loved how they all grew together and became a family to Kim Min Kyu who lost his family when he was young. I loved KMK's butler who was like a father figure to KMK . I still didn't understand how KMK could live alone as a little kid after his parents died. Korea allows a minor to live on their own? I hated the misunderstands and angst between the main couple that lasted too long for my liking. And you know what stood out the most for me? The second female lead was actually a nice woman. I thought the appearance of Ye Ri El would be another one of those annoying, calculating and manipulating characters but she turned out to be a pleasant surprise. I'm glad she got what she wanted in the end and that Hwang Yoo Chul redeemed himself. The villains got what they deserved too!
Anyone noticed that the child actor (Finn Han) who plays the grandmaster Zhao Xuan Su in Sword Snow Stride is the child version of Fan Xian for Zhang Ruo Yuan in Joy of Life? I found that really amusing!
XFN need some training in fight choreography. Why he always crouch when he try to fight. Looks weird. Come on…
Because he never learned martial arts when he was young. Even his bestie Old Huang kept pestering him to learn. XFN isn't a master of fighting yet. He's been picking up tools along the way and as he was told - his expertise will depend on how much he can pick up the techniques given to him. You'll probably have to wait for Season 2 to see whether XFN will master any of the techniques and weapons given to him.
The rating for this series on douban is pretty low, 5/10 while here MDL 8/10 and Viki 9/10. Many complaint about…
I thought Teresa Li did a good job portraying the homeless Princess. She was able to convey her angst of having her kingdom destroyed, being grateful that the Xu's took her in and even though she was made a servant for XFN, she was never mistreated. She was also able to show how much she cared for XFN while trying to kill him (albeit half-heartedly). I really loved their relationship and also her relationship with Master Li.
I'm really close to the close of this drama - just the last ep left to watch. I must point out that although I've been loving this drama, I've noticed some things that stood out: A lot of the last eps were so draggy. The dialogue between the characters had so many pauses in it that it felt like it didn't flow right. I literally fell asleep during some of the eps and had to rewind to find out if I had missed anything. Another negative were the fight scenes. Most of the fight scenes - I don't think there were that many actual fighting between the good guys and the bad guys. It was mostly done with CGI especially when the masters fought. Basically they just waved their hands to generate their powers when fighting. I still liked it though - it went beyond the usual martial arts fighting and more like using super powers. Zhang Ruo Yun does another great job as the main lead (I loved him in Joy of Life). To me it seem like he lost weight towards the end of the drama as opposed to the beginning of the drama. I wished the dialogue for the characters were a lot more flowing than some of the stilted conversations that I felt in some of the eps. And I want to say that I would love to see Ning E Mei and Qing Niao as a couple! All in all I've been enjoying this drama
XFN understood ZK's struggles and empathized with him, but he said one sentence that summed up why ZK is doomed…
I totally agree with your description of ZK. I haven't seen the ending yet - I tried last night but it was getting late. Anyway I never really cared for ZK's character. I know he was greatly influenced by his master in thinking he should be King and he was brainwashed so much that he had blinders on towards that path. I thought when XFN spared his life that maybe he would go on to redeem himself but I guess from these spoilers that he didn't. There was a reason why XFN's sister didn't want any part of ZK.
So true. That character is off the tracks delusional about how great she is. Narcissistic to the nth degree. My…
And how many times is she going to trip and hurt her foot? She's so damn clumsy - how about learning to walk first before chasing after her "man"! Annoying!!
Just started watching this last night. So far I love the interactions between the main leads. But I'm already hating on the conniving step-mother & bitchy ass step sister! I really can't stand the fact that the Wanqing is the legit daughter but the step sister thinks she's all that and is better than the legit daughter. Why do they always have to write these characters this way?! I just want to smash Wanting's face in already! :) Clearly the second male lead wants nothing to do with Wanting except for the fact that he's expected to marry the bitch. And she is so smug thinking Guang Yao likes her and we clearly see he DOESN"T! Ugh...
Ok so finished watching it, the drama was good, action scenes were really good, BUT the story was a bit meh aside…
Maybe it's like a Mission Impossible thing: "As always, should you or any of your IM Force be caught or killed, the Secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions"! But yeah...I agree...his name should have been cleared and her dad made a hero posthumously since he put his life on the line. It doesn't make sense that his daughter should have been left with her dad's name being smeared like that! WTF?!!!
How can I watch this if it has a sad ending?!! Lee Do Hyun had a sad ending in Hotel Del Luna and Sweet Home (although I'm hoping he survived for Season 2) and now he's going to have another sad ending again?! How cruel is that? Argh!!!
I’m on episode 5 and FL’s behavior is becoming more and more immature and annoying (the opposite of what I’m…
I’m on ep 7 and the FL is so cringey! She’s starting to annoy me more with her constant pursuit of ML. Just because they had an early kiss, she thinks she’s in love and doesn’t give a crap how he feels.
