That fight scene (if that’s even what you call that) between Joo Won and the big guy in ep19 was trending on ridiculous. Really they were like I will just stand there and you punch me, then the other one will just also stand there and await the return punch. Really what was that scene?. I was mind blown because that scene was so surreal and not in a good way, It left me completely bewildered in an otherwise stellar production effort so far.
Anyways I did enjoy the drama overall. I actually preferred the adults story more than the kids because the kids really didn’t even have a story IMO and their abilities were significantly less than their parents or they were not properly trained, the north attacked because they felt the south were training new generations of talent, they really shouldn’t have bothered because that school was basically useless in training them, anyways as much as I enjoyed the drama at the beginning and midway point, I was ready for it to be over by the last few episodes.
I highly doubt I will be rewatching this but I still recommend if you like this genre because although there were some eye roll moments the drama was overall, really well done.

Hi, I just came back to say… HOLY SHIT does princess YY have character development. I know the shitty ending…
I’m glad you stuck around to see it. She is awesome. I didn’t mind the ending that much.
Happy new year

Wow. Such a good series with matured cast and matured acting. The cast did such a good job portraying their characters. Oh and that chemistry was definitely chemistrying…. I can’t honestly say which was better, their conversations/banters or the way they look at each other, both were simply magic.
I honestly wish CDramas will transition away from the baby/childlike talking FLs and ridiculous cliched/tropey filled plots and give us more matured like dramas like this. I doubt that will happen as it seems the mature plots is not popular with their targeted audiences, which is such a shame as the minority are constantly subjected to a regurgitated load of mess.
I highly recommend this drama

I want to start by commending the casting director because they did such a fantastic job.
Aside from the script/plot (although I agree it went a little bit sideways in the last 7-10eps) which was stellar, the success of this drama IMO stems from the fact that the casting director and director of this drama didn’t cast any popular “idol” and casted people that can actually act. What a refreshing breath of fresh air to watch a drama where nobody is conscious of their angles and trying to look good instead of actually acting naturally. I totally understand that dramas want to make money and they have to cast this idols but most of them can’t act worth a dime, even to save their lives, but since they are popular and bring in lots of traffic and have fans that will defend their acting until their last breath and swear to the heavens that we haven’t seen acting like that in history and if you dare state otherwise, you are thereafter branded a hater/anti (unfortunately a lot of reviewers fear the attack from the aforementioned mobs so they keep quiet instead of rocking the boat and give their honest reviews if the drama sucked or the acting sucked), this directors are unfortunately forced to work with this very good looking but extremely average actors. Also not just acting, the combination of average and recycled scripts are also part of the problem.
I honestly commend all the actors for a job well done, I can’t emphasize enough what an awesome and stellar job you all did, it was incredible to watch, I want to specially shoutout to the most outstanding character to me and that is Prince Li aka Princess Yang Ying, the Justice this young actress did to her role will go down in CDramaLand history IMO, she was spectacular, she was believable at every point of her journey, I was left in awe everytime she graced the scene, I can’t wait to watch more from her in the future, honorable mention to Yu ShiShan, Alen Fang what a fabulous job you did with that character (and that shimmy was definitely on point).
This drama has reinforced my stance on not trudging through average dramas with bad script and acting even if I like the actors.
I wish the last few episodes weren’t so rushed and was fleshed out as the beginning of the drama, it felt like they just threw everything at us all at once but all that being said, IMO this drama is still definitely heads and shoulders above the dramas of its kind this year.
My only complain would be in the romance department, if felt like they gave us a lot without actually giving us anything, the romance started out well but it kinda frizzled out as they became official.
I highly recommend.

I’m in episode 2 and I’m not liking the FL’s acting at all. It feels too much and out of place, the wide eyes look and over the top enthusiasm for scenarios/scenes that are regular at best or mundane at worst is putting me off this drama even though I’m intrigued by the premise.
I will try and trudge through it with the ⏩ button. Will give this another 3eps to see if I will complete it or if it will go into the drop pile. Fingers crossed

On A Time Called You Dec 26, 2023
I watched this drama for both the leads and I was not disappointed in terms of the acting. The acting in this drama was really good.
Was up with the kiss scenes, both ML & FL can kiss as seen in their previous dramas so I’m guessing this was on the director and that was super disappointing, they had really good chemistry only to be let down by such mannequin kiss, especially as their love was this epic type of love that literally transcended time and space. Anyways luckily the story was good enough to let it slide. Now the plot was a little confusing at first with all the timeline changes and whatnot but after awhile you get the gist of it.
One of the reasons I didn’t rate this higher is because I refuse to accept the reason giving for why MinJu wanted to kill herself, claiming it’s depression, I disagree, IMO she wanted to kill herself because a boy didn’t like her back, when she came back in ep11 instead of Jun Hee, she was all well and good as long as Si Heon didn’t notice and continued to like her but when he finally realized she wasn’t Jun Hee all of a sudden she wants to kill herself, and also Si Heon and In Kyu were friends with her even before Jun Hee showed up, so that whole monologue of nobody talking to her and liking her was complete BS, In Kyu liked her but apparently that didn’t count because it wasn’t Si Heon, so I don’t agree with the reason giving for why she wanted to kill herself.
Anyways I don’t think I will be rewatching this but I recommend for a one time watch.

I will watch anything that has Gong Jun in it, as he’s my favorite Chinese Actor along with Johnny Haung.
This might sound biased because I love Simon so much but his acting here was so good if I do say so myself. I also liked the FL’s character so much, our marketing genius plus she wasn’t a woe is me character.
There was absolutely nothing I liked about the 2nd FL, she was such an incredibly bland character and for the life of me couldn’t understand what Jian saw in her but to each their own.
The way they glossed over that peace loan incident just so the FL and Gao Yi can reconcile was baffling, no matter how you look at it, his actions or even inaction if you may resulted in the death of her father, I know he didn’t kill her father but he might as well have IMO.
The last part of the drama didn’t make much sense honestly, the FL valued trust above everything especially after everything she went through and the ML characterization has always been open when it comes to business matters especially acquisitions why then did he hide it from the FL, it was for just no other reason than to have more episodes and the drama can have drama but it ended up cheapening the character IMO & it was a shame.
Overall I enjoyed the drama and I recommend

I was going to give this drama 9/10 but not anymore.
The father not being punished or getting any sort of retribution but instead gets forgiven and even gets to have a relationship with her when he was as guilty as the mother and stepsister is so wild to me. So what this drama is telling us, is that because he didn’t know that she was his child, his behavior is excused. The level of disappointment I feel about this is beyond comprehension. He gets away with everything just like that. Gosh I really am so pissed.
Once again a man’s sin is trivialized while a woman’s sin is accentuated. It’s beyond ridiculous and I am not rewarding this BS.

This series was on my watchlist but it wasn’t quite the time to watch it but the hype and rave reviews made me watch it ahead of schedule and I will say that overall I can totally understand the reason for the hype.
Don’t get me wrong I liked the drama in the totality of what it is and although some arcs weren’t properly fleshed out (I won’t go into details here as someone else already did so read review by #PeachBlossomGoddess for further details if interested) it was still a good drama, aesthetically pleasing drama. I completely agree that ZLH was overacting sometimes but honestly i didn’t mind it at all, I can’t totally understand why people especially the ladies are into his brand of crazy (judging by many reviews I read), his ferocious deranged snarl looks where one for the record books and gave the likes of Wen Kexing ( my favorite male CDrama character tied with Mei ChangSu), DongFang QingCang and Wie Wuxian a run for their money.
My Girl Bai Lu always delivers and that chemistry was off the charts, I wish we got more of them as a couple but the ones we did get was definitely worth it.
As much as I liked the drama for some reason I didn’t crazily love it and I only give 10/10 to a drama I love and will definitely rewatch.
I highly doubt I will rewatch this but never say never.

I didn’t watch A Date With the Future but I watched Fireworks Of My Heart and I will tell you, IMO this one…
Completed the drama and changing my overall value to 7.5/10. I just don’t understand what the last 5 eps where all about, it just felt like a waste of time honestly. I’m more annoyed by the unnecessary episodes than the ending, that being said, is the goal of this drama to teach people that if you devote you life to service of your country and you are very good at it, you don’t deserve long life, love and happiness and all you are destined for is either death or being maimed. It’s a ridiculous lesson to pass across IMO.

I didn’t watch A Date With the Future but I watched Fireworks Of My Heart and I will tell you, IMO this one is much better than FOMH, especially in the acting department, the acting in this is very good, the emotions from the actors especially the ones portraying the fire fighters was really impressive. I really didn’t care much for the 2 young newbie fire fighters, they just didn’t do anything for me.
This series was really good until about ep30 or so, it just veered into the ridiculous, so called paparazzi or media people were constantly following Lin and Nan Chu everywhere that they could hardly see each other but he could suddenly go out with Director Lou in ep35 to eat and drink and not one paparazzi in sight, I guess this plot line didn’t need paparazzi to move things along, deep sigh.
Can someone who has read the novel explain why she had to go to the US and what she will be doing there, because I honestly do not understand, she didn’t do anything to warrant relocating to a whole different continent.

This next part is not really only about this drama but CDramas in general.
It wouldn’t be a CDrama without the breakup trope at close to the end of the drama. Then few episodes to the dramas end, viola the couples will comeback together and everything will be magically alright in CDramaLand and they will live happily ever after, and all the things that supposedly plagued the relationship which caused the breakup are almost never even brought up or acknowledged and hardly ever resolved but it will suddenly not be an issue anymore, would you care to be illuminated on the reason why, get your popcorns ready (although I doubt you will have enough time to take more than a bite as the reason is quite short), the singular reason ladies and gentlemen is that the allotted episodes for the drama has been fulfilled and it’s time to wrap up production, oh how incredulously ridiculous.

Anyways back to the drama, I have 5eps left to finish this, I have read the reviews so I kinda know how this ends so I am mentally preparing myself for it.
Although the last few episodes haven’t been that good a viewing experience for me, overall I have enjoyed this drama, I very much doubt I will be rewatching this but there was no way I wasn’t watching this once as it features one of my fave CDrama actor & actress in Johnny and Zhang Jing Yi, so do I recommend for a one time watch? you betcha I do.

On The Legend of Zhuohua Nov 20, 2023
To say the romance in this drama was muted is an understatement. Even though it was touching it felt very flat and lifeless, I wish they gave the romance life. Also they went extremely overboard with the weird lightening and filter, it was really very obvious and it was distracting at times to watch.
But it was a good drama especially the first half of it. I knew right away who the main villain was going to be, to me it was pretty obvious even though they kinda tried to keep it low key until like ep20 or so.
The irony of doing a drama about including women in the imperial court but making women the greatest villains of the drama is definitely not lost on me or any other viewer for the matter, making the villain that psychotic, unhinged and basically a sociopath just destroyed the very message they claimed they were trying to convey which was women can be and should be officials if qualified. That’s the major reason I took points from the drama.
CDramas and making female characters be extremely vile, vicious, unhinged, wicked, evil and all any of the unpleasant words you can imagine is really very disappointing, the level they make this female characters reach is beyond my comprehension because I don’t know any of those type of women in my life but oh well.
I doubt I will ever rewatch this but I recommend for a one time watch.

Thoughts as of ep5
I am not a fan of Meng. She has such a woe is me attitude. I’m sorry but she really shouldn’t have been casted for this show. Everyone has to keep walking on eggshells because of her. No boy can flirt with the girl he likes freely in front of her because they don’t want to hurt her feelings, what BS?.
And her conversation with Shi Yi was such an eye-roll moment for me, I completely agree that Shi Yi should have rejected her in a firm and polite manner instead of avoiding her but her claiming she only wanted to get to know him and be friends is such BS, she likes(d) him and was always crowding his space and talking to him. Why wasn’t she also trying so hard to be “friends” with Ma and Shen?
It’s mature and polite to try and get along with everyone in the house as they are all living there for the duration but I simply do not agree that someone must talk to you. Everyone should have the right to have as minimal or maximum interactions with other people as they want based on mutual understanding.
After reading that Shen and Xiong are still dating, I am so excited for them, can’t wait to finish watching and see how that relationship develops.
Take Shen for example, right from the beginning he has wanted Xiong, he keeps doing everything he can for her to recognize and accept him but he’s doing it so respectfully and giving her space when needed, although he pouts when she interacts with the other guys, he’s not making things weird and uncomfortable for her and everyone else, at least as far as I have watched.

Thanks so much for your review. I'm new to review writing so I like studying posts like yours for examples :)I'm…
There were just a lot of eye rolling moments especially in the medical parts of the show. And like you said for such a big/fancy hospital setting, the lack of correct procedures and attention to details was just intolerable for me. Lucky you for dropping this on time, I unfortunately wasn’t that lucky and had to endure a very painful viewing experience.

I’m currently @ ep4 but I wanted to say this, when your mom tells you that the only reason she gave birth to you was so you could look after your brother, wow, I don’t know how anyone can come back from that, because that’s just so wild and traumatic on all levels.

Update after completion.
Honestly I like the premise of the drama but some details in the execution left me smh. That Ok psychiatrist hospital was just a prop in the drama, there was basically no work done there, it was just for gossip and drama. The three leads had severe traumatic experiences but they didn’t seek extensive treatment, they should be in therapy both individually and collectively before they can become that real family they are seeking, after everything they went through I’m not buying the kumbaya family times without proper treatment for the 3 of them but what do I know. I know that Sang Te met with the director doctor sometimes and Gang Te also talked with him a couple of times too but it felt to simplistic in terms of the severity and enormity of the situation.
I finally decided to watch this drama after a long time of putting it off, if I never watched it, I really won’t be missing much IMO, so I can’t say I recommend or not.
I definitely won’t be rewatching this.

People saying that this has no plot, I don’t agree with that. The plot is basically clear. She’s out for revenge for her dead friend, how more clearer can it be? The movie is a revenge drama and doesn’t pretend to be anything more than that. It delivers for me in what it sets out to accomplish. The fight scenes where actual very decent although some suspension of belief is required at times, it had overall good/decent fight scenes.

Title The Devil's Plan Spoiler
Right from the beginning of the show I didn’t believe a single thing that came out of Orbit’s mouth and I still don’t. He basically designed the play and route of the final 3’s game and then made a rookie mistake, yeah right, puh-lease. Either Dong Joo drank his kool aid or she just doesn’t want to call him out because I 💯 believe he intentionally screwed her over. I feel like he’s full of BS and using reverse psychology to make the other players believe his BS. The persona he was putting on in front of the other players right before the final match was so fake I cringed so bad, I’m actually glad the Joon Bin called him out even though he did it jokingly
I am so happy that Seok Jin won. Extremely well deserved. He brought it home for their 4person alliance.
The bond between Seok Jin, See-Won and Dong-Jae was literally everything. They genuinely supported each other. I was so happy to see the moments between them in final episode, especially when Dong-Jae was telling See-Won that Seok Jin made it to the finals and when Seok Jin was telling See-Won how devastated he was when she was eliminated. What an incredible trio. Unfortunately Guillaume didn’t last long enough to solidify the fantastic four they could have been.
Overall good game.
I recommend.

Am currently @ ep4.
When Yurisa was basically threatening the other players with kicking them out if they don’t do what she says, it was beyond ridiculous and I was surprised that most of the players were falling for it, at first, atleast. Especially when an announcement was even made that the Pandora’s box was not opened.
Best believe if I was a player I would have called a team meeting and called her ass out.
I will say, so you expect all of us to believe that you not only kicked out Xitsuh but have the ability to kick every one of us out, so the producers of the game, created this elaborate game with this huge mansion for us to just play a whole whopping 2games and let you have the power to eliminate everyone on the 2nd or 3rd night because you are what, Queen of Sheba, and then what, the game ends, what kind of delulu pills are you on, I would like to slap that delulu along with the constant smug, sarcastic, creepy and superior smile on your face but since I can’t do that, I highly suggest you trade those delulu pills for some humble ones and take several seats somewhere. End speech and then walk away.
