I liked Mingyi from beginning to end. There I said it. don’t care if I’m the only one. As for Yanyan both…
Liked him too. Especially his weak but scheming character. He makes use of anything to achieve what he wants, be it Yanyan or the throne. (As for the main couple, I generally skipped most of the scenes and instead focused on Mingyi and politics.)
As of episode 18 it isn't shown why they can see the future and they haven't really sat down and clearly talked…
At the end of the first episode Fu Rong has a dream, in which a narrator briefly explains what happens to her family. Each fate of her family members was the content of additional dreams. Also, her being buried alive was a longer scene(?). I only read this in an earlier post and don't know too much myself... I also don't know if there will be a director's cut.
after reading the new synopsis/plot, can someone please tell if it was shown already why did the two of them can…
As of episode 18 it isn't shown why they can see the future and they haven't really sat down and clearly talked about their dreams. Only once when Fu Rong was drunk, did she vaguely say he was going to die. Also, apparently a few dream sequences got cut/condensed due to censorship.
I am uncertain about the death of the Empress (who took away ML to raise him) and Consort Wan (mother of SML).…
As far as I understand, the Empress and Consort Wan died at the same time. When ML was staying in the temple, he caused a fire by toppling a candle. SML thinks Consort Wan burnt to death, but the Emperor claims she died of natural causes(?). The Emperor connects the fire to the Empress' death (curse from afar) and thus sends ML to the border to instead 'curse' foreign enemies. But, this is all just my speculation.
While both LoYX are written by the same screenwriter, the lengths of the novels they're adapted from differ drastically…
I agree that the choices of the screenwriter can have an impact on the quality of the drama. Especially if they're tasked with adapting an existing ip. I'm glad that the writer shows improvement and love the complexity and tight plot of Ruyi.
"We'll never separate in this lifetime." Is romantic and all, but takes on a whole different meaning when you consider the dream of getting buried alive. Omg.
