I watched the new episodes on the WeTV website.

To me the 2nd Prince's wedding and Ban Hua storming the Shi family are the definitive highlights of the two episodes. Xie Wan Yu looked so beautiful in her wedding dress. Ban Hua stops at nothing once her family is involved! But, the chicken/refugee crisis seemed slightly draggy.

Just completed episodes 19 and 20. Can't believe I'm already halfway done.

SPOILER: What is weird is that his complex feelings for the Rong family were simplified into typical love and revenge.

I noticed the inconsistencies in Rong Xia's character as well. My guess is that the drama tried to dramatize his character and failed. If you know in which scenes it's the original Rong Xia and which were added, it's not as bad. I'd imagine it's pretty confusing trying to make sense of some of his actions and emotions, if you don't know.

I like it a lot. (But I'm biased because I love the novel.) Anyway, for an idol drama the production qualty and acting are decent if not great at times. Haven't skipped a scene yet. Just give the first episode a try.

I'm only at ep 4. Although I hate the dad already, 10/10 for slapping the Crown Prince though. Thinking back to his role as Liu Bei in Three Kingdoms, he's always been a pretty controversial dad. (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=z8D76BmjhIw)

I'm glad we're taking a break from all the tragedies. Although death/scheming is still going on in the background (Uncle Rong's death and the 2nd Prince's marriage). I loved the scene of Ban Hua and Rong Xia showing off in front of Shi Feixian Haha. Also, the drama really emphasizes how a woman needs the support and understanding of her family to be as free spirited as Ban Hua.

Just finished watching episodes 17 and 18.

I watch the drama on WeTv, but newer episodes are VIP (monthly payment) restricted. The episodes are uploaded on YouTube and Viki as well. Also, dramacool.

(Major Spoiler) Ep 15: The Princess is near the end of her life and knows that the emperor is suspicious of her and the Ban family for keeping the tiger tally (symbol to command the army). So, she commands a eunuch to 'assassinate' the emperor and then die in his stead. Now the emperor will always remember the sacrifice of the Princess and treat her family well. Ep 16: In a flashback it's revealed that the Princess and Rong Xia collaborated. The Princess gives him the real tiger tally after he promises to protect the Ban family.

Ep 15 and 16 were dramatic! I knew the Princess Royal was going to stage the assassination, but everyone's reaction (including the emperor) were on point. If I remember correctly the novel never mentions how Rong Xia got the tiger tally, now we know. As always, I'm looking forward to tomorrow's episode.
