I appreciate that they dedicated a whole episode to the Princess Royal. We got to see her view on the past and how she intends to secure a future for the Ban family. Also, the actress is so expressive! As for episode 14: the Aipo prince and Shi Feixian's reaction was hilarious.
It generally follows the novel's story. But it places more focus on the Rong family's extermination and the search…
Major Spoilers: The novel has a happy ending for the leads and the Ban family. Rong Xia and Ban Hua become Emperor and Empress after rebelling against the second prince, who usurped the throne. Later, Rong Xia and Ban Hua have one son together and the Ban family leads the same leisurely life they always have.

In the novel Ban Hua and Rong Xia don't have any major conflict. They support and look after each other. But the drama might create some conflict/misunderstanding between the two.

I understand, I was also hoping that they didn't change anything. I do like the drama and always look forward to the novel's iconic scenes (even if the order or characters have changed slightly).
In ancient asian culture, an engagement is considered a marriage.
In imperial China, fiancee literally meant 'unmarried wife.' So an engagement was a pretty serious matter and breaking it off damaged the woman's reputation. As the failed marriage was usually blamed on her.
can anyone tell me this drama story follow like it's novel or they change story ,character ?
It generally follows the novel's story. But it places more focus on the Rong family's extermination and the search for the tiger tally. The characters are mostly the same. However, Ban Heng and Xie Wan Yu are paired up in the drama. I don't know if they end up together or if Xie Wan Yu still marries the second prince. Do you want to know something more specific?
I liked the continued focus on the Ban family and the Grand Princess. They are such a funny and loving family. Also, Shi Jin is lovably sincere. While I am rooting for Rong Xia, he does come off as indecisive if not hypocritical at times. Oh well, the kiss solves everything lol. Looking forward to next week's episodes.
I think becuz HuaHua is close to her Grandmother and in good terms with the Emperor. It was sorta lucky for her…
I think he's also rewarding her for resolving the golden bow issue. By interfering everyone's attention was placed on her rather than Jing Luo coveting the Crown Prince's status.
Finished 10 eps! Can someone spoil me about the novel? The ending and opening credits suggested she married both…
The drama gives more screen time to Shi Jin, compared to the novel. But I don't think he will get engaged to (or marry) Ban Hua, because he's always torn between his familial obligations as the heir to the Shi family and his love for Ban Hua. EDIT: Having watched episodes 11 and 12, the Shi family isn't at odds with the Ban family. They even took the Emperor's suggestion seriously to engage Shi Jin and Ban Hua.
Just finished the first two episodes. As expected the drama deviates from the novel slightly, but no dealbreakers yet (at least for me). I really appreciate seeing all the characters come to life on screen, especially the Ban family.
