Although it turned really serious in the middle this drama featured many scenes where I had to really laugh out loud. The medical background was well executed, the two couples had great chemistry. The ending stuck the landing and regained the well needed humorous tone. My only complaint was the underutilization of the SML as well as the bee scene which gets my award for the most annoying kdrama scene of this decade. Lol
True, but also sharing to others on a group chat that she knelt and begged is shitty behavior.
I didn't catch that. That's indeed a bit shitty but kneeling and begging in front of strangers kinda is shitty too. You don't force a relationship like this.
I am really enjoying this so far. Contrary to popular opinion here I think that Kang Minhas ex did nothing wrong. Developing feelings for someone and telling it before anything happened is very mature IMO. Feelings can change. There's nothing to be done about it. So I feel sad for SFL. But I' ve seen it many times in my private life that new life sections can change someone a lot and former relationships don't always grow in the same direction. That's life. But that's just my two cents. Feel free to disagree.
I'm really having a good time with thus show. I laughed out loud at least once per episode...a thing that doesn't happen often. But the bee-scene is something to be never talked about again.
This looks like it's trying some new things. Nam Jo Hyuk is always welcome. I'll check this out. I also liked Dear Hongrang a lot which looked equally dark snd kinda unusual for a kdrama.
Everything with Lee Junho in it is at least a good watch. I will definetily check it out and hope for a grey character. It's great he's choosing fantasy. That's new territory for him.
I really like this drama. I'm a big fan of the Zhou Yiran. He played in many of my favourite cdramas. I loved Reborn and 12 letters. It's my first time seeing him in a cosrume drama. The other actors are good too. I also love the color setting. My only critic so far is the pacing if the first two episodes. Imo too much is introduced at once and I felt like beeing on a rollercoaster. But in episode 3 with the exposition done it gets really good. The main couple has amazing chemistry. The two ministers are great trying to outsmart each other and the little king is hilarious. I also think that the villain ex does a great job. I am eagerly awaiting the next episode. The story is nothing new tbh but it's an entertaining watch nonetheless.
I so hoped for a better direction for the SML. F.e. let someone else leak the contract. I also could have lived without the unrequited love of the SFL. I really like the couples though. It's a nice drama but it could have been so much better. I still think thar pairing the second leads romantically would have been the better story. A queen mother and the prime minister. They would have looked great together. Maybe in another drama though.
I hate that Steve Noh is playing this role like whyyyyyyy
It's implied that he leaked the contract. I have the feeling that it will be revealed later on that he indeed has a conscience. He's also prime minister and it would break his characterization to do something stupid out of love. FL didn't took his marriage suggestion seriously and he seems to be more than aware that she doesn't have feelings for him but for the prince. If he's indeed the culprit that would be lazy writing. But that's only my opinion of course. The show still left a backdoor open. I hope the audience got fooled.
This is a really well written drama. Plotwise it reminds me more of western shows. Also the evolution of the relationship has a western pace. It's refreshing that they don't stick to typical kdrama structure and just tell the story for the stories sake. For me this is the best ongoing show. But I just started We are all trying here which shapes up to be an excellent story too.
I hope the SML doesn't stay the second fiddle. Steve Noh is too good to just play that. I hope for him to get another arc. I wouldn't mind him thawing the ice queen. Lol They'll make an interesting pair.
have a question and I may be way off base, but were the Grand Prince and the king's mother an item at some point?…
I've read the comments too regarding this. So far I couldn't see any romantic interest, just hostility and fear that the prince minimizes her power over the throne.
I just started this. I think the actors are doing a wonderful job, especially the queen. I liked the actress in Are you human as well. IUs role reminds me in parts of her role in Hotel de luna. And BWS and the Steve Noh both are convincing so far. The wole drama has a similar vibe like King the land. The cinematography is very clean and glossy. The highlight is Yoo So Bin so far. He's always a scene stealer. I'd love to see him getting a lead role. The plot is the only thing that's a bit generic so far and the character of the Fl - although very funny - seems a bit uneven. But it's a decent watch. IU and the male leads have good chemistry.
At least the ML is a good ex husband. How refreshing.
And ... for a kdrama a ML with a former relationship is completely new territory. I love it!
But that's just my two cents. Feel free to disagree.

which is surprising because we didn't get any romance for years except Perfect crown.
