I like your comment. The scenario should be realistic. Break ups happen. I'd like to see a drama where it is shown that even though your relationship was good for many years things may end eventually even if no one did something wrong. I'd like to see a bold kdrama where both parts move on with new people who are presented nice and worthy. I ended a long relationship 22 years ago after I met my spouse and have been with him for that amount of time while my ex found his new partner a year after our breakup and married her as well. She fits him much better than me. Both of us have happy families now. Everything turned out really well.
This was a fun watch. I especially loved the FL. I loved the actress before and I like that she gives the viewer a really badass vibe but still feels dorky. LOL I prefererd Jung Hae In in other dramas though. Maybe it was the haircut. LOL. He felt a bit stiff here. Seeing my fave Lee Jun Young appear near the end made me wish, he would have taken the role of ML. But Hae In did well. I also really loved the villagers - especially the three S.E.S.-girls. And the actor who played the psychatrist was funny as always. The story was mostly well paced although I wish people in kdramas wouldn´t have these intertwined lives all the time. Not everyone you meet should be an important person of your past. The story would have worked without family ties.
im not trying to be a hater, i actually really like kim hye jun for her acting in a shop for killers and connect,…
I agree that her "misssteps" were a bit much regarding the little amount of time the leads know each other. Also getting really drunk twice felt a bit repetitive and not very up to date. But I think her character will get toned down a bit as the show goes on. They tried to present her as clumsy and energetic as possible to mixed results. But overall it'll be okay I guess. The actress can pull it off. She also did in Cashhero where I didn't like her character at all but she kinda redeemed herself in the end.
This started like an asian version of Bridget Jones. The FL jumps from one embarassing scenario to the next. Not every joke is landing but it's pure comedy so far and as that it works. I like the actors and will continue watching.
I have no problem with SIG choosing another character working in an office as long as his character isn't a stoic one like in the last two kdramas. To be fair... the last two stories have been quite different and in BOD he kinda played two characters to full effect. Nice to see him back in the fantasy genre.
I’m probably not the only one who has noticed this, but Korean dramas have really lost their touch when it comes…
I kinda agree regarding this years output so far. But it depends on taste of course. I loved Can this love be translated amd Yumi cells 3 though. Doctor on the edge, Boyfriend on demand and See you at work tomorrow where good but not stellar. I didn't like how Perfect crown and My royal nemesis have been wrapped up but was entertained for about half the time. In cdrama there was more light than shadow for me so far. Love between the lines, Love for you and Road to success were great. I enjoyed Speed and love too. But I quit many of this years historical ones very fast ( f.e. Overdo, The glory) except for Pursuit of Jade and How dare you.
It's not just youm I liked the second couple but they acted too wodden for me mist of the time, especially the…
I get you. But to be fair - the acting felt wooden from almost everybody in SYAWT. So probably he had to act like that. I watched him in Bitch and rich 2 (which was an awful sequel IMO) but there he felt livelier. I give him the benefit of the doubt. Poor guy had to work with purple hair and somehow managed to look good. So I guess that counts. Lol
I really liked the beginning but it felt like as the show went on and the closer they got, the less chemistry…
It's not just youm I liked the second couple but they acted too wodden for me mist of the time, especially the SML. I liked that they didn't go the usual route at the end though.
This drama had very well-developed characters, mature dialogues and an interesting story. I should have loved it way more and like the reviewer above I think the drama was missing something. For me it felt strangely clean at times starting from the sets to the stoic way the four main actors acted. Everything felt a bit too toned down. SIG can play very diverse characters and I think he played the introverted stoic boss well. I just wish, the other characters wouldn't feel the same way. Only the FLs parents and the villain-boss provided a little bit more liveliness for me. But my criticism aside I must say that this drama had many good things going for it and I enjoyed it thoughout its run. It also felt very well paced.
I loved everything about this drama but I'd give special praise to the OST , the ML, the queen dowanger and the cute little ghost. FL was good too. I liked her in another drama as well and am looking forward to her next steps.
anyone watched road to success??? is it good, worth a try??
I watched it at the same time. It's a bit fluffier than this one although there are high stakes too. But there's much more comic relief and a lot of pep talk too.
She had exes, but honestly, I think she only dated Cen Ye because his name was so similar to Chen Yi's! As for…
I actually liked that she dated others. That's normal and healthy regarding the way ChenYi left her. I wish he would have dated too. That doesn't take away their devotion for each other.
This probably became my second fave cdrama this year. With POJ beeing my fave this tops the modern genre for me. The couple was heartbreaking abd heartwarming at the same time. And I am happy to say that SWL was perfectly cast in this role. I couldn't finish Shine on me because he felt so stiff in it and the story had basically no stakes. I tried several times. But now I think it was badically the script and probably his role. He's a good actor.
omg thanks @MOntfan2026 I came looking for a comment who talked about the romance and how is it going so far and…
Oh.. ok. I get that. But in my opinion the romance is still the biggest plot out of several others. I think it feels more like an ensemble drama like f.e. Love for you which concentrates mostly on the leads. But I'd say 60 percent is still romance.

IMO there has been enough romance in the show so far. It's clear that thry like each other but circumstance prevented them from getting together. The romance isn't the only arc here. It's interwoven with the other plots. Unlike many others here I think this dramas strong point is that there's more than one plot and the sude characters get their spotlight from time to time. It's more like western dramas are built and has an episodic feel sometimes rather than feeling like a long book.

I'm a very late GenX person;-)
