Ep 6 was definitely wrong on so many levels. I think they savagely missed the mark on Yongjie's characterization. Instead of an aloof, antisocial, doesn't trust people but can eventually learn to, kinda character...we get creepy, manipulative, extremely sociopathic stalking rapist. Hell, not that this is any better, but if they had both been equally drunk and he confessed his feelings while intoxicated and they slept together it could be written off as a drunken one night stand where both parties could be held accountable to their individual actions. But this was a pre-meditated rape which is just wrong and not something that should be shown in a series tagged as a romance because it is anything but romantic and yes, they should know by now that people don't like stuff like that. It's even worse that in the teaser for the next episode, Mu Ren is being assaulted by a co-worker and it's probably going to be brushed aside because "They don't want to deal with the drama" or "Nothing serious happened" as if that somehow excuses everything and just allows a sexual predator to continue doing bad things. I'm so sick of series not highlighting how dangerous and scarring sexual assault of any kind is, to a guy or a girl, it's used as a plot point and they just accept it as one of those things that just happen, rather than getting any actual justice for it or dishing out some lawful punishment. To be honest, I will continue watching and keeping my fingers crossed for a better ending for this and some serious character development and if it doesn't work out that way, then I can at least say with all honesty that it sucked.
I really don't get this drama... Why are all these woman being forced to marry just for sleeping with someone? It's so confusing. If it had been a more old times setting I would understand but this is a modern era drama so it just makes no sense. For the protagonist maybe, but not all of them. Also regardless of Tos's feelings for Bow, the one thing I can't accept is him forcing Pong to stay with his seriously psychotic sister when he knows that she ruined this innocent mans life, this is also after Bow has agreed to marry him so technically he doesn't even need to keep them apart anymore because he has her now. Another disappointment is that she spent the whole first episode crying over being raped and being terrified of him, and I get that as she gets to know him she's less afraid, but who agrees to a marriage without bringing up something like that? It's like it's been completely forgotten, especially since he told her he filmed it. They should have tackled that before getting more into the romance side of things...
Do you want to place any bets on who killed Torfun?
Tian passed out before he could race, and I doubt his friends would go ahead with it when their friend just collapsed. It could be his father or maybe the guy he challenged to race... Or bigger conspiracy...it seems the military guys are trying to break down some crime ring, as seen when they were having that shoot out, and Phu wanted to know the boss, so maybe they killed her purposefully to get to him...just speculation though...
Maybe it's because I've been waiting so long for this, but this was a perfect start to this series. It somehow felt very refreshing and I'm praying for that to continue for all the episodes. Fingers crossed...
To be honest, I could deal with everything (sans the rape attempt) this series threw out. Homophobe who just oh-so-suddenly had feelings for his friends-Fine Idiot who couldn't see his friends were gay-Seen more stupid then him Trash ex-girlfriend trying to come between them even though there is no relationship to salvage-Cliché Annoying and pushy fujoshi's- Gotta have 'em in a BL What I couldn't accept though was how everyone just pandered to the piece of shit, homophobic, misogynistic, grandchild obsessed father. He's forcing his son, whom he supposedly knew was gay before even Ton did, to get with a woman and have a baby, was just plain sick. Treating his daughter like a baby machine and pressuring both his kids for children when they'll have them in their own good time is just not on. Instead of using Miriam as a surrogate so that they could have permission to be together, which they shouldn't need to ask for, the better ending would be to say "Hey, I'm in a relationship with another man whom I love and you're just going to have to deal with it, if we decide to one day have kids together then that is our choice." The father didn't even have to agree to it, but maybe instead show him coming around to accepting their relationship, also learning and growing, because frankly that would be way more realistic. And leave the Miriam as a surrogate as an option she gives them "Hey, if you two want to be parents one day, I would be happy to carry the baby for you" That would have been a wonderful message to portray rather than, have a baby and I'll let you two be together. So very disappointing and frankly disgusting.
The ice hockey coach is so irritating. She judges Sang Tian for hiding her identity without bothering to find out why she did what she did and then left her fucking hanging for goodness knows how long before she made a decision. She's not a very good coach because half the time, Wen Bing is telling them what to do in their practice times and she's just yelling at them for doing something wrong. Also her romance with the uncle...she's so not worth it. She sees him hugging someone and instead of asking what the problem is (since it was her junior) she just flips out and ghosts him when he sincerely tries to make amends. Then she starts dating some random and creepy looking convince store owner (who can afford to buy her expensive clothes?) who tells her what to eat and how to dress, and talks inappropriately about her body to her face, instead of forgiving the guy who genuinely likes her. Really, just a horrible woman. But the rest of the series is really, super cute.
This...sucked.... I always looked forward to Fridays because of this series, it was so fun and even though the plot wasn't original that was still ok, because the awesome chemistry made up for it and it felt like they were building up to something. Chemistry declined as soon as they became a "couple". I'm not saying we need hot and heavy scenes like Why R U or TharnType but a kiss? A cuddle? hand holding? Why can't they put something like that in? How do you have a series where boyfriends don't even hold each other's hands? Or even have a real proper kiss? And here i thought they were moving away from those fake wooden kisses that have plagued drama's for far too long. This was a big disappointment and it wasn't just the lack of affection that was the problem, once again it's another show that brought in way too many side characters and did nothing with them. The side characters had potential but the story was wasted on useless plot tropes that took away from what could have been a really good series.
This certainly wasn't the best drama I've ever watched before but if there's one thing that keeps me interested, it's good chemistry. And boy oh boy did this series have that. They were just so comfortable with each other and that is pretty commendable, those kisses were out of this world and not something you see at all in a BL, so score. There were plenty of other things and characters that could have been touched on or developed more but at the end of the day this is just something to pass the time and honestly i have no regrets. I enjoyed it for what it was and i will definitely miss having something to watch on my boring Friday evenings.
Fluffy, cute, sexy...I really did enjoy this episode. However there are many things that are just frustrating me a lot at this point. Saifah and Zon really aren't getting the screen time they deserve, we can all agree on that. All those drawn out cutesy scenes of Tutor and Fighter could have been used to give the other couple a bit more than a cuddle scene (Really sweet but not long enough) Tutor and Fighter are nice together and while i don't mind relationships happening fast since this is a BL after all, it just feels like they're more in lust with each other rather than in love with each other. Another thing that really confused me and that makes no sense to the story is Tutor's backstory. I mean he was scrambling for part time work, having like three jobs to help get rid of a debt but his mother lived in a fancy house with a pool and wore a pearl necklace and got her son a condo? How the hell does that even work? Maybe it makes more sense in the book but it was just weird and out of place in the series. Also, i get that the book has a lot of characters in it but rather don't put them in the series if you're just going to do absolutely nothing with them. There are so many side characters that do nothing for the story that i have to suddenly remind myself to care about in the two seconds they appear on screen. I like this series, it is pretty well done and I'll watch it to end but so far i'm not overly impressed. (One a side not, the animations at the end are really cute)
I really like this series. It's cute and fluffy and feeds my BL loving soul. However...I'm getting a bit tired of the repetitiveness. Maybe if there was something else going on, not an antagonist per say but some kind of excitement. Right now this series just serves as 45 min break in the boredom of my Saturday nights. Not anything I'd really re-watch or want to go through the effort of showing someone else. Still adorable though.
Ok, i'm going to rant a bit because if i don't get this out it's going to eat at me. I was FURIOUS halfway through when i realized that YXG died, i mean what the actual fuck??? Where in your minds did you think it was right to kill off the main character? The series is called Make Our Days Count but his death wasn't even shown and it was so sudden and out of the blue, what exactly did they do to make their days count? They didn't have a chance. It was sad and unnecessary, YXG was so young and he was just accepting that his life could be happy and that he wasn't alone. I'm not saying don't make it realistic but i didn't come here for that, i came for a nice happy drama and i really had to force myself to finish this last episode. There were honestly a lot of things they could have done if they wanted it to be realistic, growing apart, not being able to handle long distance if YXG went to America, plenty of things, so why death? At least with the other two options they could have had a decent open ending, like there was a possibility they still had feelings for each other and wanted to reconcile. That being said, as the episode got closer to the end it was very hard to completely hate it. The acting was so raw and and tender, it made you feel like you were experiencing it yourself. What do you do when someone you loved that much, leaves without a goodbye and you're forced to live your life acting like you're fine? The fact that he got through his studies and traveled everywhere just to be closer to him shows his level of love for YXG. That scene where he saw the two young boys in love was equally sad as he thought back to his own special times with YXG. The ending where he said he was moving on with his life, not forgetting YXG but keeping him in his heart, and wanting to experience life again and meet new people was very nicely done because it symbolized how strong he was for not giving up. What was also unnecessary was the YXG doppelganger, that didn't need to be in there, it felt too cruel and did nothing for the plot and was just plain confusing. I have such a love-hate for this, i don't even know whether to be angry or happy. No ways in hell will i ever re-watch this series, but i will say i watched it, i liked it, i hated it, i don't feel like i wasted my time on it. That's all i can do at this point.
I have a theory. YXG has been shown to be a little inattentive when walking i.e that time XHT saved him from being hit by a motorbike, so he might be hit by a car or something. His aunt will probably want him to go to America for treatment and so that XHT doesn't give up college to accompany him, YXG will probably leave without telling him. Years later they'll meet up and tell each other that they never stopped loving each other... It'll break my heart but i can accept such a story line.
This was equal parts romantic, heartbreaking and just full on awesome. SBX and LZG...whoa, that was an intense scene in the beginning and not one I was expecting but sometimes surprises truly are the best and you gotta love how assertive SBX was. Their chemistry finally feels more natural to me, especially when LZG was going on about having faith in their relationship to SBX cousin. (The condom scene was hilarious) XHT and YXG...I loved how they were so comfortable with each other and their kiss was so steamy and nicely done, like they only had eyes for each other...and then it was ruined. It broke my heart watching XHT cry like that while trying to be brave for YXG and thinking that he would leave him. I honestly thought YXG was going to break up with him and we would have like two episodes of angst and pining, but YXG stood up to the parents and basically said 'I'm not giving up" which isn't something you usually see. It's always these stupid and pointless martyr breakups that make both sides miserable before they FINALLY come to their senses. This was a perfect episode, this series is growing on me more and more.
This was a very sweet episode, with lots of fluff and romance. XHT reactions to YXG are so cute and adorably over the top. I really like that he's making his interest very obvious but also not forcing YXG to like him as can be seen in most other dramas where the male leads get so pushy with their feelings and indignant that the other person doesn't like them back. XHT is simply being there for him and giving him all the love that he didn't have before by telling him that he can rely on him. LZG and SBX are getting a lot cuter to me, not that they weren't before, but it's cuter now and their kiss was awesome and nicely done. I look forward to seeing how their relationship develops. All in all it was one of those cute filler episodes before shit happens which it undoubtedly will, so appreciate the cute stuff now.
Hmm, while the progression of everyone's relationships is still a bit fast i am getting used to it at this point and it's so damn adorable. XHT gushing over YXG and wanting his pictures is just the cutest thing in the world, he's so sincere in his liking of him and i really appreciated that he broke up with his girlfriend and told YXG that he had. Their kiss was very sweet and genuine and when YXG told him that he didn't like guys, you could tell he wasn't all that sure of himself. Even if it is a bit fast, it's understandable since they're teenagers and they want everything in the here and now. SBX and LZG...I'm not feeling them as a couple just yet, it happened way too fast and in a way that makes it seem like it won't last, like they'll be too co-dependent on each other. I wish there had been a bit more effort on both parts before deciding on a relationship...only time will tell however and i hope we see a bit more chemistry between them.
XHT already liking YXG was a bit sudden for me, i thought there would be a bigger build up to his feelings for him but altogether I'm not complaining. What i do have a problem with is, while it brave to go after your crush and not wait for them to magically take notice of you, there are better ways of doing it. XHT and SBX are both flinging their feelings at these two guys without taking into consideration how they must feel or what they're going through. YXG is understandably wary and XHT still has a girlfriend so naturally he's not going to fall for a few small gestures that he believes aren't sincere, one can only hope that XHT breaks up with his girlfriend before continuing to pursue YXG. LZG is also understandably on the fence, he obviously has some feelings for SBX but can't act on it because frankly age does play a huge factor in it since he's still in high school, not sure what Taiwan's age of consent is but SBX is probably still underage. Regardless i hope the couples do work out because they're adorable and i can't wait to see their chemistry grow as the story progresses.
I think they savagely missed the mark on Yongjie's characterization.
