Honestly, other than our lead couple, everyone else in this drama is annoying to me. Jun Cheng and his parents, Wang Ruo Hai and his girlfriend, the ML's ex... ahh! Every time one of them appears on screen, they test my patience.
Although I know that our bearded second male lead and Grandpa's very good grandson are the same person, I still can't believe it whenever I see him with and without the beard. The difference in his appearance is just incredible.
When I watch this as an ongoing drama, it feels like I've time-travelled. Compared to VOS, seeing Zeng Shunxi and TJR hereātheir acting, screen presence, and visualsā everything feels young.
I mean you can say the same about her she was not in that either that relationship was dead awhile ago i think.
Yes, of course, he has changed a lot. That's exactly my point. He treats his landlord with more care and consideration than he ever showed his ex-girlfriend. That's the issue I have.
I can understand and even accept the FL's behavior. She was loyal to him, cared deeply about him, and was genuinely invested in the relationship, yet he was the one who ended it. What I struggle to accept is the ML's behavior before the breakup. Even if his ex had flaws, he never seemed emotionally present in the relationship. It often felt like he had already lost interest and was simply waiting for it to end.
That's why I find it hard to sympathize with him in that part of the story.
I know the ML's ex is portrayed as a gold digger, but I still think he was quite indifferent toward her. Yes, he spent money on her, but while watching those episodes, I actually felt that I would have broken up with him too if I had a boyfriend like that. He didn't seem to care about her nearly as much as he cared about his landlord.
Sometimes it even felt like he was already tired of the relationship. The way he acted made it seem as if he had emotionally checked out long before the breakup happened. Honestly, I didn't think the breakup would affect him that much because he looked like someone who was already expecting it to happen.
Let's put the dubbing issues aside for a second. Guys, I don't know if anyone else feels the same way, but I had this feeling from the very first time I read the synopsis. I ignored it because I hadn't watched the drama yet.
Now I've finally watched it and just finished the first two episodes, but I can't shake this feeling anymore. Watching it feels like watching a mini drama with longer episode lengths. The storyline, production, costumes, characters, and even the overall atmosphere give me strong mini-drama vibes. The FL, ML, and SML all feel like characters straight out of a mini drama.
I really want to enjoy and continue watching it, but I just can't get rid of this feeling that I'm watching a mini drama stretched into full-length episodes.
