Su Jingzhu a veteran undercover cop bumbles into what is obviously a tricky hostage situation like a love sick…
Forgot to add the main point lol. That him blowing up with Long ge would've been satisfying for me, as a sort of emotional release. That the ending that aired didn't really give me. I mean logically it's still fine, but emotionally it's just meh..;)

To me, it seemed like he was disconnected from his feelings as a result of his job - not the starting point. Like, there were a lot of moments in the drama where it looked like he struggled to stay emotionally detached. Was buying that ring really fake? I don't think so, or I hope not:) I mean his story works for me best, if I look at him starting out as a blank page, but continuing on fighting to bring about a better world for his loved ones...

Omg I totally forgot about the Chen Mo kid!! You're right that arc got completely abandoned. I thought they were gonna show that guy again - his reaction, if he was the kid's father as the photo by the door suggested, and how did Xiang end up in his house - cause that was one hell of a coincidence... On that note, whose body was in the grave?
I also thought it was gonna get tied up at the end as the reason for his perseverance! Instead, they added that scene with the blank page.... Sigh, maybe revenge was too un-policemanly for the powers that be?
I get it. I also hoped we'd see him remove his mask by the end and show some of his true emotions. A blow-up with Long ge could've worked great as story finale and an emotional closure in one.
Right! Still, could've spared a few seconds to show her running around and cutting the wires - like that scene with boss Lu - then maybe I wouldn't have that unpleasant 'wtf are we starting with clichés at the eleventh hour?!' moment...
The one where she was walking holding the bomb? I just didn't read it correctlythen. They could've just showed sitting with her head between her knees or sth. ...or I'm just prejudiced against women fainting in dramas, cause it's usually a sign of bad writing:D

You know, if this was a Western drama, I'd say they WERE setting this up for a 2nd season, and knew that Song Yi wouldn't be back, so they hastily maybe-killed her... Most of the last episode didn't even feel like a grand finale. No closure for Long ge (never expected him to leave that center tbh), but also no Liao, A-xi or the landlady. Maybe I'm less disappointed cause my expectations for a satisfactory ending were below zero;)
ep 19-20...How did the officer Hao die... Im so lost, then ep seems all over the place, the way the "memory scenes"…
No, I think his death was supposed to be just this accidental. It actually felt realistic to me, cause I could feel his frustration, feeling like he's fighting windmills. I would be very unsuitable for this kind of job, so I empathize;).
I like her. She's got skills, smarts and agency. But true, she's not the one driving the plot. In this set-up…
Just finished the drama. And all I'm gonna say is they could've done much better with this character. Or maybe that cast lineup is just misleading - this is a Li Yifeng drama, then a group of maybe 6 other leads...

Yes to all! It was maddening. I was shouting insults for good 5 minutes at my TV. Cause wtf were they thinking?! You don't develop a strong character through 24 eps just to throw a stinking OOC bomb ten minutes before the end!!! But you know c-dramaland endings... I decided to just let it go.
Also think that last villain was unnecessary. Finale with song cai would've been much better. Still, I enjoyed it until 10mins before the end, so I'm pretty happy overall. Though I'll probably end up dropping my rating after I have more time to think;)

A-hao died because he was too impatient/impulsive:( With that message about sacrifice, it felt a little like they wanted to pay tribute to real young policemen like him or sth. Btw saw a lot of Chinese fans saying that Liao and Yu boss could be the final big bad… so be prepared it may not be the last of the police that got corrupted;D
I don't even know who Liao Yongjia is anymore. He's got some effed up thought processes...Didn't you guys find…
Yeah, I'm not saying it's a bug or anything. Just storywise sort of anticlimactic… like the way they built him up, he should've been a much harder target? Didn't he have a contingency plan or sth? Or maybe it's because we didn't see how they broke through his security. Made it feel too easy. Reading your comment about him and Pala being lovers, makes me even more disappointed that he got killed without achieving his revenge. He could've at least taken that smug 2nd in command with him...
bro who is good and badone minute it is yu,the next is liao another mins both are good, another minute both are…
Lol true, I think they overdid it a little on the twists and turns with those two. I mean when I watch the show everything seems pretty tigthly linked and controlled. But then when you take a step back, it's more like a cubist painting... it's hard to tell what shape they were supposed to be...

Right? I could've sworn they were setting him up for the final showdown at first. Tbh he seemed more complex and interesting to me than the hamburger guy.
Ok, from ep16 onward this has become such a mindfuck 😲💨 and not slowing down the pace even for a second……

Didn't you guys find it weird that Song Cai who's been amassing a private army and preparing to deal with Cai Zhiming for 5 years got taken out this easily? I don't know, I feel like they gave so much screen time to his story, that his exit was too abrupt.
Btw I knew XiangLong brotherhood was unbreakable;)) Can't believe they forgot about Long ge when they were searching for the girl - he's always in Xiang's business smh. Plus his big purchases should've been easy enough to trace, I think.
I miss A-xi, hope we get some more happy moments before the end.

And yes, you're absolutely right - there's really no excuse for killing her off in such a stupid way:/
