Sameee! I'm curious about who'll get casted as them too, I kind of want Wang Ruichang to play He Xuan though.…
Yeah I honestly have no idea who should play Qi Rong either, it's really tricky since I can't remember anyone who resembles Neo Hou. But for Pei Ming, what do you think about Li Hongyi? I think he would really suit a chaotic yet lovable character like him XD and not to mention, he looks great in an armour in 'Winner is King'.

And guess what? Ding Cheng Xin also became my ideal choice for Hua Cheng after watching him in Painted Skin just like you. Seems like we're secretly long lost twins lol.
After watching Ding Cheng Xin in the painted skin he became my pick for Hua Cheng. as for Neo Hou I watched him…

Well because wang yi bo and xiao zhan are pretty boys and have the same wavelength of charm (great chemistry).…
I admit it would be a pretty interesting show but I think it can also cause more harm than good since the actors who didn't get chosen might feel discouraged or their rabid fanbase would try to boycott the drama.

Yeah and how did we discover their amazing chemistry, from watching the drama or judging them purely by their appearances right after they got casted? Probably after watching them bring their characters to life in The Untamed, right? So I honestly don't get why you're assuming NH and DCX wouldn't have a chemistry as good as theirs already, and since you've said yourself that both the budget and expectations for this adaption are high—why do still believe the team would mess it up by choosing bad actors? They're not that dumb lol.
Also, neither Wang Yibo nor Xiao Zhan were 'high level' actors or had much experience when they got casted, most of us wouldn't have even heard of such amazing actors if they never got a chance to show their potential in TU simply due to being newbies. In conclusion, there's nothing wrong with some new faces.
Alright let's be honest, it's not that we can't see the rumoured cast as hualian, we've been just expecting them to resemble their characters in the Manhua and Donghua versions of tgcf all this time... But let's not forget 'The Untamed' cast didn't look even close to their Manhua and Donghua versions either—yet I think we all can agree they're one of the best casting decisions ever made, and the hate Wang Yibo received for looking 'too young' to play Lan Zhan in the past was completely unreasonable. So let's not repeat the history by calling Ding Cheng Xin baby-faced and not 'manly' enough to be Hua Cheng or Neo Hou not 'feminine' enough to be Xie Lian. I've always wanted Song Jiyang to play Xie Lian instead but I believe the Tgcf team knows what they're doing so I'm willing to see outside my biased perspective.
Idk about Neo Hou because I haven't seen any of his works but trust me, Ding Cheng Xin is a great choice for Hua Cheng!! he might look pretty young in his modern pics (well, because he IS young lol) but he looks a lot different and mature in ancient clothing. You all should give his short movie 'Painted Skin' a try, It's just a 30 mins long bl and he plays a pretty-but-deadly character there who has a really similar demeanour to Hua Cheng, but here's a few screenshots I took if you're not in mood to check out PS yet: https://i.mydramalist.com/2BQB2_3f.jpg / https://i.mydramalist.com/0E4jO_3f.jpg
This is absolutely amazing!!! There is a rumor going on that Ding Cheng Xin will be the lead for HOB after seeing…
Omg he might be in heaven official's blessing? I swear just a day ago I was thinking about how much he resembles Hua Cheng in the Painted Skin remake. It'll be a dream come true if he got casted as him in Tgcf!
They're episode reviewers who test episodes before they get broadcasted and offer constructive criticism to the makers if there's anything lacking in the drama.
Imagine Wen Kexing ever teaching Cheng Ling martial arts and when he asks for their name (like Ye Baiyi did) WK replies with "Beating my son on a rainy day just because I can"...
Here's what the insiders who've tried a few episodes of hyx said about it:
“The leads’ CP feels (chemistry) are quite obvious, and they’ve kept the classic scenes and lines, including the two marriage scenes. Regarding boy-to-girl swap of a character, to be honest I think it’s alright. It’s the same as in the original novel, because smj’s character is just trying to survive amidst the conflict, survival and finishing his business is his priority (which means there won't be any forced romantic scenes between her and Mo Ran).
Her replies to the comments: Fan: For those who haven’t read the original novel but are interested in hyx, what is txj’s first appearance in the show like? The viewer: There’s one camera shot that really makes you scream.
Fan: Does it have too much torture? (referring to Taxian Jun torturing Chu Wanning). The viewer: Extremely.

"I promise you guys, after watching a few episodes of Haoyixing, it's obvious they've spent a lot of money on it. Personally, I think the styling is the best among the current bl adaptations, both of their outfits look great, especially Chen Feiyu's. Friends who've read the novel said the plot stays close to the novel, Keeping all of the original lines, even the iconic line from the ending was kept. As a non-novel fan, got cp feels (bromance/chemistry) from it too. The angst is satisfying. Regarding people's uproar about Shimei, because I didn't see too much of her so can't tell it exists. We should just focus on the end product (over rumours) instead. I believe hyx will explode in popularity."
Reading their unbiased opinions on this drama really assured me. Especially the second viewer's, Since he's a guy who hasn't even read the novel yet he can see ranwan's chemistry so it must be quite obvious. Now, they're to blame for the mess of a person I’ll become when hyx finally airs. :))
