Nonexistent. Even my delusional spidey senses couldn't detect a crumb of bromance between them, but I assure you that there's no need for any romance in this drama at all. It's worth watching for the intriguing story and the well-written characters alone.
honesty me to, as long as the actors have chemistry and portray the characters correctly i’ll be happy.
Who wouldn't be? We all are fans of the original novel here, So of course everyone wants to see a cast who can portray the characters well. The point is just because an actor got suggested due to resembling XL/HC look-wise, it doesn't mean they can't act. It's alright if you don't care about whether they look like the characters or not, but it's not nice to insult the actor's talent just because you disagree with their fans. That's all.
I really liked this documentary so I saw a few interviews of Li Weiyi and realised that there's a tiny detail about Green's backstory that wasn't told in the movie:
"Therefore, the villagers decided to kill the mother wolf as well. They put out poisoned meat, because they thought that would be the best way to kill the wolf while keeping her fur in good condition so they could see it later. To their surprise, while the mother wolf did eat the poisoned meat, she scratched her own skin up before death."
They only said she purposely ate the poisoned food to commit suicide but they didn't translate that she also scratched her own fur, which makes this all even more heartbreaking.
Heard Immortality's spin off is called "龙城宝刀 / Dragon City" and it will be focusing on Xue Meng and Mei Hanxue's story. Now I'm even more excited for hyx than I already was!!
A short summary of this comment section: 15% Excited fans who had no idea Tgcf was getting a drama adaption. 25% Users peacefully discussing which actors should get casted for XL and HC. 20% Fandom wars for no reason, when both side's faves are equally amazing actors. 40% "I'm here for the ~A C T I N G~ idc care about looks I have just hope the actors they cast can ~A C T~" - aka blatantly assuming the actors who got suggested so far can't act and only got a pretty face, without even seeing any of their works...
'Winner is King'?? C'mon China, stop the stupid English titles!
Honestly 'Kill the Wolves' (it's alternative English title) isn't much better either... Both titles are kind of weird but at least 'Winner is King' makes sense when you consider the novel's ending. Sha Po Lang still would've been the best title though.
Chen Feiyu really went from playing Ning Que who shakes the world with his gorgeous calligraphy, to Mo Ran who barely writes at all yet still shakes the world figuratively and literally with his actions... We love a diverse king.
Not a single bl adaptation having a fixed date to give us... how much will have to wait for it... evn immortality…
Cdramas in general are like that. It seems to be a trend between them to keep the release date hidden just to suddenly drop all the episodes in one day.
I know I'm reaching but what if Song Jiyang cross dressed in this drama tho? lgbtq content is banned but it's not that unusual to see cross dressing in cdramas (like in The Sleuth of Ming Dynasty, Dance of the Sky Empire and Once Upon a Time in Lingjian Mountain) and Cao Niangzi was pretty fond of dressing up as a woman in spl... So shall I expect a bit more and plan my funeral already. I mean, one can at least dream right? ^^;
Are we really expecting it to be a finished product so soon?
Nah we're just excited about hyx and joking that it's hard to wait anymore, How's that the same as forcing them to hurry? There's no need to take it so seriously.
After 2 lifetimes
After 3799 steps
After 311 chapters
After 1 year of waiting
There's still no trailer in sight...
