Fun fact about Marika: She guest starred in Doctor X and was praised a lot for her looks in it.
I didn't get it until I looked up a much younger actress, and found a photobook on a website. I saw a more expensive photobook by Marika on the recommended list lol
She really is a big deal. I think the lab coat in Doctor X just didn't do her justice.
Seeing her photobook, I understood the jokes more.
She is considered so pretty that she can live off just her looks. It makes sense

Very true. I recall a customer who was a crush of the male lead. I think I was played by Yui Ichikawa. I initially thought Erika Toda. The customers were relevant to the plot in season 1. I guess this is why it is hard for sequels to do well when the original is so good. At least we don't get 10 seasons line US TV series lol

I found his character unnecessary. The cast was already big enough. I wanted their backstories to be explored or to see charactergrowth of the old cast.
It felt like a wasted opportunity. I am not looking forward to season 3

Hhaha, it usually gets brushed off too easily in dramas.
I dont particularly like the friends to lovers trope but its the only one where the male lead is nice so I end up watching it a lot.
I think enemies to lovers trope is too hard to stomach since the male lead spends more than half the drama being an asshole that I just dont buy how the female lead falls for him, unless she is a masochist
Well, slap and kiss genre exists for a reason but its not for me

Hong Bira is reason enough to watch this.

I think this is better because it is simpler.
Love Next Door is trying to tackle many issues at once.
And some are quite complicated.
This having fewer episodes is also a bonus as it won't drag no matter how badly the Screenwriters mess up lol

This drama is a masterpiece. I was too young to get it at first.
It was nice for once for there to be consequences for the asshole male lead.
