this....is truly.. just magnificent... i loved this drama so much and personally for me, there weren't any boring episodes at all. I loved it because each episode came with a twist, and the way how the male leads acted their assess off! i was so invested that i didn't even notice how i finished this drama in just a day. It simply was too good. The fact that the two of them would go to hell and back for one another, that's the chemistry i'd die for! tension was alwaaays insane betweeen them also🤧 argh im going to be so annoying talking about this series istg.
Will probably read the webtoon or novel first to see why ORV fans dislike it
Yes, please do! because honestly, it’s frustrating that they even call this an adaptation of Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint when so many core elements were changed.. The original novel offers so much more depth, and while the cast itself was strong, many performances didn’t capture the essence of the characters as written. That’s why a lot of ORV fans feel disappointed with the adaptation.
If you’re here for the plot, I’d definitely recommend diving into the novel or the webtoon instead. Both deliver the story in its full richness, while the movie feels more like a watered-down version. At the end of the day, it’s your choice—but if you want the real ORV experience, the novel and comic are the way to go.
Why am i seeing Su Beilu haters here? he's literally the reason im watching this show — he's not just plainly dumb, he's just kind and really caring that it may be too much but his character is really comforting
the cinematography is so goood, its so refreshing to the eyes, the last bromance cdrama i saw with this level was Justice in the dark and now i found this gem oh my!
I just finished the novel, so of course I had to check out the drama adaptation and see the characters come to life. The book had me hooked—especially Zhao Yunlan’s personality and the whole SID family—so I went in with pretty high expectations. By episode 7 though, I have to admit I was a bit thrown off. The switch from gods, demons, and ghosts to aliens was… a lot. Honestly, it almost made me stop watching because it felt so far from the original vibe and left me kind of confused T_T
But here’s the thing: the casting is ABSOLUTELY perfect! Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan’s actors bring so much to their roles that every time they’re on screen together, it just feels magical. Shen Wei’s subtle expressions say so much without words that I literally have to pause and admire his acting—he is Shen Wei. And Zhao Yunlan? He was already my biggest crush in the book, but the actor captured him exactly how I imagined, down to the way he moves. OMG, it’s impossible not to swoon! Their chemistry is so strong that it completely carries the show, even when the plot changes feel questionable.
Honestly, if it weren’t for these two leads, I don’t think I’d still be watching. They make the adaptation worth it, and at this point, I can’t imagine anyone else playing them. It really feels like they are Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan. And now, whenever I reread the novel, I know I’ll be picturing their faces every single time HAHA
I'll just continue watching, im a simp forZhao Yunlan so i cant help but just look forward to him appearing on screen every damn time. Im sorry Shen Wei, your 'husband' is just too beautiful >-<
