How I wish they filmed until the end of book 8, sigh.....

I have never gotten attached to certain actor in The Lost Tomb series before. But now I am certainly getting attached to this Zhang Qi Ling actor. Not to mention his nuances when acted as Zhang Qi Ling, his fight scenes are superb. I notice there is nearly no slow motion used in his fighting scene. And the way he moves is so fluid and graceful. I am not ready for another actor acting as Zhang Qi Ling.

As far as I know, the next installment of The Lost Tomb series will be Heavenly Palace (set before Ultimate Note) and the cast is already set. I can only hope that when they film book 8, they will use Xiao Yu Liang as Zhang Qi Ling.

I am quitting romance drama for now. Needs some detoxing from annoying, entitled, damsel in distress, "better than man" kind of FL that fester in today dramas.

I have Hikaru no Go, Ultimate Note, and Psych Hunter line up to be watched until a better drama comes out this year.

Just watch the livestream. Don't understand anything but the interaction of the iron triangle put smile on my face. They are indeed seems very comfortable with each other. I saw they were very comfortable touching each other. Read the comment under the video in weibo. Lots of people actually wish they re-do the entire main series using this iron triangle, hahahahaha. Somehow, I do wish the same.

By the way, I really have to commend Zeng Shun Xi for his strength of piggy-back Xiao Yu Liang for multiple times in the drama. Xiao Yu Liang is quite slender but packed with muscle so it must amount to something.

I watched the video. Like you, I also not familiar with that particular pair. As far as I know the movie about The Lost Tomb is only the one with Lu Han and Jing Bo Ran. I don't remember there is other ....
Moreover, in the video description below, there is no list about that particular pair.

I somehow feel her be the fourth wheel of the trio. It is an unpleasant feeling. I don't understand the need of her tagging along for so long. I did see the last few minutes of the final episode of season 2 and I saw Bai Hao Tian tagging along even after the adventure and I just .......

Is that so? Hmmm, I will find time to continue my watching then. Perhaps fast forwarding the warehouse arc with Bai Hao Tian is in order for me to be able to finish season 1 ..... I know lots of people like her but I am too annoyed with the lack of Zhang Qi Ling in the season 1, I just cannot tolerate her existence. Sigh ......

It was in episode 9 as far as I remember. So yes, it is pretty early in the series.

Hahahahaha!! But judging from the clips of Reunion that I have seen, Huang Jun Jie only showed his naked upper body once (in early season 1) when he showed a certain woman his tattoo so she would help them decipher the artifact.

I think among all actor who played as Zhang Qi Ling, it is Xiao Yu Liang who shows his body the most, hahahaha. In Ultimate Note, I feel that they always try to find excuse so he can show his body. Perhaps even the production team was aware he has the best body shape as Zhang Qi Ling.

That warehouse arc with Bai Hao Tian is the nail on the coffin for me to stop watching at all. Not even my love toward Zhu Yi Long acting skill could persuade me to continue. Perhaps will continue on later when I get the mood again.

Now with Ultimate Note, at least my thirst of Iron Triangle interaction is more or less satiated for now. All those interactions in this drama are feast for my eyes. And those nice Zhang Qi Ling fighting scenes make everything even sweeter. In all The Lost Tomb adaptation, else than Iron Triangle interaction, Zhang Qi Ling fighting scenes are the one I love the most.

Hahahahaha!! You are better than me. I even haven't finished Reunion 1st season. I stopped around episode 17, skipping until episode 20 and then full stop since I saw no Zhang Qi Ling on the horizon, hahahahaha. I plan to continue these days though since I want to see how the story ends. Since I hear people praising the chemistry between Wu Xie and Zhang Qi Ling in Reunion, I take that those chemistry happen in 2nd season?!

I have to admit that Yang Yang is the best Zhang Qi Ling in regards to looks. No one can best that in my opinion. But this adaptation brings something else to the table that can make me disregard the looks (not that Xiao Yu Liang is not handsome).

Currently, I think this adaption has the best Zhang Qi Ling. I like how Xiao Yu Liang shows us both strong and weak side of Zhang Qi Ling.

And I think I am alone in thinking how awkward the relationship between Zhu Yi Long and Huang Jun Jie in real life, hahahaha. Perhaps their age gap is also a factor. It is unfortunate because this stiff relationship kind of bleed on their onscreen relationship.

Nirvana in Fire 1 is a masterpiece in my opinion. The second is good, but not as good as the first one, either in plot or in bromance.

The Legend of Fei, I intend to wait until it ends so I can skim it through. I am curious about it since it was so hyped but watching a few clips and skimming through the novel .... I think this might not be my cup of tea.

Ultimate Note is a nice surprise for me. I was bracing myself when start watching this since I was so disappointed with Reunion. So far I am loving this drama. Hopefully those director and scriptwriter take notes of what the audiences truly want out of The Lost Tomb series and stop giving us unneeded female characters.

The casts indeed do seem very comfortable with each other in this season.

Ah Hikaru no Go. I am in the middle of watching that drama. The original manga and anime are one of my favorite years ago. Really love the direction the drama went to. Somehow the production team knows what the we truly want, hahahaha. Not to mention the chemistry between Yu Liang and Shi Guang also very natural and good.

Nirvana in Fire actually dealt more about brotherly relationship than romance, especially the first one. Since the romance for the main character pretty much already set in stone from the beginning. The huge chunk if the story actually about the development of the bromance instead.

I agree though that novel about friendship is far and between. What a pity.

In Ultimate Note, Zhang Qi Ling shows both vulnerability and invulnerability. It is very interesting to see how a godlike entity like Zhang Qi Ling has his moment of weakness.

I also like the acting from both Joseph Zheng and Xiao Yu Liang in this. How Wu Xie shows his protective side toward Zhang Qi Ling is very endearing. And Zhang Qi Ling tsundere moment is very cute, too.

Yeah, drama these days are too heavy on romance. It is very rare to find a simple brotherly relationship like those in Nirvana in Fire or in The Lost Tomb series. If it is not romance between man and woman, then it always bromance that stem from BL origin. Sigh ....... Not that I hate BL or something, but somehow I am wondering: Is it impossible for two persons from the same gender to be a very close friend without it develops to romance? Soulmate doesn't always have to be stemmed from romance relationship.

Yeah, the black glasses and Xiao Hua interaction is quite funny indeed. Anyway, I am very much enjoying all interaction between casts here. They are very natural and comfortable with each other.

Agree!! I am glad this session will focus on the bromance and seems no female lead on horizon. I hate it when they forced fed us with female lead when there is no need of it.

I am a sucker of bromance because in my eyes, this kind relationship is the best in depicting how a human could relate with another human without blood relation as a reason and devoid of any sexual desire. It is pure in a way. Just two person care for each other and connected to each other. Close friendship also one type of love. And this love actually could go beyond romance love. If doing right, story about close friendship actually could be more beautiful than romance.

I have watched The Lost Tomb 1 &2, The Tomb of the Sea. Reunion, I failed to finish it. It was very interesting at first, but I just could not go on once I reached the middle of season 1. The lack of Zhang Qi Ling was so glaring which made me annoyed at the female character they introduced; since I watch The Lost Tomb series for the iron triangle relationship.

Across all The Lost Tomb series I have watched, I actually like this one best. People said that the production is cheap and not as good as Reunion. I agree. But there are other things that people value, that could mask cheap production. One of them is chemistry between leads. I have to say that Ultimate Note has the best chemistry between Wu Xie and Zhang Qi Ling. I don't know whether it is because of the certain novel volume that they adapted here, the director/scriptwriter, or the actors themselves.

The acting perhaps is not as stellar as with Reunion (what can you say with Zhu Yi Long, hahahaha), but I can sense the spark everytime Joseph Zheng and Xiao Yu Liang in the screen together.

I think else from Yuan Bing Yuan agency, Huan Rui actually has some connection with Yang Mi agency. I hope to see Cheng Yi in a project with experienced actress that could match his emotional intensity.
