What happen with it? That is an adaptation from novel. Did you imply that the scriptwriter was compelled to change something in order to cater for certain group of people?
And FL getting attacked .... I think this already happened once Meng Xing Chang An trailer came out? Sigh ..... These obsessive CP fans have become nothing but trouble recently.
According to C-fans the novel is very different. And the main male character isn't even Li Yan. The screenwriter…
Seeing how much care the scriptwriter put into this work, I hope we can see a superb production. As one of posters said, this will be a loose adaptation which is fine for me. As long as the change gives more flavor, I am all for deviation.
Moreover, Huan Rui already had success with L&R regarding deviation from the novel. So, I think they know what they are doing.
It is fine as long he died knowing that he was loved and already tasted the happiness with the woman he loved.
Yeah. But the drama itself is actually good. It has lots of life wisdom.
Meng Xing Chang An will also have a scene of ML death. Now, I want to see how Zhang Yu Xi tackle this. Because, however maddening FL character in The Promise of Chang An, Sarah Zhao actually was able to deliver very well in Cheng Xu death arc. I can feel that knife stabbed to my heart watching her acting.

Even though the ending of The Promise of Chang An more or less redeemed both those annoying character, I still feel that their regret came too late. Dead person needs nothing
Watched the raw until the end, skipped episode 51-54 for now though. I will watch that later with subs. Qi Yuan…
After watch until the end, I get what the scriptwriter want to show to us. This is one beautiful story even though the process is so maddening. It teaches us that what goes around will come around. A parents sin is like pilling up "bad luck" upon their descendant. This is true in real life.
Xiao Cheng Rui, stole the throne from his brother and justified it by saying that he was more worthy of the position. This character punishment was never get what he truly wanted in life: Ming Yu heart. Sadly, this was not stressed enough in the drama. I blamed Sarah Zhao acting skill in this. She lack the ability to differentiate love and respect. Cheng Rui strategized before his death to ensure his brother would never get the throne (out of spite in my opinion). But, look and behold! His chosen successor turned up to be failure of an emperor.
Ming Yu, chose her son over and over again by sacrificing Cheng Xu, cruelly broke his heart over and over again. However she justified her action by using motherhood, didn't make her action right. In the end she lived in regret. Alone for the rest of her life. The greatest punishment is not death but living.
Qi Yuan, this was a tragic character in a way. Both his parents owed Cheng Xu too much. Cheng Rui thought that he deserved the throne because he was more capable than Cheng Xu. But Qi Yuan his son grew up spoiled, became a bratty emperor with no capability. He had not have the very thing that his father used as reason of his right to the throne. Ming Yu once "forced" Cheng Xu to marry Su Yu Ying, caused his household to know no peace. Qi Yuan also forced to marry his empress that more or less also wreaking havoc in the harem. Again, Ming Yu chose him over and over again despite his fault and forced to sacrifice Cheng Xu in the process. Now his beloved wife "chose" their dead son over him. In the end, he died of illness that once took Cheng Xuan life and indirectly killed Cheng Xu, too. Alone, sad, and full of regret.
Both Ming Yu and Qi Yuan are redeemed, but they also had to live with guilt and regret. When Cheng Xu was alive, what came out from their mouth was only demand and more demand. Now he was dead, all that could come from their mouth was "I am sorry".
I like episode 55 very much because that episode showed what the extend of pain Cheng Xu dead brought to this pair mother and son.
Aside of FL acting skill, I deem this is a good drama. Full of meaning and life wisdom.
Watched the raw until the end, skipped episode 51-54 for now though. I will watch that later with subs. Qi Yuan harem is not worth of me watch it twice ..... Below will be my thought of the end. So it is all spoiler. Please don't click if you don't want to be spoiled of the ending
Wait till you watch the later episodes. You'd dig your heart out, bury her alive, throw all the possible 4-letter…
Before throne fiasco, I think she fancied herself as this martyr who sacrifice herself for Cheng Xu safety. Not that I could see her as victim since I saw that she quite enjoyed her life, having the King favor.
But after Qi Yuan ascended to the throne, I felt her mind now shifted to all move on and supporting her son as emperor. She now fancied herself as all wise empress dowager who did everything for the greater good. Which she failed spectacularly in my opinion. Because retaining Qi Yuan on the throne is stupid thing that would bring disaster to many.
Is this even legit? I heard Cheng Yi is also auditioning for TGCF?
I also want to know. Because I don't know why this page suddenly exist. No rumor at all as far as I know. Perhaps other poster could fill in. But, I will be very happy if Cheng Yi truly will be casted in Broken Cloud 2. This is a dark and heavy drama. We need great actor
TGCF, I don't believe he did. I believe it is only rumor with bad intention because in all video I watched regarding Cheng Yi and TGCF, they kind of "mocking" him softly since they think he is not suitable.

If she didn't say nonsense about her heart belong to Cheng Xu bla bla bla, I would not this against her. Will mourn for Cheng Xu yes, but will be more understanding of Ming Yu POV. But now? Her action didn't show that she had Cheng Xu in her heart at all. She never thought of his pain at all. In her eyes, as long as he was alive, all was well. This was not love
Well similar casts is because the drama is HR company production. About the same character, kind of, i think because…
Agreed. I think he get this ability to show both fragility and strength within one character. Not an easy feat. There are lots others who have failed to do this. Either their strong period looks too weak or their weak period looks jarring and ugly.
I guess most (if not all) of us here agree that Cheng Yi has way to make being weak beautiful and heart-wrenching.
I am fine with the ML dying as long as he get the woman he loves. No more Ming Yu please.
Watching Helan Ming Yu is both maddening and tiring. No wonder WandereR said that her blood pressure always spiking when she watched the drama, hahahahaha.
Watching the trailer and seeing the relationship between both leads is soothing my hurting heart after watching The Promise of Chang An. There will be heart-break in this drama but seemed they both do love each other.

For some of us, I take episode 50 will be our pseudo-ending?!
