According to this, there are many new rules for long dramas. Aside from removing the 40 episode cap, I saw a few…
I think the biggest draw, as a LYX solo fan, is that this is a big male centric drama. I think these are good to have. Investors flocked to this drama for LYXās name only and not any side characters. Not all dramas need to focus on love lines and side characters so much. So, to me, focusing on other characters too much would do this drama a disservice. And this has been done to LYX one too many times. Hence many fanās excitement over male centric dramas.
I think those are fine, depending on the story. Obviously CP fans wonāt like this cause they want him to share the limelight with a female co-star.
I also donāt like the idea of fans losing the freedom to express themselves through fan edits.
I guess the only thing Iām happy about is no longer having a 40 episode restriction.

Are you even a fan of this drama? cause all you seem to do is criticize and argue what others know about the story. The novel can be a disaster and a screenwriter will still see potential in the story and characters. Clearly they saw something in Tang Lici that made them want to explore these themes, and to tell his story, in further detail.

He flirts with men AND women. He does this in the novel, and you can see this in the BTS clips as well. Whether it makes it the final cut or not, I donāt know, but it aligns with his character. That doesnāt make it bl. (???)
You are coming off as very homophobic, btw. Get out of my mentions if all you want to do is get smart with me. Iām just telling it as I see it, and based off what I know of his character. And he seems very similar to his novel counterpart.

I think at this point it is a lost cause arguing with you about this. I think youāre expecting Ah Shui to have the same sort of importance or impact as Li Susu, and youāre going to be sorely disappointed.
Feed whatever delusions you want. Hopefully people will watch this drama regardless of whether there is romance or not cause that isnāt what is important here, and you are missing how that is the point I am trying to make. And thinking this could be the same case scenario as TTEOTM and how they changed ttjās character is clutching to false hope based on some clips you saw of him holding Ah Shui (with a cold expression, mind you) and a scene that looks like a kiss but isnāt actually. (Iād rather not spoil this for the audience).
Also, donāt forget that the same studio that did TTEOTM also did Immortality. A censored BL.
I also love the fact that you ignore how a majority of the trailer focuses on Tang Lici with Liu Yan. Where is the focus ever on Ah Shuiās relationship with TLC?

Exactly. I donāt know why some people canāt accept a story without any sort of romance. Cause the way some people talk about it indicates that they hope it will, despite all the evidence that says otherwise.

First off, you know nothing of this story and it shows.
Well let me just say that one may add hundreds of such scenes between them and it still wouldnāt be considered romance or make her his love-interest. Just wait for the drama to air, it will answer all your questions. It is not that far awayājust 'four more months' of waitingš
Nobody said there is a romance between male characters. Do you know the meaning of the term "Bromance"? I am not referring to BL but BROMANCE. Regarding why it indicates "bromance" is because 'Zhou Dilou' is a treasure in Tang Liciās heart. His unconditional love and soul shattering devotion and obsession for his sect brothers reaches far beyond the concept of "mere interaction" or "normal friendship.ā Facing the defamation from the entire world, enduring the excruciating pain of coexisting with two hearts for years; creating a hope when there was no hope to begin with, for just one person, might even touch the soul of a dead person.
In an environment dominated by male characters, who and what do you want people to imagine? Shui Long Yin makes it very clear that it caters to the male-audience. If itās romance you want there are countless other romance dramas out there. Even male-centric ones that feature romance. Maybe just watch those instead if you love them so much because you seem upset over the idea that this may not contain romance (which it doesnāt).
And if you want to see more of the actress Lin Yun, may I suggest some of her works, like Les Belles? I would also recommend you to check out 'Imperfect Victim.ā She is not the lead there; however, she delivers an outstanding performance.

People are allowed to ask questions, but the focus and point of this story has never been about the type of love that involves romance. So unless the drama completely veers from the leaked script and original story, I do think itās misleading to give people hope of this, and placing such importance on Ah Shuiās relationship with Tang Lici, when the story is driven around him and his relationships with, most notably, Fang Zhou and Liu Yan.
Love is a part of Tang Liciās emotional entanglements, but it is not of the romantic sort. That would also completely change his character from the original story. And while I understand the drama is not the novel, they have not changed this aspect of his character. This is a bromance that focuses on martial arts. Letās attract the right viewers! And, hey, if it has a sprinkling of romance, fine. But I highly doubt it, and people shouldnāt be watching if thatās what theyāre hoping for.

Anyway, I made this post the other day with all this so-called romance in mind. Thereās gonna be a lot of confused romance fans out there. 𤣠And Tang Lici flirts with *everyone*. Even his enemies. Iām glad to see a little of that in the BTS clips.
For those who keep asking if thereāll be romance. Hereās a link of the main description & what to expect.…
Hey, thatās me! This drama has been confirmed not to have a romantic love line. There is, however, bromance involved. The story focuses on Tang Lici and his journey through the jianghu and dealing with his own fate. Most of his interactions are with male characters. And the only love he has is between him and his sect brothers. All other characters are secondary/supporting. And he mostly uses women to his advantage.
Ah Shui is being portrayed as a protagonist, but other female actors hold more importance in this story. Even the novel had no romance. Just a toxic relationship between Ah Shui & Tang Lici. Ah Shui cared for him but was not āin loveā with him.
Also, "EMOTIONAL ENTANGLEMENTS" is not a synonym for ROMANCE, and that is not what that term is referring to. Just because Tang Lici has a sort of ambiguity with Ah Shui does not make Ah Shui his love interest. Tang Lici does not love her, and Iām sure the drama will confirm this once it airs. But if others want to believe otherwise, at this point I donāt know what else to say. But itās misleading information.

IMO, those saying there is romance is only doing this drama a disservice if thatās what people are watching it for. Why people keep focusing on this is weird to me.
