I think its going to take sometimes for that to happen. They wont kill him off that fast🤣
It is huge, but most of that is very minor supporting cast. You’ve pretty much met all the major players already. And all the plot points revolve around Tang Lici, Liu Yan, Fang Zhou, and whatever Gu Mudan has going on. He’s the mystery factor here.

The thing is, Liu Yan isn’t just a part of an arc. He is one of the main supporting cast. So he won’t be going anywhere for a while. I don’t think that affects other arcs or characters from further developing. I could argue we should move on from other characters too, then. It doesn’t really make sense.
He will likely die before the series ends. But we’re only halfway through. His story with Tang Lici is a major part of this story and won’t end that quickly.
Liu Yan is reminding me a little of Mo Ran in erha (for any danmei readers here), where his hatred was amplified by outside/evil forces.
Some of you guys really need to stop looking at things so black and white. He isn’t faultless for sure. But I also don’t think he’s being naive and unreasonable for no reason.
I wonder how much of Liu Yan's current state is due to his psychotic break and how much is Gui Mudan's doing.
He’s definitely been manipulated and brainwashed. Gu Mudan took advantage of his hate. Why else would they show the flashback while tlc is trying to break through to him?
Glad to see the focus once again back on track, centered around tlc and his brothers. The plot/pacing is already so much more exciting, and the numbers have increased from the past couple days.
Bashing female characters has become the forbidden fruit BL fans enjoy and must have every day, isn’t it?Bashing…
Most of those “BL” fans are only criticizing ah shui, and they’re allowed to dislike how a character is written. I’ve seen plenty of love for other female characters in this series by these so-called “BL fans,” so stop using the excuse that we all hate women or heterosexual romance. That isn’t the issue here. But we all know that critical thinking isn’t your strong suit so I won’t waste my time trying to make you understand when you refuse to receive any sort of constructive criticism. It’s always this way if anyone criticizes a female character. But I for one am tired of seeing her save tlc over and over again. Is he really so weak he can’t survive without her? That’s not smart writing. And frankly I’m annoyed with it.
Her purpose for living is following him around? This is the way you want women written? (Yikes!)
Most dramas with a martial arts/journey/adventure kind of theme are not good at executing romance as a side plot.…
I think the better question should be, why does everyone *need* romance in every drama? It’s kind of refreshing to not have it sometimes. There’s so much more to explore in life than just love-lines. And it can take away from the plot, as you said. And anyone who has read the novel knows how out of character it would be for tlc to have romantic feelings for someone. So for me, personally, I was hoping it wouldn’t be there. And so far he hasn’t returned any of ah shui’s feelings, so I hope it stays that way.
He is just a skinny person. He’s dealt with some bad injuries in previous dramas and took a while to recover.…
I promise you he doesn’t have an eating disorder. If you look back at his history he has always been thin. He was a professional ballet dancer and he has a ballet dancer’s physique. Do you honestly think he could do his own wire stunts if he was anorexic? He has muscle and body mass. If you’re anorexic you will lose bone density.
He also had a face injury after filming Light Chaser Rescue. Had extensive surgery and couldn’t eat solid foods for a long time. Hence why he looked so thin in TTEOTM. Which actually benefited his character in a way since ttj was meant to be a malnourished and sickly hostage prince. But please use your brain rather than body shaming without knowing the facts. He looks very healthy in Shui Long Yin, and put on some weight recently while filming Shadow Punisher. The boy is fine just the way he is. He takes care of his body and isn’t harming himself.
Isn’t everyone entitled to their opinion? Calling somebody a terrible actor (there are so many of those around!)…
Well I can’t remark since I didn’t see the comment. But I don’t think this is the place to ridicule other actors when the point is to hype sly and nothing else.
