Yes, you're right, they did do it with Gap. That was back when GL audiences were starved for content and FreenBecky was pretty much the only game in town. Ironically, thanks to the success of Gap, we have a lot more choices now, so getting greedy and cavalier with a core audience is no longer a fail safe strategy.
With so much GL content available - from sources other than IDF - it's not an undue hardship to wait until a series completes before beginning to watch. That's what I did with Gap, what I should have done with Pin, and what I will do with any future IDF projects.
