...did anyone else fast forward through the scene of wan in the hospital beside ek's bed 💀
I did. No matter what was said it was a waste of time. Some dude breaks in, starts waving a gun saying I need to die first thing I'm going to do is head to his bedside, kiss his hand, and beg forgiveness. Nah.
The fact that Change2561 blithely dropped a teaser BL for an obsessive, voyeuristic stalker who broke into his estranged wife's's home, whipped out a gun, and threatened to kill her and another woman before shooting himself is horrifying. Is this truly what passes for "romantic hero" in their world?
My Demon did a really good job of being what it is: a fantasy romance. It is imperfect, but it has far more ups than downs, even considering the bizarrely implausible nonsensical demise/non-demise of a main character.
My biggest kudos go to FL Kim You Jung. Some actors act the role, others inhabit the role. Kim You Jung crawled into the character of Do Do Hee and gave it everything.
Kim Tae Hoon was icily malevolent as Noh Suk Min. He deserved a more sensible wrap up for his character.
Kim Hae Sook is so so so good as Joo Chun Sook. She's one of my favorite character actors and must be everyone else's favorite too because she's in EVERYTHING. And she's so wonderful she needs to keep being in EVERYTHING.
The fantasy was well conceived and executed, thanks in part to atmospheric shot composition and cinematography. The romance between the leads was smoking. They were adorable together. I could have done without the early episodes' tryst with the Enemies to Lovers trope, but it resolved quickly, if not quite quickly enough for me.
I don't usually have the patience to track multiple character development arcs, but I got invested in each one in My Demon. Script writer Choi Ah Il did a wonderful job wrapping them all up after taking exactly the time it needed to do them justice.
Took me 7 days to barley get through 7 episodes. Think I might drop this...
Just one person's opinion, but I enjoyed the later episodes after being mildly bored by the earlier ones. I'm not trying to talk you into picking it back up, though. I've certainly dumped a few dramas in my time.
also, I noticed how the characters w the top (?) energy are getting most of the attention. it kinda feels like…
IMO, Gap didn't follow that mold. Sam was initially the aggressor, but Mon was a bit in secret agent mode with her "Watch me, I can flip this any time I want" attitude after the initial breakthrough. I thought their characters got balanced attention in the drama. That is just one of several reasons why Gap is still my standard for GL.
Queen of tears in my opinion is one of the worst written dramas in kdrama world. Its all over the placeIf anyone…
QoT had some all around deadly boring plot arcs and instances of cringe worthy cheesy dialog. It also had that kitten, and the single star left on the ceiling, and the 4-leaf clover and the tennis shoes that nearly became their own side characters, and the world's best secretary/scene stealer, and Da Hye who actually really loved her idiot husband Soo Cheol, and mostly it had whatever mojo magic happened when Kim Ji Won and Kim Soo Hyun had a scene together.
I don't think it was technically the best movie ever made, but I gotta say, it still hasn't let go of my heart strings... and obviously I'm not the only one.
Agree. Really liked PSH in Sisyphus, too. IMO she's stronger as a badass than romantic fluffball. Not dismissing her romantic heroine chops, just liking the gravity of her in more morally ambiguous characters.
to be honest, if daon was a female character, yall would have 1. find her annoying 2. ate her up 3. hated herjust…
I agree. I don't think people would be sympathizing with our defending a female character being a one-dimensional, morally superior, judgemental know-it-all. Even in real life that only works for men.
She is a demon, and has a mission to bring 20 souls who has not repent on their crime and she has nothing to do…
"If she does not give a damn about human law then it means she does not give a damn about human beings who live by their law."
Well, duh. How many times have we heard her straight up say that explicitly and out loud? In fact, it's the guiding principal of her character: to her, the "law" she follows supercedes human law. Whether evil-doers get punished in the human world is irrelevant to her mission. She's after getting the required ten notches on her belt and "caring" is not in her repertoire.
Is this not available to watch on Disney+ in the USA?? I have Disney+ but cannot find it.
It's on Hulu in U.S., but for some weird reason it didn't show up in my listings until I added Disney+ to my Hulu subscription. I can't figure that one out.
It's really infuriating when she doesn't give proper rulings. I agree they deserve the punishment but her arrogance…
I've been intimately involved with law enforcement and courts all my life, from my adult career to growing up as a child of a defense attorney, then prosecutor, then judge and I can testify to this: believing that the system metes out justice according to law is hopelessly naive. IMO IRL police are self-absorbed, lazy, and not especially bright or law abiding; defense attorneys and prosecutors are Hell bent on acquittal or conviction, guilt or innocence be damned; and judges are the human epitome of arrogance and self-interest. When it works as it was intended, it's purely by accident. So, on that score I think The Judge From Hell is 100% on the nose.
