I lie and I'm bias sometimes but I have a genuine question for people that are complaining about the FL's character... What kind of character do you think a genius + sociopath would have? Y'all saying her character is this and that without considering the fact that she's a geniopath and you should not expect nothing normal from her character. I mean it's okay to hate someone you don't know or get angry because you think another actress is better suited for the character but saying her character is not well suited and saying this and that is the peak of force hating.
I really like the 2 epsiodes and Park Min Young is doing a great job with such a different role from her usual RomCom characters. Her portrayal of Yi rang as a quirky, messy, yet super smart sociopath is definitely unexpected but really interesting to watch. From what I've seen of the Japanese original, Dahko was a bit of a freak too, so PMY’s version fits well in that vibe.
That said, the drama’s plot moves pretty quickly, especially since only two episodes have aired so far, and we haven’t gotten much backstory or emotional connection between the three main characters yet. That probably adds to why some viewers feel a bit weird or disconnected from it. But I think there’s a darker underlying storyline that seems to be diverging from the Japanese version, which might answer some of our questions as the show continues so I’m okay with the fast pace and mystery for now.
Overall, it’s a fresh, entertaining take, even if it takes a bit to get used to Park Min Young in this role and the quicker story progression.
Haven't watched yet, I plan to, but the criticism of an actress not being suited? If they weren't a good actress, I'd understand, but Park Minyoung? My theory is:
There's a group of geniupaths who kidnaps children who are geniupaths as well. They find their particular skillset and hone it.
The FL appears to have escaped and is on the revenge mode.
The FL remembers who were the other kids and is forming her own group. Fail that, she will take down those other kids if they are "bad" or still doing the goals of that group.
Meanwhile, that group is probably behind some of the best crimes in world. Some of her targets were probably their clients once. For example, Mr. 50 billion won was probably connected to that group one way or another, as well as to GuHo.
Or, that group probably dissolved, lost its way, or was taken over.
this drama is very very well written....even though it's a remake but it's very good for a remake unlike Mary kills people...the last time I enjoyed this mind twisting plot was in 2022 Lee jeong suks Big mouth and Ok taecyeons Blind .....this definitely deserves 8.5 or more rating ngl

But there also exists a percentage who choose use their smarts for good, despite their low-empathy. The phrase "Never underestimate the power of weaponized autism" applies to these individuals. They have cultivated a learned-empathy as a substitute for natural innate EQ.
I prefer shows which present the latter types as they confront trying to identify what it must be like for average humans (eg Leverage) and eschew the ones which merely focus on anti-heroes using their skills to take down other villains (Hustle, Confidence Man JP, and this.)
I think PMY is doing a terrific job with her performance which really does expand her range, but I am not finding any reason to care about her character or where this is going. Still, I hope the show does well. But I doubt I'll make it through to the end. Or even the next episode.
So far it reminds me of Taxi Driver, which honestly wasn’t my favourite, however part of what bothered me in TD was the acting which is not a problem in this one, so I’ll probably stick around for 1-2 more episodes before deciding if I’m watching or dropping… it didn’t grab my attention yet tho.
This drama is so fun! I love the unhinged FL and the comedy is very JDrama-ish. I need more weirdo FL/ML. Maybe I just want something different from KDramas coz lately I've been hooked with CDramas and vertical dramas. It feels good to be watching a KDrama again with amazing leads.
To everyone here hating on Park Min Young just leave. If you don't like her, that's okay but stop flooding the comments with negativity. Go watch shows with the actors you like. If you don't like someone from the cast, especially if they are the main lead, then don't watch it. It's that simple. Stop wasting time to come on here and hate, it just shows what kind of person you are. Many of us like Park Min Young and her acting, and that's that. Respect it.
Park Min Young is one of my favorite actresses, and I love me some Park Hee Soon. I hate getting excited for a drama, and it's not what I expected. It's not bad, it's just wasn't what I was expecting. I thought the 2nd episode was going to be better. I don't know. I will give it a couple more episodes, and if by then I'm still losing interest, I will drop it.
