The amount of times Yuanzhou plays and flirts with Yichen and Yichen's reaction feels like a bickering couple skdjskdks and whenever Wen Xiao watches them, she seems so happy and amused LOL

I noticed Yuanzhou and Wen Xiao are similar when they flirt (with Yichen, with Pei Sijing) and Yichen and Pei Sijing's reactions (at least in the beginning of the drama / in their first meeting) are similar too like lol that's the vibe I got xD

Anyways, I really love Wen Xiao's intro so much with the demon girl. It was so beautiful. Even tho they had just met I loved their relationship already. I wonder how it would be like if we got to see more of her... Her relationship with Wen Xiao would be so cute and precious I can tell 🥺

Also, is it just me who still can't get over how we got Yuanzhou and Yichen's entrance to be so epic, like it's literally a fight scene between them, and on top of that, with Liu Yuning's OST! Like that is just SICK! Definitely a foreshadowing to how their relationship would become in future episodes.
And now think about the very last scene (in the special ep). The connection between them. Their first scene vs their last scene. The beauty in it. It was Yuanzhou looking for Yichen (and Yichen wanting to kill him), and now it's Yichen looking for Yuanzhou (and Yichen wanting to save him). But looking at it more, Yuanzhou in the first AND last scenes is literally him looking for (finding) Yichen. Just wow.

Anyways I'm so happy to be rewatching this aahhh!! Tbh, I rarely rewatch dramas, have only done a few times over the course of my (nearly) 5 years of watching dramas. And this is the only drama I decided to rewatch not long after watching it. It really shows how special this drama is to me. 🥹🥰

I can barely find BTS of the drama. It looks pretty well-hidden. I like that. Makes me even more excited to watch while knowing almost nothing about it except what the synopsis says 🔥🔥

After listening again, some parts do make me question it esp Li Lun's last line lmaooo... And then maybe the music kinda makes it hard for me to fully hear their voices since I'm so used to their voices alr (knew Yanan for 4 years even...) haha tho just to tell you some of these lines being said are actually in the drama so some are their real voices~ but lol now that I think about it, for the other parts, where did they get the voiceovers? Yuanzhou's relationship with Yichen and Li Lun go so deep. Li Lun probably wouldn't have been in the drama if Yuanzhou wasn't there, bc Li Lun's main driving force in the drama is basically Yuanzhou and his love / obsession with him (just a brief / casual way to say it I guess). Yuanzhou is also a gray character. Ofc he may not be like those morally grey, dark, evil, villain-like characters, but does every drama really need that? It'd get boring. He was still an interesting and loveable character. I really love how kind-natured he was. I know a lot of people are obsessed with dark characters, which is probably one of your arguments, but you really can't like characters like Yuanzhou, which is what makes this world even more beautiful? And I really love how they portrayed demons in this drama which I feel is different and unique from others.

I'm sorry, but I can't agree with you. Without Yuanzhou, the story would be totally different. You may think Yichen outperforms him, but I don't see that. Without each other, they wouldn't be where they are in the end. They've grown so much throughout the drama, especially Yichen, and this wouldn't have happened if it weren't for each other.

Edit: And let me add... What kind of story would we even be getting without the male lead? He is literally the main / driving force of the narrative.

So for me, I really feel like they did not have to add romance in general bc nonetheless, this gang would still love each other like family. Anyways, there are different forms of love. For Yichen and Wen Xiao, we can say they are more like companions and kindred spirits. And about the love triangle situation, it's really not that deep and doesn't go far, and I love that.

Also, in this drama, we can interpret things differently if we look closely. Personally for me, the more I read and look into this more deeply, the more I believe in another love triangle. But atp, it doesn't have to be romantic, more like soulmate-like bonds, which is already so beautiful and enough. Bc even if it may seem like romance / love would go above everything else, soulmate bonds can go as far or even farther.

Honestly I feel the same way. But I don't ship them either.

What I feel makes their chemistry so strong is how they always found comfort in each other. They both go thru the same thing (loss of loved ones) and I think this is one big thing that brings them together, becoming each other's anchors thru their hard times. We can see how much they really care for each other too throughout the drama. It's so beautiful and touching.

I also feel like Yuanzhou has more chemistry with Yichen than with her. Now that I think about it, it's kind of like... Yichen has more chemistry with them both than they do with each other?
