They are all “hosts” or “members” (whichever terminology you want to use), however, there is always someone who acts as the “main” or “lead” that directs the rest of the group. It was like that since E01.

It's part of the comedy. They are not “angry” and they are fully aware that he was chosen as the “leader” when needed. Even in real life, when the group members are close, the leader gets joked about “no one chose you” even though they were actually chosen. Much more so in a comedy show.

Even in other Running Man adaptations, there is a “Main”. The responsibility lies on them to “lead” or “guide” or to “keep everyone on track”. To be a “main” or “lead” doesn't mean you always have to take matters on your own hands or to be a one-man team. You are there behind-the-scenes.

Could be a hint as well. If you're appearing regularly in RM's weekly episodes, it means you have too much time available.

It can also be a warning. Too much variety show exposure can unknowingly shift their career from acting/singing to comedy. And we know they had regular members who chose to leave because they want to pursue their original career and keep that image. ^_~

Yep, they hired two rental members. Although I thought it was only for 3 months each. I guess the feedback for the two were so positive in Korea, the kept on extending them. I think it was because they're both in the same agency, so it was easier to get them both, and extended if needed.

LOL. I wouldn't be surprised if their agency closed a 12-month deal for both. A very good training and exposure for the two. Imagine the agency wanting Running Man instead of RM wanting the talents.

I never mentioned nor imply that SoKor should “take the load of” NoKor.

If you want to discuss the economic, social, political, and cultural factors of a Unified Korea, this is not the proper forum for it.

Secondly, by your logic, you just told every single Korean who are supporting a Unified Korea that they are wrong, because “SK is way more …” this and that; especially rude to the victims of the ideological divide.

Somewhere out there… in a parallel universe… “Peace Village” exists and a similar story happened which eventually led to the unification of the Korean peninsula.

Grassroots made it happen. Ordinary people created new relationships that crossed the DMZ. They showed the politicians of both the North and the South that no political ideology can separate them any longer.

I hope the lesson from this parallel universe “leaks” into our reality, and hopefully, the Korean War will end once and for all in our time. It has gone far too long, and families who were separated by the DMZ are passing on one after another. Don't let the day come when no one can remember the pain of the separation; of an eons-old dream of having one Korean flag, united and happy together.

P.S. There are only 8 episodes officially, not 12. ^_~

For a show that wants to inspire and keep the hope of reunification alive… the production information and marketing is the most chaotic one I've ever seen in my entire life. LOL.

1. Entire cast replaced; and silence on why this happened.

2. Originally scheduled to premiere in December 2023. Months delayed due to an “internal” reason. (Probably due to North Korea, it was December 2023 when the Supreme Leader started to veer away from SoKor and the reunification dream.)

3. Why TVING OTT (KR) and AppleTV+ OTT (KR) split 2 episodes into 3? One episode Wednesday, 2 episodes every Thursday.

4. And why split it differently than Lifetime Channel (KR)? Usually, a different episode numbering happens after the original premiere ends, not while it still is airing. The production team, no doubt, filmed it as 2 episodes per week.

Aside: Lifetime Channel Korea got the exclusive airing rights. An episode is released there first before any OTT services, be it Korean or Global, can release the latest episode. Just like most other shows (Korean or otherwise), terrestrial airing first before digital distribution.

I think I finally understand why there is confusion on the number of episodes for this series.

= TVING and AppleTV Korea listed it as 12 episodes.

The reason for this is that they divided 2 episodes worth of screentime into 3 episodes.
* Every Wednesday, TVING and AppleTY Korea airs one episode.
* Every Thursday, they both air 2 episodes.

However, in other official OTT (and the Lifetime TV Channel in Korea), they only air 2 episodes. They split it properly as the producer intended; as E01 and E02.

Global OTT + Lifetime TV Channel Korea: E01 + E02 = Korea OTT: E01, E02, E03
Global OTT + Lifetime TV Channel Korea: E03 + E04 = Korea OTT: E04, E05, E06
Global OTT + Lifetime TV Channel Korea: E05 + E06 = Korea OTT: E07, E08, E09
Global OTT + Lifetime TV Channel Korea: E07 + E08 = Korea OTT: E10, E11, E12

Even Korean Wikipedia listed it as 8 episodes.

Hae In is great. He was also in Snowdrop. I think he just needs to sign-up with more projects, TV at that instead of Movies.

I mean, like Ji On, he's in 2 dramas this year as a main character, so far. And his 2023 drama was with Kim So Hyun and Hwang Min Hyun in My Lovely Liar, and his character there was very important even though it was a support character.

That strategy helped get his face, if not his name, embedded in people's memories.

Hae In, or his manager, just need to find another drama, like While You Were Sleeping and Snowdrop, and then follow it through immediately with multiple dramas. Keep his face out there, make people familiar with his acting and expressions. Most of what they did so far was 1 TV series, rarely 2, per year. He's more into movie roles.

Then again, maybe he indeed prefers movie roles. But yeah, if they want him to have global recognition… TV series is the way. It's faster, there's Viu, Netflix, Disney, get multiple TV dramas any of them sponsors, boom, familiarity to the audience.

Hahaha. True, they're all busy, to get into a daily drama; and expensive at that for a 120 episode series.

Just So Min and Ji Eun, I can't believe they got those two in the same show, and Ji Eun as secondary character. That must have took them a lot of meetings to get it approved. Then add Hae In and Ji On, and the rest of the support cast. LOL. I wonder how much of their budget went to talent fees. ^_^;;

My Father is Strange is still in my ToWatch list. But yeah, she grew and better now.

Yep. I've watched WYWS, I'm no longer sure how many times, it's simply awesome to keep watching it. Now that you mentioned it, they're of the same type! LND is one such show that's fine to watch repeatedly as well.

The mix of veteran actors playing dynamic characters and in contrast at each other is making the show fun and funny in so many ways.

It would have been great if this was a daily drama so we can watch them for 120 episodes. LOL.

Sandara Park is guesting this weekend Aug 31 and Sep 1 / E33 and E34, as shown in the preview in E32.

The new Team Leader, that was thrown to a distant precinct, is the epitome of police brutality and the “judge, jury, and executioner”.

His badge should be revoked immediately. He's far worse than the entire town combined. At least for the town residents, it's understandable why they're acting that way. But for a police officer to act “judge, jury, and executioner” is simply wrong and way out of bounds, especially whenever he's getting too personal.

Hmm… that's like saying the cases where the writer got inspiration from (she's a divorce attorney) were “makjang”. ^_~

So far, the divorce cases they touched on, and the plot of the ML and FL, have not even come close to some of the real-life divorce cases; ones that starts “to cross a little into makjang territory”. You'd actually think that was it, but lo and behold, there's more! (And again, real-life divorce cases.)

The show is far from it. Either the writer never had the opportunity to handle such cases, or their firm never had, or they never had such ridiculous cases in Korea yet; or, the writer simply chose not to use those cases as sources because of they're simply unbelievable as far as the public is concerned (i.e. the public will more likely not believe such cases actually happens in real life).

We even had a very high profile case recently that the world followed very closely. You'd think that was it, and wow, things started to turn unbelievable. ^_~

I love E09 because it talked about “forgiveness”.

They are correct that forgiveness benefit the guilty and/or the wronged. It lifts the burden off your soul.

Forgiveness is not about reconciliation or dropping a court case. This is what most people misunderstood throughout the centuries, and thus, often end up not forgiving anyone and living with the destructive burden of hatred and bitterness, changing them for the worse.

For the guilty: learn to ask for genuine forgiveness. Otherwise, it will haunt you forever.

For the wronged: learn to forgive even if they don't ask for it. This is to save yourself from a life of hatred and bitterness.

You see:
1. For the guilty, if they asked for genuine forgiveness, it frees them. No matter how much the wronged “prays” that they suffer in hell, the guilty will not. Sure, they might suffer in prison, but deep inside, they're free.

2. For the wronged, if you don't forgive even if you think the guilty's apology was fake, it will change you for the worse. You live the rest of your life in hatred and bitterness. You'll start to become “negative” or “pessimistic”. If you see something that is slightly connected to your case, it will trigger a litany of curses from you, that will make your day bad, and the people around you affected.

The guilty knows it is not their problem if their apology was not accepted or not. In fact, even if they were not genuine about it, they'll take it, and it does free them in _some_ way, not completely.

Meanwhile, the wronged was led to believe by society that you shouldn't forgive anyone who wronged you so they will suffer in hell. In truth, the wronged is the one who often ends up suffering in hell.

So… take it and free yourself. If the guilty asks for forgiveness, take it. It doesn't matter if it was genuine or for show, just take it and move on. This is the only way you can TRULY cut yourself from that person and painful memories. The only way you can truly start the road to healing.

Forgiveness is about yourself, not the other party.
1. The guilty asks for forgiveness because it is for their conscience, reputation, and so on.
2. The wronged accepts any forgiveness (or lack thereof) because it is for your own mental and spiritual health. You want to cut them off. You want to move on. You want to start anew. You do not want to live in hatred and bitterness.

Forgiveness is personal and a must. Reconciliation is optional. A court case is the judge's decision.

* You can forgive without reconciliation.
* You can forgive without dropping a court case.

That is what I believe is the moral lesson of E09.

True. going to be really sad. But I guess, it's a reality we have to face, especially for the Koreans are still divided to this day because of ideological and political differences.
