In the early part of the Joseon period, in-laws of the king can not take any government position to avoid corruption (it was only in the mid or latter part of Joseon that it changed, if I remember correctly)..
However, story-wise and as hinted in the episode 2 preview and from the synopsis, he will be given the task to get as many people married as possible so the king can finally marry his son.
Basically, to save his life, he has to solve the problem he created. Apparently, it was his idea to invent a problem that doesn't exist. Low marriage count = some national curse. Which the king figured out.
So, the king arrested him and cornered him. Either he commits suicide, or, he solve the silly marriage issue he created in the first place.
BONUS: It also appears that he is an Agent of Love. In the early days, Goryeo period (before the Silla period), Agents of Love were men and they become “Chief Priests”.
But in the Silla period, it became only women, and this was in this period when they were called “Agents of Love”.
However, when the peninsula entered into the Joseon period, the Agents of Love disappeared. Actually, they went into hiding because the very idea of their existence contradicts with the teachings of Confucianism.
Yet, they still do exist. Still women.
Until 1ML was born. At least what was hinted in the intro of ep01, he has no idea he is the first male Agent of Love after so many years.
Now. It is his job to get people married as fast as possible, otherwise, the king will indeed punish him with death.
I'm glad Yi Hyun is not getting negative feedback this time. Hahaha. People reacted badly when she was in School 2021 (which, ironically, was actually good for me, even though I'm not of that 2021 generation).
I feel bad for Rowoon though. He did say this is his first comedy.

Since Agents before Joseon, for some reason, ended up to be all women, no one knew the first male agent was finally born after so many years (male agents were used to be “Chief Priests”).
In addition to that, it seems only 1FL has an idea of her ability. The 1ML is not aware of it, although he did read the history of the agents.
Unfortunately, the two characters already had a not-so-good encounter. LMAO.
When Park Eun Bin's adult character came into the story, there were scenes wherein it was clearly a Lee Re act.
I've seen previous works of Lee Re, and the young version she did for Castway Diva was totally hers. And yet, Eun Bin displayed the same acting as Lee Re did.
Either Eun Bin studied Re's acting after she filmed her scenes. Or, she watched Re during her filming, or worked with her.
Usually, actors for young and adult versions don't care much about consistencies. Sure, the audience will understand the change of acting, two different actors, right? But in episodes 01 and 02, there was a proper transition.
Because of this, and the fact that they look alike in this show, left the impression that they are indeed one person (and one actor).
Agree with your 2nd point. There were times in ep 2 where her acting was exactly the same as Attorney Woo. Annoyed…

He was vehemently denying to Kang Woo Hak that he (Woo Hak) was Ki Ho, regardless of how many times Woo Hak pieced things together.
Why? Because Bo Geol knew.
Also, the inspirational quote. Ki Ho's mother was the one who said it. Yet, the mother in 2022 said it to both boys exactly the same.
The mother in 2022 and Bo Geol knew something, and they're keeping quiet about it to ensure Bo Geol's real abusive father wouldn't find them.
Some would probably ask, “If Bo Geol was Ki Ho, then why is he non-chalant about the re-appearance of Seo Mok Ha?”
A good question, to which there is possibly a simple answer: they parted ways 15 years ago, and he moved on.
As Mok Ha said herself, they ran away from their abusive fathers. That was everything between them. He doesn't need to see Mok Ha, mission accomplished. And his brother Woo Hak is doing things for Mok Ha anyway.
However, once Bo Geol crosses paths with Mok Ha, it will probably trigger the past and stir up his emotions. He probably won't be able to stop himself and will start to watch out for Mok Ha from a distance (no pun intended, it's a song).
Since everyone is talking about who is KH. There's one clue I don't see everyone mentioning. In ep 1 when they're…
