If I'm going to pick one thing about this series as a review, it's the flashbacks. They showed us the challenges of living, be it with special powers or as an ordinary human being.
And then they touched on the relationships of adults.
Then parents and their kids.
It is very touching. Every single episode with flashbacks is very touching. The director knows how to create the scenes, and what sequence it should be to capture the audience and deliver the message the writer wants.
Forget about super powers. The flashbacks are more powerful and meaningful than their super powers.
As long as Ma is in control, they still have a chance. At least with the way he acted in the last scenes, it seems…
Yep. It's why I think they're going for the “Venom” route. Ma will start playing justice and only kill criminals, while keeping the evil spirit under his control.
While the Counters are 50-50 with him.
The only question problem is, everytime he consumes a soul, the evil spirit possessing him gets stronger. But if Ma's free will is stronger, he can keep it at bay, at least so far, he is still in control.
As long as Ma is in control, they still have a chance. At least with the way he acted in the last scenes, it seems he realised he was dealing with the wrong group of people.
His only target are the ones who made his wife's life harder. He doesn't want any other bloodshed.
From hereon I'm expecting: 1. He'll start to work alone 2. He'll probably act as their pet but is planning on how to take them down 3. Probably get in touch with the Counters to form some truce until they take down the evil spirits 4. He'll turn into a special Counter / Evil Spirit. IF he can prove he can be in control. 5. If number 4 is possible, since he's an evil spirit, he'll be hunted. But since he's in control, he'll do "justice".
Sort of like Chaotic Evil or Neutral Evil. Like Venom. The host and possession are using each other. The host is keeping them in control. And the possession can get their "food" whenever the host kills the criminals.
Its the fact just for the sake of plot flow they dont even bother to tell Ju Seok that those evil spirts were…
They must not tell him because as was explained in episode 7, the evil spirits must not kill each other. If they do, they will absorb each other and they will be unbeatable, or at least, Counters will definitely die.
It was not "for the sake of plot flow", it is the rule of the universe they created. Evil spirits absorbing each other will make them more powerful.
S02E06 reaction.A very good episode. It reminds us of the following:1. Our actions can and will affect the people…
Good points!
The combination of ep5 and 6 was very good. In ep5, while it was obvious from the get-go that the one that killed the Spring Lady was the intense pressure blast, in ep6 they turned it beautifully into a murder story without forcing it. I totally did not expect the revelation in ep6.
So, in ep5, they made something obvious (pressure) and explained it well how it was an unfortunate death. Then in ep6, they went above and beyond showing that what might look like a coincidence was actually designed.
It's a good lesson too, that we shouldn't judge the book by its cover and we should dig deeper, even if it doesn't relate to a person. For example, in Customer Support, or if one is a developer, if someone reports a bug or some issue, we shouldn't dismiss it, we should at least take a look because it might actually be a serious bug. We shouldn't wait "until we cross the bridge" (as some loves to quote).
Imagine if they closed the case as an unfortunate death due to the pressure cooker. The father would've still committed suicide and killed his own daughter because of his guilt and the pressure from the loan sharks, and no one would be there to save the little girl. It is bound to happen since the father is already in a pinched, and his guilt is eating him.
Good point as well, the characters in these two episodes, even the extras, it was like they filmed a real case. There were no overreactions or underreactions. The residents acted as residents instead of some "suspicious" characters. And the main and supporting characters brought out the emotions well without overdoing it.
A very good episode. It reminds us of the following: 1. Our actions can and will affect the people around us in ways we never thought of.
2. We should not judge other people, and condemn them, just because of what we saw and heard from the surface.
3. Regardless of our reasons, we are responsible for our actions because no one forced us.
The Spring Lady, while she has good intentions, she chose to threaten the suspect. She knew what kind of person he is, she should have considered asking him first if there is a problem.
Because she judged and threatened him, as a father who will do anything for his innocent daughter, he was placed further deep in the rat hole.
For the father, likewise, he should've had kept his cool and explained to her. When he went to her unit to commit his crime, and lied about turning himself in, the Spring Lady told him she did not report him because of his daughter.
That was a clear sign that there is a window for them two to talk and work it out.
We have to realise, no human being is pure evil. Even the baddest criminal in history have someone to protect (or using as a reason to take revenge). (We are NOT talking about rapists here, or sexual needs, or similar, like psychopaths.)
And, like it or not, if no one forced us, we have to take responsibility for our actions. Yes, it is understandable why the father started to steal underwear, they need the money, he needs to protect his daughter from the loan sharks. Yes, he had no choice, and it was the fastest route for him to keep the sharks at bay. However, it still is punishable by law.
Yes, maybe the father did ask other people for help and no one were willing. Not a single person. Not the government. No one. So, he had to do things he knew is against the law (be it civil or criminal). Still, he made a free will decision to do it, so he's responsible for his action.
Him killing his own daughter? Now that will never be justifiable, no matter where and how we look at it. If he wants to commit suicide, it's his free will. Hi could've had called the police and social services to their home, so once he's dead, someone will pick up her daughter instead of her living off the streets, or taken by the loan sharks.
Murdering your own children, or any innocent children for that matter, is the ultimate crime. Not even those criminals in deathrow will want to be in the same room as a child murderer, at least most of them won't.
LOL. I guess young people today only want flat, linear stories, that only makes them feel good. They all missed the whole point of the show. The message it wants to tell the audience.
I hope you will all experience more about life, love, relationships, family, so you'll understand this type of shows. One day, hopefully, you'll have a colourful life… with ups and downs, pain and happiness, dull and lively.
The story was great. I'll even watch it again in the future.
I dont seem to understand the point of the writer, i mean why did he embark on a fruitless journey? I think this…
He did not embark on a fruitless journey. The message is about life, love, relationships, family. What it really means to have a beating heart. What it means to have relationships with others, be it familial or romantic. What it means to find love and be loved.
In Moving, they don't have to say it, they show it.
And then they touched on the relationships of adults.
Then parents and their kids.

It was explained in the show. ^_^

Good lessons here.
Or, maybe, you skipped too much you missed the part where she saw him.
It is open-ended. It is up to you if you want him to be dead or alive.
I hope you will all experience more about life, love, relationships, family, so you'll understand this type of shows. One day, hopefully, you'll have a colourful life… with ups and downs, pain and happiness, dull and lively.
The story was great. I'll even watch it again in the future.
If you want him to be alive, then he is alive. If you want him to be her imagination, then he is just her imagination.
That's the point of the writer.
Stories like that usually, not always, have this type of ending where the audience, or reader, is left with the choice on how they want it to end.
Is he alive? Or, she's just imagining him?
