If the English translations are correct, the new identity (let's just call it NakYeon) still talks in a detached way when referring to the memories and experiences of Nak Su.
And she also retained her memories during her “without memories” life, which, as she herself said, is sometimes confusing her.
As the NakYeon identity, she chose to be known by her birth name, Cho Yeong.
In the end, Bu Yeon (a.k.a. Seol Ran), went into a deep sleep and gave full control of the body and the divine power to Cho Yeong.
The problem with Sang Soo, he thinks so highly of himself. He thinks he has a right to know this and that. Or to do this and that. It won't work with someone like Soo Young.
Jong Hyun, on the other hand, was patient and thoughtful. He did not force anything from her, instead, he was there when she needed support.
That shoes he gave her one night? That was very thoughtful. It gives the message that he cares about her genuinely to have noticed a simple thing as her heels. Sang Soo did not, he was focused about him, him, and him.
Now, Sang Soo is not a bad person. But he's doing things wrong. When Mi Kyung tripped during their run, he was sort-of angry at her and blamed her for not listening to him.
You know what that is? A father. A brother. An uncle.
Sang Soo is being friend-zoned because of it. Most women are not looking for a father. They are looking for a boyfriend. A partner. An equal. Someone who is not self-centred and sees them and cares for them. Sang Soo is lucky because Mi Kyung is head-over-heels on him. LOL.
But, the Sang Soo + Mi Kyung relationship will more likely fail. Sang Soo's heart was just broken. He is not yet over it. Forget about healing because he is not yet at that stage. If he enters into a relationship, it's going to be a “rebound relationship”. Mi Kyung is the rebound. Rebound relationships rarely work.
Since it's fiction, they'll make it so that Sang Soo got over, and their rebound relationship turns into something serious. This is the part where he enters the healing phase. Itself still dangerous. A person who is healing and in a relationship, is only in it because someone is helping them heal. Once they have healed… they will start to question why they are in that relationship.
In the end, Mi Kyung will get hurt badly. She has the short stick.
Sang Soo and Soo Young might even end up being together in the end, especially since they both have feelings for each other, and they had a false start. If they both learn from their mistakes, and their false start, they both might jump into it and admit their feelings for each other. Deep, hidden, feelings, a false start, are strong.
Well looks like Buyeon also lost her memories in part 1 and everyone is forgetting that too. In part 1 her memories…
Bu Yeon herself? She only did for a short while, after the accident, although it is doubtful. Bu Yeon is wise even when she was 10. She knew she was used and someone murdered her. A wise person wouldn't just go telling everyone who she is.
She bid her time. Took on a new identity as Mu Deok. Kept in the shadows. Waited. She studied. Practised her craft. Made herself stronger, a true master of the Divine Power, not even Jin Mama can begin to imagine.
And, she is Ice Stone-touched—twice (as a stillborn, and as a 10-year-old).
Maybe she lost her memories, but only for a short while. Or, she never did, and she knew how to keep herself off the radar.
I have always wanted Naksu to get out of BY’s body because it’s not hers. However after today I’m more certain…
> To me, if BY did not trapped Naksu’s soul, the other girl that Naksu wanted to shifted soul w/ would likely get Naksu body to heal properly and Naksu’s original body
I doubt. Park Jin was on Nak Su's tail at that time. Even if Nak Su wasn't soudnapped by Bu Yeon, Nak Su in her new body wouldn't care at all what happens to her old body. The reason she had to use her soul ejector was to escape, and let Park Jin think they captured her.
Also, petrification is two-way. The victim will also petrify. The soul in Nak Su's body would eventually petrify too, if Park Jin hasn't killed her yet.
What Bu Yeon did in Part 1 Episode 1 was the best course of action for Nak Su, and for everyone else.
Bu Yeon needs a soul that is equal to her energy, that was Nak Su. It was their "fate" to bump into each other that night. Bu Yeon knew what she needs to do to move forward her plans. Nak Su just happened to be that soul that rivals her own.
You see, if Bu Yeon took in a soul weaker than her own, the body will more likely remain blind, and Bu Yeon's soul will remain in control. If Bu Yeon takes in a soul stronger than her own, well, that's like suicide already.
Bu Yeon waited patiently, and found that soul, which happened to be Nak Su.
Not surprising, really. As I've said before, Part 1 is about Bu Yeon's plan, she only used Nak Su from the beginning.Master…
That's a possibility, too. Now that she no longer have use for her, she can take Nak Su's energy for herself and live the life she wanted (and can see).
And may end up being the queen, if Jang Uk ever becomes king. Nak Su and Jang Uk time together, that for sure Bu Yeon is knows too. For things Nak Su didn't share about her past, Bu Yeon can just dismiss it as "something I've forgotten". LOL, sweet plan.
If the original JBY soul has been self aware during this entire time, would love to hear what she thinks about…
> The ice stone was his destiny as master Lee once said, she had nothing to do with it and she saved him way before the ice stone dilemma
Remember, Bu Yeon was used by Jin Mu and her father to find the Ice Stone.
And Bu Yeon tried to use the Ice Stone, she was pushed to the lake (but apparently survived).
Later in Part 1, Bu Yeon slowly made her plans known, to retrieve the Ice Stone.
We do not know exactly when she started planning, but when Nak Su bumped into Bu Yeon in Part 1 Episode 1, she definitely already had a plan, but it involves stealing a soul that can match hers. When Nak Su bumped her, she found her target.
Then Jang Uk came into the picture. Bu Yeon can see energy. Also, she is a very intelligent and wise person. There is no doubt she knew about Jang Uk.
So, when Jang Uk almost became a victim of a soul ejector, Bu Yeon stepped in and stopped it, because Jang Uk is the perfect vessel for the Ice Stone. To the point that, Bu Yeon made sure Nak Su will give up on using the Ice Stone herself, because it has to be given to Jang Uk.
The Ice Stone 'dilemma' has been there since Bu Yeon was used to find it and when she used it.
Sure, it is Jang Uk's destiny. Well, it is also Jang Uk's destiny to be saved by Bu Yeon. It is Bu Yeon's destiny to save Jang Uk. It is Bu Yeon's destiny to steal the soul of Nak Su.
And, as per Master Lee, too, everything is still going according to Bu Yeon's plans. Part 2 is everyone's destiny. Simply put, it is the destiny of Bu Yeon to concoct such an elaborate and risky plan.
This is one of the plot holes in this drama imo, the Hong sisters hit a wall with their creative writing after…
> What colour? We know in fact nothing abt Jinbuyeon except for whatever is master Lee saying .... Andyes we still don't know why Naksu soul was trapped in buyeon body.... But Naksu herself is not innocent if we wanna talk abt true colours, she was originally going to take over the body of another innocent girl.
Not exactly. Part 1 dropped a lot of clues about Bu Yeon. For example, it was clear Bu Yeon stole Nak Su's soul to forward her plans to retake the Ice Stone. Bu Yeon patiently manipulated Nak Su into making decisions favourable for Bu Yeon's plans.
They also showed how Bu Yeon, when she was 10 years old, tried to use the Ice Stone for herself. And they hinted that people who attempted to use the Ice Stone before were tempted and corrupted by its power. This points to the possibility that Bu Yeon was also tempted, but because she is blind, she was at a disadvantage.
Then Nak Su bumped into her in Part 1 Episode 1 and Bu Yeon sensed the tremendous power of Nak Su, a fitting soul for her plans.
For example, if the soul she steals is weaker than her, Bu Yeon's soul will still have control over the body. She needs a soul that is as powerful as her. That is Nak Su.
When she stole Nak Su's soul, because they are equals, they instead cancelled each other's power. This was depicted in Part 1: 1. When Nak Su first met Bu Yeon 2. When Nak Su is sleepwalking, when in reality it was Bu Yeon 3. When Bu Yeon protected their body from Master Lee, and Master Lee immediately recognised there are two souls in the body, both very powerful. 4. When the Body steps into Jin home, or touched a Jin relic/artifact, Bu Yeon's soul overpowers Nak Su. 5. Bu Yeon forcefully takes over whenever Nak Su is in danger, like when she had to steal a human's energy, Bu Yeon unleashed her Divine Power to purify the energy.
And so on.
In Part 2, Bu Yeon is weaker than Nak Su. Two possibilities: a. Jin Mama almost killed her. b. When Jin Mu awoken Nak Su's AoS-mode, it completely overpowered Bu Yeon, to the point that the Divine Power was useless--and the body petrified.
In Part 1, the only reason the Body did not reject Nak Su, was because Bu Yeon was in control of the Divine Power.
In Part 2, Nak Su's memories had to be locked because Bu Yeon, being weak, needs to relinquish control over the Divine Power. Which is what Master Lee meant when he said that he will remove Bu Yeon's soul.
But apparently, Bu Yeon's soul is still in body.
We can only suspect one thing: Bu Yeon talked to Master Lee and coerced him to follow her solution.
1. So, in the end, Bu Yeon remains in the body. 2. She relinquished control over the Divine Power. 3. Bu Yeon was probably the one who used the Divine Power to lock Nak Su's memory. 4. With Nak Su's memory locked, Master Lee redirected Nak Su's energy to feed the Divine Power. 5. With a new source of energy, the Divine Power was able to reverse the petrification of the body. 6. Meanwhile, Bu Yeon is secretly consuming Nak Su's energy.
This is the reaosn why "NakYeon" must not use the Divine Power. Every time she does, the lock on Nak Su's memories gets weaker.
Once Nak Su becomes conscious, obviously she will take back her energy. Without an energy source fo the Divine Power, the petrification process may restart.
And well, Bu Yeon will not be able to recovery fully, since part of her plan is to consume Nak Su's energy and let Nak Su's soul disappear.
Jin Buyeon being the villain we didn't know we were getting 😅😅😅😅
Not surprising, really. As I've said before, Part 1 is about Bu Yeon's plan, she only used Nak Su from the beginning.
Master Lee simply confirmed it in Part 2 Episode 7. And she is still using Nak Su in Part 2, as Master Lee said, everything is still going according to Bu Yeon's plans.
Either Bu Yeon was corrupted by the Ice Stone, or she hates the world of mages.
But, I think the new identity, "NakYeon", will merge Bu Yeon and Nak Su together. The desires of Bu Yeon + the love of Nak Su = NakYeon as the new owner of the Body, and combined soul.
Who is she now?Naksu?Bu yeon?Cho Yeong?Probably innocent Cho Yeong. She has no memory of being Naksu. So it must…
> Who is she now? > Naksu? > Bu yeon? > Cho Yeong?
She is a new identity we can just call "NakYeon". 1. Nak Su and Cho Yeong are one and the same. Cho Yeong is her legal name. Nak Su was the name given to her by Jin Mu. 2. Bu Yeon is the priestess
> Probably innocent Cho Yeong. She has no memory of being Naksu. So it must be Cho Yeong who fell in love with Jang Uk.
A: see previous answer
> So if she gains her memories, she'll become naksu who loved Jang Uk.
> But what about Bu Yeon. This silent character whom we know nothing about. Did she influence Naksu's feelings for Jang Uk? (like Mr. Queen kinda thing) Did she ever loved Jang Uk?
A: I've explained before that Part 1 was about Bu Yeon and Bu Yeon's plan to retrieve the Ice Stone.
This was confirmed by Master Lee in Part 2 Episode 7, when he said that everything is still going according to Bu Yeon's plans.
Two things: a. Master Lee already had a hunch on what Bu Yeon was planning back in Part 1. b. When Master Lee tried to remove Bu Yeon's soul, Bu Yeon probably talked to him and coerced him to do her bidding.
When Master Lee told Jin Mama he has to remove Bu Yeon's soul for the body to survive, that was because Master Lee understood that Bu Yeon's soul is already weak, and thus, the Divine Power of the body can not fight back the petrification. Unfortunately, while Bu Yeon's soul is still in the body, she has full control over the Divine Power.
When Master Lee dived in, Bu Yeon probably talked to him and gave him a "better" solution. Bu Yeon relinquished her control over the Divine Power so Master Lee can redirect Nak Su's energy into feeding the Divine Power. In turn, the Divine Power was used to locked Nak Su's memories so the body won't recognise that the energy is coming from a different soul.
Meanwhile, Bu Yeon's soul is still inside, silently feeding on Nak Su's energy too. Master Lee did not that Bu Yeon's soul is still in the body until Part 2 Episode 7.
> Her existance is still a mistery. > First they said her soul was gone. > Now they say she will use Naksu's energy and take over her own body. > So will Jung So Min come back again?
A: see previous answer
> But who's more wronged? > Cho Yeong who got used by her enemies for all her life? OR > Bu Yeon who got betrayed by her own father?
A: No one. It is not about who was wronged. It is about the possibilities and dangers of the Alchemy of Soul, which Bu Yeon used herself in Part 1 to steal Nak Su's soul and used her in Part 1, and then again, use her in Part 2.
> But if Bu Yeon was so powerful, how come she never find her way back to her home? > But instead has the power to trap Naksu's soul in her own body.
A: Bu Yeon is powerful but she is blind. When Nak Su bumped Bu Yeon in Part 1 Episode 1, she sensed Nak Su's tremendous energy. This was probably the time when Bu Yeon completed her master plan to steal back the Ice Stone, and then later to use Nak Su's energy to make herself stronger.
All throughout Part 1, it was the story of Bu Yeon's plan to get back the Ice Stone. She even patiently taught Nak Su about the Ice Stone and manipulated her to make choices that will benefit her (Bu Yeon) plan. For example, Bu Yeon made sure Nak Su will make the choice to not use the Ice Stone and instead let Jang Uk own it. This is a known method in marketing and by manipulators, make other people think they made the decision on their own, otherwise they will resist. Also known as, mind conditioning.
> I don't know. > Who's using whose body? OR > Who's using whose soul? For their advantage.
A: Bu Yeon is in control of her own body. Unfortunately, the events in the latter part of Part 1 made her weak.
1. Jin Mama almost killed Bu Yeon. 2. Jin Mu have Nak Su's soul under his thumb, which can allow him to have complete control of Nak Su, and Bu Yeon finds it very hard to fight back the control.
As was displayed in Part 1, and as I've always said, Bu Yeon and Nak Su are cancelling each other's powers. One soul has to sleep for the other to have control. If they both attempt to control one body, well, they probably could die (Bu Yeon never let this happen). They also demonstrated in Part 1 how external forces can make one soul overpower the other, thus, allowing them dominance over the body.
In Part 2, Bu Yeon is weak (see previous answer on why). She is consuming Nak Su's energy to recover. One body can only house one soul, it was Bu Yeon's plan all along to consume Nak Su's energy, as per Master Lee in Part 2 Episode 7, everything is still going according to Bu Yeon's plans.
> Who's the hostage? > Is it Cho Yeong or Bu Yeon?
A: Cho Yeong / Nak Su (they're one person/identity). The Body belongs to Bu Yeon, and Bu Yeon's soul is still in the body.
> With 1 body and 2 souls left, whose ending do we get?
A: NakYeon. I strong suspect that in Part 2, the new identity we call "NakYeon" will assert herself as the owner of the body. She will embrace the memories of Nak Su, and she will accept her role as the high priestess. By doing this, she will be able to use the energy of Nak Su, as well as, have complete control over the Divine Power like Bu Yeon does.
NakYeon may also end up merging the two souls: Bu Yeon and Nak Su.
And well, as of Part 2 Episode 7, this is the only way I can see for "NakYeon" to survive. Otherwise, Bu Yeon will consume Nak Su. Or, Nak Su will re-emerge and fight Bu Yeon, which will restart the petrification process as Master Lee warned.
> I really hope we won't be having so many plot holes when the part 2 ends.
A: Probably not, unless they introduce something new.
So, yeah, the answer is, “yes and no”. ;P

Has been that way since Season 1 Part 1: Episode 1. ;)
So, they split it in 2 parts (not Season, MDL's method is inaccurate).
* Season 1 Part 1: 20 episodes
* Season 1 Part 2: 10 episodes

Probably:
1. Nothing
2. According to her plans (she can marry him and become the next queen with easy access to the Ice Stone)
Bu Yeon only used Jang Uk as the vessel for the Ice Stone.
Master Lee redirected Nak Su's energy as the source for the Divine Power. Since it is Nak Su's energy, not Bu Yeon's…
the body:
1. transformed into Nak Su's original look
2. can see
