Oh, I agree, it is also not about the age per se. It's just weird they chose that route, especially considering the age gap of the actors and characters they portray are not big anyway. The gap with the characters is shorter than the actors! Hehe.
So, if anyone will say "what's wrong if one is older in a relationship", that's not the issue. Better we clarify that before we get thrown under the bus. ^_^;;

Yeah. They did the reverse in this show. They made the actor younger and the actress older. Really weird decision there.
I hope in the next episodes, they'll change it. Maybe they are going after the plot "she doesn't care about her looks but as she finally get serious with love, she took care of herself". Hopefully that's the reason.

Basically, quantum entanglement means that two objects (or humans in the case of Alice) are 100% identical that everything about them is connected in the quantum level (quantum physics). Because of this deep connection linking them, they can share all their memories and experiences.
In Alice, the major reaction was the mother of the ML looks exactly like the girl he eventually liked when he grew up. Not only that, the gf eventually acquired all the memories and experiences of the mother … which made it more … how do you say it … very uncomfortable for many because she practically became his mother.
But, again, the gf is not his mother. Her and his mother are 100% identical in every way, down to their molecules and tomes and quantum level, that the she slowly acquired parts of his mother's memories and experiences.
That's quantum entanglement. They are not the same person. The mother came from a different timeline/universe and the gf is from another timeline/universe. They were not even born in the same time period, the mother was from a far future while the gf was in our present in our timeline/universe. She did not even have the memories and experiences of his mother until later in the series.
Oh, quantum entanglement is a real thing. It is not a theory, it's a fundamental nature of … well nature. It is under quantum physics.
That's basically it. (The actress are the same too btw, so … I hope you don't get trapped in that mother / gf thing.)
As for the time travel … I think you can handle that one. It's confusing at first but the more you think about it, the more it makes sense.

Ahh. If you're up to the challenge, watch Alice. ^_^ Or you can read my next reply … which will definitely spoil Alice so I'll hide it. (which also explains quantum entanglement).
I think it was on iQIYI. But I'm not sure if it is still available, I unsub last Dec 2021 because their Customer Support prefers to blame their customers. (It's not in VIU though.)
I'm curious, what's the beef with the writer? At least according to MDL, "It's Beautiful Now" is the first show I'm watching where she's the writer.
I see that Record of Youth is under her belt but I've heard a lot of good things about it elsewhere. So I'm curious. What shows did she helm that people doesn't like and "ruined"? I'm assuming the MDL list is incomplete?
I will watch, but sparingly. With this writers history, I am not going to get too attached on the front end. Plus,…
The actor is 41 (the dentist) and the actress (the attorney) is 44. In the in-universe chart, he's 39 and she's 41.
Yet, in person, the actress was made-up to look far too older while the actor was made-up to look way younger. I actually keep thinking the attorney is the eldest and the dentist is the second son.
I wonder how the Koreans are taking this in. I mean, they're the masters in making themselves look younger or older, real age aside, they could have made the pair look more of similar age than it currently is. (No offense to the actress.)
Choi Ye Bin looks matured and a grown-up here. It's as if 4 years passed between Penthouse 3 and this show. I'm also glad she's showing her other side of acting (and she's okay after her stint in The Penthouse franchise).

Majority of people who watched Alice gave it a bad rating because they don't understand quantum entanglement and thought that the mother became the girlfriend. That's not true at all.
Again, quantum entanglement. Alice even tried to explain things. Even at the end … well, I'm spoiling too much.
While waiting for the next episode, I’m suddenly in a mood to watch other time traveling dramas. Should I start…
Alice = was based on quantum entanglement. If you are familiar with that, then Alice will be an easy watch. I think I posted comments in MDL's Alice comment section answering questions about the show. I did not write an "explained" article but I have a review here ==> https://im.youronly.one/snoworld/앨리스-alice-2020-2020346/
The Madrid match itself is TOO MUCH already, then they add even more after that.- It's so hard to watch if you…
I forgot to mention, the two actresses perfectly portrayed the emotions of such a scenario if it was real. They full embraced the history of their characters and deeply went in-character and role-played it well.
If they were acting just for the sake of acting, it would be obvious. But they did not, they were deeply into it. I'm glad they approached the scene that way.

Yep, the best. I'm thinking now, maybe the show should've been about them, and athletes while at it.
Even the side of Yu Rim, there still are countries who sees representing another country as betrayal. But they forget that an athlete is still a human being, with friends. Hee Do not letting that become a wedge between them is a good character to imitate, Yu Rim could've completely broken down if even Hee Do turned her back on her (and suicide being high in Korean culture … well).
It was very powerful. It's unfortunate it was overshadowed by the story between Hee Do and Yi Jin.

== Naah, don't worry about it. It is actually a very good discussion. ^_^ They left us no choice, what with having 1 episode per week. Hahahaha.
It at least makes sure our neurons are firing up, generally a good thing as far as brain health is concerned. ^_^
And in any time travel live-action shows, the timing of each scene is a clue, but I just can't make any connection to it.
Thank you for sharing, that is a very good point.
