Well, there is no happiness in life without imperfection. You can only claim you truly love someone if you love them for who they are no matter how silly their excuses are, no matter how selfish they might be in your eyes, no matter what and who they were, are, and will become.
Park Jae Won realised it in ep 13. Ep 14 is about Lee Eun Oh. These two characters are growing and learning what it means to truly love someone.
Will they live happily ever after? That's not guaranteed. I wouldn't even be surprised if they went their separate ways later on. (I explained this in another comment.)
If this show is unrealistic for you, it simply means you were either "very lucky" to have not experienced any of it, or you haven't truly loved someone the way these characters did.

re: "selfish" -- nope. It was explained from all the previous episodes why she decided it … she is/was afraid, deeply afraid to make her "fantasy" a reality because her alter ego was her complete opposite.
I have an ex who was like that. Even though it was too late for us … and even though it was so obvious … for years she denied everything. She was afraid to face the reality of her feelings and the reality of our situation (that there's no more chance for us legally). Eventually, back in 2011, she finally admitted everything and faced the reality.
It was only then that we both truly moved on completely. It was only then that we truly started to see each other as friends. A real closure for us. Even though we sometimes cross paths, even though the spark is still there, we have complete control over ourselves and perfectly know our boundaries.
In this show, I hope they don't end up the same way we did after the girl finally faced her fears and embraced the reality. There is still the possibility they'll go their separate ways in ep 15 and 16.

Many are saying the first few episodes are not easy to watch, two things to remember about that: 1. Majority of shows (and novels for that matter) are not easy to watch (or read) in the beginning. It's a given. 2. In this particular series, the episodes 1 & 2 were based on real life situations which is making a lot of people uneasy. Majority are watching to escape from reality but these two episodes only reminded them of that.
Another thing you'll always hear, the first two episodes are "unrealistic". Not true at all. I've seen it and I've been there -- which parts of those episodes, well… that's a spoiler already.

Before you say that I'm not a woman, don't forget that Chae Hyun Seung did say that he experienced what Yoon Song Ah is experiencing and he acted similarly--he hoped, he kept "positive", he forgave. Exactly how I experienced it only recently, fifteen (!5) years of relationship but in the past year or so I already saw the "red alerts" and had suspicions. Yet I chose to be positive, hoped, and did things to make what I'm denying not to become a reality.
I trusted her just as Chae Hyun Seung trusted his ex-gf, just as Yoon Song Ah trusted his ex-bf. But in the end they chose the other person to the point that they are denying they ever did wrong. I defended her and I still defend her to this day, because for people like us, we see things more on the positive side. That even if we're hurting deeply, we still believe it is unfair to judge those people who hurt us. Deep inside, our love still trumps even if that love is now simply as "human beings" and not romantically, not even as friends.
EDIT: I think the title of the article can be changed so as to appease those with strong opinions about it. It could be something like "The Top 25 Most Heart Korean Actresses in MyDramaList".
Wow, this is actually good. It was already good in episode 1 and it gets better every episode. I hope they can maintain that momentum and give us a series full of lessons and relatable stories.

Noticed how history was changed? Even Ji Mong, the astrologer, was no longer a street drunkard, in the changed timeline Ji Mong became a history professor.
Q: But isn't Ji Mong and Go Ha Jin / Hae Soo reincarnations? A: Not exactly. The premise was Go Ha Jin time-travelled into the body of Hae Soo. It does not necessarily mean they look alike, in fact Go Ha Jin in Hae Soo's body repeatedly mentioned how she's in someone else's body.
If you are familiar with Quantum Leap, exactly the same idea, Scarlet Heart simply did not show us how Hae Soo actually looked like.
Same with Ji Mong. We do not even know if the present-day Ji Mong (the drunkard and the historian) were named "Ji Mong" too.
