Exactly. I don't know if the majority of those leaving comments that "it's unrealistic" ever had a relationship or know someone who's in a relationship.

I remember exchanging comments with someone who really stood their ground that this drama (and "Lovestruck in the City") is unrealistic. What a sad life if they grew up protected and pamphered like a prince or a princess.

It just is unbelievable there are far too many people who either never had a relationship; or are in a "perfect" relationship that they can't believe these dramas and the characters were based on true-to-life stories.

Crazy.

Yeah. The way Zi O started acting was no different from a serial murderer, a psychopath. I suddenly remembered Soujiro Seta from Rurouni Kenshin who was psychopath who only believes that "the weak shall die and the strong shall live" or "survival of the fittest".

If there's a villain, there must be an anti-thesis to the villain, the hero. If they'll ever make a Season 2, it looks like their daughter will be that hero. She will probably start weak because she would have grown up very different, probably discriminated and hunted too. But that will be what would make her decide to save stop her father and his 10,000 army. A total opposite of her father.

It'll be a very interesting plot if ever.

Aside:
I'm only thinking she'll go against her father because the family which adopted her taught her to be a good person. Assuming she grew up with a good family versus the Zi O army who were molded by Zi O, his insane father, and the crazy government.

Also, there's a possibility the baby stopped forgetting already when she charges up. Noticed how in the last episode the baby listened to her mother and stopped her charge up? I'm thinking that Gu Reum finally got through and her baby will always remember her last words.

If so … she'll probably end up waging a war against Zi O's army, carrying her mother's wishes to be good and show to the world that she's not a "monster" not like her father.

As someone who was in a similar relationship like Hyun Seung and Song Ah, for 15 years, I disagree. ^_^

A relationship works ONLY if the couple knows how to handle their situation. It is a total myth that a relationship will only work if there is "balance" and/or "the same amount of effort" given. "Balance" and "the same amount of effort" will never happen no matter what the two of you do, plan, or agree on. Even identical twins can not achieve such and they grew up together under the same roof, how much more two unique individuals?

What matters is how the two of you handles your differences. That IS the ONLY way a relationship will work. Everything else are simply stepping stones to properly handle the "imbalance".

Let me ask you this: did you enter a relationship hoping the other party will conform to your "ideal boyfriend/girlfriend"? Maybe what you need is doll.

Both of you are two unique individuals, you can never and must never expect someone to conform to your own personal ideals of how they should be, how they should act, how they should think, how they should make decisions, how they should love, and how much they should give. A relationship is not a business where effort is being measured. True love does not expect anything in return.

You love a person for who they are, and that means you love that person with all their shortcomings too. So, if they don't give the same level of love that you do and you're whining about it, then you don't love that person at all.

In Hyun Seung and Song Ah's relationship, there was no one who was "selfish". Song Ah wasn't selfish at all.

Again, as someone who was in a similar relationship and who loves the way Hyun Seung does, I disagree that "this drama romanticises the pain of one person who's selfless". It doesn't. On the contrary, they showed what is actually real and true-to-life. Claiming that they romanticized it is an insult to those of us who've been through it and who loves the way Hyun Seung does. It is also an insult to people like Song Ah (a man or a woman) who happened to be the recipient of a giver-type and healer-type person's love--they never asked for it and they should never be blamed if eventually they can't handle it anymore (like Song Ah did when she broke up, like what my then gf of 15 long years did last August 16, 2020).

Don't insult us.

Since I love the way he does, I can give you an idea how he would've been affected by the break-up.

(pardon the harshness but this is how it is)
1. This was already explained in the episode: you want to be alone because you're damn scared to have another relationship.
2. You shut everybody out
3. You smile but it's a very empty smile. It's not a sad smile, it's just void, empty, null, nothing, as if you're a robot trying to smile because you're expected to smile and laugh.
4. You go to work, do your job, and leave. Sometimes you do overtimes because what the f, my life and I don't trust anyone anymore, they will all hurt me anyway. F U all.
5. You join eat outs and whatever event because they expect you to not because you want to. You're actually thinking of getting it over with as soon as possible. Because, who the f*** cares. They'll all hurt you anyway. You can't trust anyone these days.
6. You're just tired. Tired of your life. Tired of sacrificing for people. Tired of doing good for everyone. Tired of all the expectations. Tired of all the people looking at you with pity and all that sh*t.

Once people like us get over our depression, we lock ourselves up and only open up a fraction of ourselves to close friends and a few colleagues. That's about it. Which was what was shown episode 16 when Hyun Seung was just being lukewarm in the office, even to Song Ah. The anger is gone. The sadness is gone. In fact, all emotions are simply gone. If you're not in my "closest circle" you won't get any genuine emotions from me.

And again, we're very, very, very, damn scared.

Finally, someone who recognized that people like Hyun Seung does exist. I've been seeing a lot of comments that "it's unrealistic" and "people like him doesn't exist" … to the point that it's insulting because you're one such person.

He isn't sure if he's straight or bi or gay.

Personally, their story is not over. It looks like Yun Seung was fine with him being bi or gay as long as he is honest with himself and to her. Based on the previous episodes, Yun Seung's issue was he hid things from her but later she calmed down after she understood that he is not sure himself.

Eventually, they proceeded with the divorce because that's what her husband wants, to face his "identity crisis" alone and not to burden her anymore. Obviously, Yun Seung did not like it, but if the person doesn't want to share their burden, you can not force them to, they have to come to terms with it themselves.

They might get back together. They might stay as close friends only. Everything lies on her husband because he's the one going through an identity crisis and the one being stubborn by thinking he's being a burden to her--when she wants him to share it with her.

It depends on how mature and professional both parties are.

I've been in a very similar relationship like what Hyun Seung and Song Ah have. I gave everything for her. Her happiness was my goal. I sacrificed a lot for her. She prioritised her career. Eventually, after 15 years, she called it all off for the exact same reason Song Ah did. She can no longer handle the reality that someone loves her because he just loves her, and that it's fine for him (me in this case) to suffer just so she's smiling.

Yes, we do exist. And even though we were hurt when they broke up with us, we still do not think they are evil, instead we understood why. But again, if they ever want to get back (if we do still want it), they'll have to make the effort, again, just like what Hyun Seung told Song Ah to try and win him over.

Why? Because the stories they used were all true-to-life stories. ^_^

I love the way Hyun Seung loves. My then gf of 15 years loved me the way Song Ah does. Our first break-up was after being together for 6 years. Then we added 9 years more later before it ended for good.

We're not even Koreans … we're both half-Filipinos and half-Chinese. You don't need anything special about someone if you truly love them. You also don't need any reason why you should love someone for that long if you truly love them. ^_^ That's life. That's true love.

Song Ah doesn't like Hyun Seung as much as he likes her. It is usually the case when the "love" of the other party is simply too great for the other. In any case, there can never be any balance in a relationship, someone will always love the other far greater. What matters is how they both handle the situation.

As much as I want to retain my original rating of 8/10, I had to drop it to 6/10 because of how they turned Gu Ruem into the dumbest and most stupid detective in fiction and real-life history. That was the biggest mistake the writer and director did.

They were doing good until they made Gu Ruem an "extra" that doesn't need anything else other than to be … well, "extra".

Lols, exactly. That episode where she stupidly called the police station was the day her character died. From a well-experienced detective to a total garbage.

It was the biggest mistake they made. They completely made her an "extra" character that does not need anything else other than to be dumb.

I'm not sure why the actress let them do it. In any case, her acting after that episode probably reflects her disappointment in the sudden turn of her character. Her disappointment and confusion showed in her acting.
