And as someone who has been a kpop fan since ages and has been watching drams for a very long time. I can't explain to you how disgusted I am with the sexualisation especially in the k-industry.

The sexualistaion of BOTH women and men has been a problem since ages in the industry "a groups isn't doing well, thats okay we will jst make the concept sexier" Famous examples being Stellar, Fiestar CLC all faced massive concept changes. Why? Because of audience. And no one is being vocal about this as much as they used to. Because wdym people are now using "finally someone over the age of 18 had debuted" to justify sexualisation. And this is being NORMALISED.

I've personally blamed entertainment companies (Hybe, JYP, SM... ) for this topic. They don't just sell idols music, acting or talent. They sell the person and the feeling of having a personal connection with them. Constant social media content, fan interactions, livestreams, fan meetings, exclusive memberships, merchandise, SHIPPING CULTURE, romanticised marketing and carefully constructed personalities all encourage fans to become emotionally invested in the celebrity. And companies actually need such fans because thats where the money is for them. They spike ratings and whatnot.

And this isn't inherently a female issue. Companies have created the exact same system around attractive female celebrities where men became the primary audience behaving this way. The underlying problem is the monetisation of parasocial relationships, not the sex of the fans.

I'm not saying fans have no responsibility for what they personally do. If someone harasses another person or tells them to kill themselves, that's obviously their responsibility. But we also can't ignore that these fans most of the times are infact TEENAGERS.

(I haven't mentioned the male side of sexualisation as much because you made some good examples, my point is more towards the kpop industry as I'm not very knowledge in the K-drama industry so I wouldn't even pretend to know and english is not my first language.)

This movie is basically the context you need, to understand both seasons. It also takes place before the series. Since all of this connects it really doesn't matter how you watch it. I don't like staying in suspense so I watched the movie first but if you ike suspense then watch the series first.

Honestlyyyyy. Looking at starlightboys this lineup wasn't half bad.

TF was this. Even after the first two episodes I stuck around because this show didn't disspoint in terms of talented trainees... and still we got this lineup like 6/9 deserve the position but the other three don't Xin Che who? Xu... who? Lee daeul who? Congb where? DuanXing Xing where? and litreally any other trainee could have done so much better in the lineup im crying like tf. I don't ever watch anything on air and this proved as a waste of time.

If congb doesn't make it to top9 im going to actually kms. And idk what they were thinking with Xin Che and Mr. 6th place but if they make it boy im readdy to boycott this group cause atp you can't convince me that theses two didn't pay for the votes.
