I think Wen Xiao was chosen because she lost her father to a demon, but still wasn't prejudiced against them. Hence showing that her heart is kind and pure. It's similar to how Zhu Yan saw a human hurting demons, but still chose to believe that not all humans are that horrible and vicious. His heart is also very kind. That's one of the biggest similarities between them.
It's even more evident when you see how others around them react to similar situations. Zhuo Yi Chen starts out very prejudiced against demons, because a demon killed his father and brother. Pei Si Jing is also the same, because of what happened with her brother. And so is Bai Jiu. It's their eventual interactions with Zhu Yan and him showing them that not all demons are evil that they turned around and changed their opinions. Li Lun went completely off the rails as well and started hating all humans.

I was fully prepared to at least feel a little sorry for Wen Zong Yu, even though he's a despicable human being. Turns out his hate for demons is completely misplaced. He blames Long Yu for killing his wife and child, but is failing to see that it was his fault to begin with. He tried to scam Long Yu so she would give up her scale while fully aware that it would kill her. What did he expect she would do when she found out? Thank him for playing her and willingly die?

Same here. Flaws aside, I still immensely enjoy his work.

I wholeheartedly agree that his specialty is characters and the bonds between those characters. He also has a talent for building worlds, but plot details tend to take a step back. It's all about which plot holes you can ignore and still enjoy the story. Some people will not be able to ignore them and drop the drama or hate it, but others will overlook them in favour of the multitude of positives about this drama.

I'd say I'm in the second group. I've become attached to the wonderful characters, so I'm ignoring the plot holes.

How many titles with "Blossom" in it does it make this year? There were already 4 right?

As I mentioned in my comment, I know that killing Fei would not cure the plague , but seeing as even Fei didn't know that, means that Cheng Huang would also not know it.

Cheng Huang is a demon much more powerful than Fei, if he wanted to find him, he should have had no problem to. Also, Fei was only locked up much later, when a new Baize Goddess was in power.

I thought The Classic of Mountains and Seas was basically like an encyclopedia. So it does mention the mythological beast Bai Ze, but the fact that it basically killed itself to turn it's powers into a token and grant it to a human and a demon was an original idea for this drama. It's not like a detailed novel with explanations. If anything, it's even less detailed than any dramas based on it.

I wonder if there's a translated version of that book.

Suffered is definitely the right word.

Or to heal her. Because even Fei thinks that breaking his demon core will heal the plague. So instead of killing a bunch of innocent demons, he could have just killed Fei. It would not have helped, but logically should have been his first demon kill.

Based on where the story is heading, I will be needing closure.

I've mentioned this before, but I'll say it again. Strong Girl Namsoon. It's a 2023 drama, but I only watched it this year, so I guess it counts. I didn't even finish this one and it says a lot, because I've watched a lot of dramas, but I have only ever dropped 4 dramas.

Hi! Merry Christmas! Prepare for some tears for this one. I'm going to go cry for the remaining FOF episodes.
