I'm trying to, but do we have the time for all this in only ten episodes? I think it's because of all these plot points that we're barely getting any DechGreat.

It annoys me, too. Can I rant about it for a paragraph?

I had the weirdest talk with someone on a different BL's page a few days ago. He was a minor and didn't want to ask his parents for access to an account that would allow him to watch that BL, and he didn't want to pirate it (and on that, good for him!) He asked someone to summarize the previous three episodes of the show, since he had only been able to see the first three, and I did...

And then he posted a comment saying that since he couldn't watch anymore, he would give the show a 3/10. I replied, quite politely imo, saying "oh no, don't rate it low just because you can't watch it, that's for shows you don't like ;_;" with the little crying emoji and all... But he got all defensive, saying he didn't want to argue and that he couldn't rate it more than 4 or 5 without watching it, and blocked me. [????????]

So now:
a) The rating is lower, since there aren't that many people even watching;
b) I'm scared of trying to help young teenagers on this website. The age gap is too real. @_@

I think they're trying to have their cake and eat it, too.

I haven't watched the original, but the protagonist there is an archaeologist and history buff, so she gets to meddle in these historically accurate plotlines. She also had some scenes cooking.

Great is a doctor, so we get him taking care of people in the past and the whole present plot with doctors and nurses.... but they're also trying to add the original stuff, like some of the cooking (frying durians) and now this whole king/emperor situation with a minister + Sri and Jam. I guess Great will be upgraded from a doctor/chef to a doctor/chef/historian soon, and I don't think there's enough time to do that and the second couple without sacrificing too much of the romance. @_@ I hope I'm wrong.

About the wounds, for sure. And how come his thin 100% cotton/linen shirt was unscathed while his skin was all messed up? But this is just me being nitpicky because I legit expected more damage, and thus more comfort scenes. lol

edited: about marrying him off, perhaps. I just feel like she's trying to prepare the ground for one of her friends to offer a daughter in a marriage proposal --- so she can get rid of him in case he reverts back into being the usual Gaew. But maybe not and she was just attention-seeking (that was my first impression; the marrying thing was an after-thought.)

Don't you think it's a little nonsensical to go that far into the historically-accurate king/emperor plot from the original when our MC is a doctor instead of an archaeologist who loves history? They should've kept the original's profession (and thus there would be no doctor plots both past and present) or removed a lot of this emperor plot (does Great even know how to meddle in this like I heard the lakorn MC did? Is Great a doctor/chef/historian/know-it-all?)

I don't think they have the time for all of this!

We can only hope they manage, I guess.

I hate that there were only two non-deep wounds. His shirt wasn't even torn - and yeah, that sounds bad when I say it like that, but come on! He was hit a gazillion times and the damage didn't show that A_A

Agreed about the new characters and the sudden third couple (Sri and Jam). I guess we're going to have a plot about the king/emperor, since I heard that happened in the original, but it seems ill-fit for this version. Apparently the protagonist of the lakorn was an archeologist who really liked history and meddled with what was going to happen - Great is a doctor who probably only took high school-level history classes and (IMO) should be more occupied by doctor-y things and trying to get back to the future. I guess they just can't/won't throw away this plot, but we don't have as many episodes as the lakorn did, and there were no medical escapades (like in the promo) in that one either... I think something is gonna give way to all that, and it might be couple time D:

It's weird to think this MC has been doing the stuff the protagonist from the original lakorn seems to have been known for. I haven't watched it, but if they wanted to make Great such a different character, it might have been better to cut that one long cooking scene and some of the historical part he wouldn't necessarily remember from highschool History classes. A_A

(Not that I don't like the historical part, I just agree that it's confusing --- and too much for few episodes.)

ngl, I wish this plot didn't exist or was introduced earlier. It seemed really weirdly placed in this episode.

I'm fine with ReungWat, but it came out of nowhere and disturbed the pacing of the episode. They should've done that scene differently. Perhaps if they had introduced the thing with the desert in a previous episode...

My main issue, couple-wise, was the sudden introduction of the plot with Sri and Jam. It connects to the emperor's plot, which was also sudden and apparently will eat up a lot of time of a fairly short show. It was super-important in the lakorn because the protag was into history, but since Great is a doctor, we're getting all these doctor-related plots (both in the past and the present), and I don't think we'll have the time for doctors, history, and three couples. (not to mention frying durian)

That interrogation scene pissed me off. It was way too long and too repetitive. That flashback of Falcon fighting and stabbing Dam wasn't necessary after the 'previously on' reminded people of what happened the week before. There was nonsensical slowmo from 5:41 to 6:17 - they could have cut that. There were even parts where no one was speaking out loud, and the OST blasted while their lips moved. Was the point just to show that it took time to solve? Because... it ended actually taking up precious time from the main couple @_@ and they also had a couple of different dialogues about how he made it out/and how "easy" it was since Falcon talked to them, so we didn't actually need to see so much of it...

I'm enjoying it, too - and the NC didn't bother me at all @_@
I do think the main couple needed more time this episode, and the director they could've taken some extra minutes from the flashbacks of Falcon fighting Dam (we just saw that last episode), from part of that long interrogation - it was quite repetitive IMO - and perhaps even from leaving the Tsi and Jam plot for another time :X I don't know if we needed a third couple right now.
Now that I think of it, they could've shortened the scene with Jumpa praising Gaew to her friends, too.
I hope next week we see more of Dech and Great.

Thank you for the historical background. I was very confused about that scene - hoping they address it next episode if the story is going that way. (But is it? We already have so many subplots)
