I won't lie and say this drama kept me on the edge of my seat or had me excitedly waiting every week but everytime I put on a new episode I found myself completely immersed in its world, not even noticing the time that flew by and I emerged at the end of every episode with the same thought : wow that was good! This is to say it's a solid drama through and through and tho it might not appeal to a large audience it's a really good watch. I had been waiting for HJM's comeback to dramaland and he did not disappoint.
Finally done (in every sense of the word lol) with this drama. Tbh it started as a bumpy ride then went full on trainwreck but WeiLan was oh so good, it was worth it only for them.
They only have the spinoffs, I'm looking for the unaired scenes that were released on naver today. Another solution is the naver downloader to get the videos. Thank you anyway :)
I got a question for those who wanted a different ending, what kind of ending would you like to happen? For me,…
I personally just wanted BH as SB to be allowed to say a proper goodbye to his love and friends and found family and I wanted CJ to be made aware of the truth so he could understand the sense of loss he's left with so he can come to terms with it and move on properly. I simply wanted closure, not necessarily a fairy-tale happy ending.
I agree with you i also wanted sobong as the end game too but if it's the real 100% bonghwan's soul and consciousness…
So-yong was never at the forefront, the writers completely erased her and tho initially it was hinted she had some influence the more the story went, everything was SB's and it was implied SY was forever gone. You can try to convince me the king also loved SY but I won't believe it (pretty sure the spinoff existed only to justify this), the king loved SB and SB only. BH told the king about himself but I don't think the king took it seriously, tho he might start to believe it now after BH left, he already felt the emptiness but we'll never know that because the show didn't bother telling us how or if the king comes to terms with the truth and loss, just like they didn't allow BH as SB to say his goodbye and leave with a peaceful heart. Again, I don't exactly object the idea of the ending but it lacked closure and the proper development leading up to it.
I agree... I actually didn't prepare myself for this ending at all, as I thought that So Yong is not writer's…
I don't even mind them being separated, I believe it's right that BH goes back to his original body and time (I like to believe he meets CJ's reincarnation and they find each other again) but him as So-bong never got to say a proper goodbye and this lack of closure is what I dislike the most. Only SY's arc was resolved but if you look at it from BH/SB and CJ's perspective, it feels frustratingly incomplete.
Something irks me and I wanna let it out here, please be kind if you don't agree. The reason some of us are disappointed with the ending isn't because we "desparately want this to be BL". The writers didn't bother to flesh out So-yong and keep her present enough for us viewers to form a bond with her. It's like they forgot about her and decided to bring her back in the very last half. If the writers themselves didn't care about their own character, why should I as a viewer? Why is it our fault for getting emotionally invested and rooting for the character and relationship the show itself have been selling us for 19.5 episodes? I think the feeling of loss and emptiness is valid, We do not hate So-yong or think she's undeserving of closure but seeing So-bong do all the heavy lifting only to be discarded in the end doesn't sit well with us. They didn't have a proper goodbye, no one really knew they were there (other than Cheol-jong feeling something (someone?) is missing in his life but not being able to understand why which is tragic and cruel to his character but I won't talk about this now). So-bong was unceremoniously taken away for the life they worked hard to build, the deep love they found and the family and friends they made. They deprived So-bong of their own closure and it sucks.
