As someone who wished I could erase the last 8 minutes of the show from my memory, I always give out this friendly…
there's an extremely detailed analysis of the show on tumblr based on the theory that the entirety of the show happens inside the 12th door. it's genious and makes a lot of sense. there are doors inside the doors and the 12th is about going all the way back to the start and doing the 11 doors all over again with no memory of the 1st time. the 30 (or was it 50?) years jiushi spends to meet lanzhu and his friends again is actually inside the 12th door, the very last scene is him finally finding the door and the way out of the game, he goes back to his younger self and everything and everyone (including lanzhu!!) is real. i guess we will never know if this interpretation is true but it's the one i'm gonna live with lol
finished ep36 and i have a question : do they ever explain how lanzhu can physically exist in the real world despite being a virtual character made up of big data? if not, can someone help me understand?
The Xiangyao door? Watching that door is really hard, as if all emotions are put into one place.
i can't stop thinking about jiushi being an earthquake survivor and they made him witness the love of his life being crushed to death by a collapsing building, it's so cruel
you mean the original broadcast with 78 episodes? i think they're still up on dramac00l tho i can't vouch for…
ah i see! well try this : on the discussion board, our friend LordFengCui posted a topic with a gdrive link to the subs. i haven't used them myself but try contacting them to get the files?
you mean the original broadcast with 78 episodes? i think they're still up on dramac00l tho i can't vouch for the quality of the subs, i didn't check them
after watching the full episodes, Iām genuinely confused why suddenly they decided to ban it in china.. there…
censorship sucks but this was undoubtedly a romantic love story through and through. even without prior knowledge of the original novel, i would still see and understand what they had as romance because the show is so heavily queer coded you just can't interpret it otherwise. once again censorship sucks but characters don't have to kiss and f*ck on screen to call it love, there are endless other ways to still show that
ngl that's always been a petpeeve with cdramas. i wish they would let them use their own voices at least, i firmly believe it's an integral part of acting. just like they use their facial expressions, eyes, body etc, the use of the voice for line delivery, intonation, etc is just as important in an actor performance and it's a shame to cut that out
Every time I hear š¶I will never let you go.... tears come. Thank you Pavlov
same here, it's such a moving song. i first heard it when i just started the drama and didn't have much context for anything and it still made me tear up and now it hits 10000 times harder š
on the river god arc, lingling's first door alone and it's funny how he mentions lanzhu every 2 minutes. boy do you miss him that much already? but i understand, i miss him too on my screen
EDIT : never mind, i think i get it now
not yet, i just finished ep 27 and trying to recover from the pain by thinking about funny things š
lanzhu and jiushi as soon as they spot each other inside the door : šš¤©š„°šš¤š
