does anyone know what happen if they just dont enter the doors?
my understanding is one can refuse to enter for a moment but they can't do it forever. when the time to enter comes, wherever you are whatever door you cross will lead you into the game so unless you spend your life avoiding doors which sounds impossible, it's just unavoidable. i guess the consequence of refusing is death, just like when they fail to clear the door. i hope i'm not mistaken and if anyone has a clear answer i'd like to read about it too
the new year's episode has me in my feels, so domestic and tender π₯Ί "i can see what others can't, like the light in you" then insert the softest look in lanzhu's eyes like stop! even i am shaken lol it's also funny to me how the entire episode is just everyone acknowledging jiushi is different to lanzhu and very special to him
i'm lowkey scared tho, i feel this is the calm before the storm
I still think about that moment in the school bathroom where Li Dongyuan is nagging him about Baijie and he spaces…
thank you so much! it sounds like a fun but also emotional slow burn the way i like them π₯Ί i wanna start reading the novel as soon as i finish the drama and this makes me more excited to do just that π

it's a very personal interpretation but i like to think of jiushi as somewhere on the aro/ace spectrum. i laughed at him saying he could have a cat and be fine with it but i also think it's valid and relatable
sorry if you have already answered this (maybe more than onceπ ) but how do they even get together in the novel? i don't mind spoilers btw
this whole baijie/girlfriend/single convo is so hilarious i keep replaying it π€£ poor lanzhu dropping hints that he's right there if lingling would have him then dejectedly realizing it's a skill issue on linling's part lmao
in the 38-ep version, the transition from ep9 to ep10 is kinda off, i'm suspecting there's a part missing there.…
we go from the tour guide calling them to gather outside at the end of ep9 to lanzhu digging the skulls and bones out of the observatory wall at the start of ep10. surely other things happened inbetween but it's not shown

Well, if you think his acting like a damsel in distress here is enough, just wait for when he infuriated Xia Rubei…
thank you! yes that was part of my question. i understood the inside joke when they laughed because i'm aware of this in the novel but not all viewers are so i was wondering if they were gonna leave them clueless like that. censorship sucks but at least that would explain things, those of us in the know would understand the real meaning and show-only viewers would also find a reasonable answer. what surprised me is jiushi's reaction because we never saw that explained to him on screen but as you said it's probably implied as something that happened offscreen. anyway i'm glad they try to keep things sensical even if they can't tell or show everything

thank you! i'm glad they will at least explain it even if they censored the whole crossdressing thing as it was in the novel. the way it played out was like an inside joke between obsidian members and i was afraid they would leave viewers clueless about it.

btw is the novel told from lqs pov only? or do we get rnz's too?
anyway i'm glad they try to keep things sensical even if they can't tell or show everything
